NCIS (S23E17)

4/24/2026
Despite seven spinoffs and an eighth on the way, NCIS still found time to make a “Reboot” of sorts. Rather than rolling out the stars of yesteryear, Season 23, Episode 17 presents a long-overdue database update led by tech wiz Kasie. Naturally, a murder happens, people are kidnapped, and Gary Cole shows up with donuts... On the podcast, we break down our first impressions, what we were able to sus out, the plot’s strengths and other weirdness, as well as what LL Cool J adds to the mix, and finally, our rating. Welcome to Today’s Episode!

4/21/2026
Has anyone ever made you feel small? Well, maybe check out The Miniature Wife and you’ll feel a little better. From Ronny Chieng’s self-absorbed billionaire persona, to Matthew Macfadyen doing his own gloriously narcissistic science-guy routine, to Elizabeth Banks falling victim to her husband’s invention gone wrong, in this episode we review the best and worst of the 39-minute pilot, “Lady Tomato and Mr. F. Tomato-Head.” Tune in to hear our comparisons, how the show defied our assumptions, some of the broader differences from Manuel Gonzales’s original short story, the critical reception, and where it lands on our rating scale. Malcolm in the Middle: Life's Still Unfair (Season 1)

4/17/2026
Mr. Middle is back and now with grandkids! Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair is less reboot and more of a four-episode special as Hulu and Disney resurrect one of the biggest comedies of the post-Y2K era. On the podcast, we break down the long-awaited return of the dysfunctional, outlandish, and sometimes caring family. There is plenty of good and bad to go around, from the massive viewership to the polarized fan reception. We do spend more time than we should reminiscing about the original series, though it all comes together as we reveal our ultimate rating. Welcome to Today’s Episode!

The Audacity (PILOT)

4/14/2026
If Halt and Catch Fire was AMC’s first lesson in tech, The Audacity is what happens when that world metastasizes — a look at how money, power, and ego rot the core of 2026 Silicon Valley. Billy Magnussen stars as Duncan Park, a data-mining mogul doing a tightrope walk over a cliff, dragged down by his own hubris. On the pod, we break down the sprawling ensemble (Sarah Goldberg, Meaghan Rath, Lucy Punch, Simon Helberg…), touch on plot points including blackmail, NDAs, insider trading, and Wallflowers stuck in basements... Finally, we conclude whether the show has potential or if it is just a cheap Black Mirror rip off. Tune in, and Welcome to Todays Episode!

The Testaments (S01E01-03)

4/10/2026
Blessed be today, as we dive into The Testaments, Hulu’s sequel to The Handmaid’s Tale. In this episode, we break down the first three chapters, “Precious Flowers,” “Perfect Teeth,” and “Daisy,” and dig into the show’s biggest early hooks: Gilead’s twisted school system, the new generation of girls being raised inside its rules, and Agnes’s relationship with the new Pearl recruit. We also discuss the return of familiar characters, the show’s departures from the book, and whether this feels like a worthy continuation of the original series. Which characters seem most likely to turncoat? Where are the Handmaids? And how many years have actually passed? Those are just a few of the questions we’re unpacking this week. Tune in, and welcome to Today’s Episode.

Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen

4/3/2026
As we set out to unpack Netflix’s newest horror, Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen, we also debate whether the Duffer Brothers-produced series is actually just a pitch-black comedy. From the cast choices to the setting to flirting with every trope under the sun, it seems like this production and crew had some fun filming in snowy Ontario. We break down the absurdity of the "soulmate curse," Nicky’s baffling existential crisis, and the show's best and worst qualities. The reception is mixed, which makes weighing in even more fun. Tune in for our thoughts, our theories, and, of course, our rating. Welcome to Today's Episode!

The Artful Dodger (Season 2)

3/13/2026
Thomas Brodie-Sangster has sadly never starred on a show on TBS, but he’s back with the second season of a Disney+/Hulu production—one that had Australia tuning in and sheds new light on a classic. In The Artful Dodger, Jack Dawkins (the Artful Dodger from Dickens’ Oliver Twist) is now a doctor, wooing the governor’s daughter, solving medical mysteries, and pulling off heists with his old criminal mentor and bad influence, Fagin (David Thewlis). On this podcast, we do our best to recap Season 2 while also discussing new characters, historical trivia, funny moments, weird plot decisions, reception, and so on and so forth. You know the deal. On the pod, we talk about why the series impresses in its early episodes and cliffhangers, how it compares to everything from Mr. Robot and Industry to Die Hard, where it sags, where it excels, and what the early reception looks like. Scrubs (S10E01-02)

2/27/2026
Where are J.D., Turk, Carla, Dr. Cox, and Elliot today? This is the question I've been asking myself for 15 years, and finally I have an answer. Scrubs is back, and I guess we're referring to it as season 10. J.D. is older, wiser, but still very immature. On the pod, we break down the first two episodes, "My Return" and "My 2nd First Day." Though less than 50 minutes total, there are new characters, nostalgic moments, cameos, flashbacks, cutaways, montages, and catch-up storylines to discuss. Tune in as we focus on the best moments and twists, and give our ratings. Welcome to Today's Episode!

Strip Law (PILOT)

2/24/2026
Strip Law is a new animated show on Netflix that portrays Las Vegas like it is being experienced through someone on shrooms. It is an Idiocracy-adjacent world where basically anything is allowed as long as it is entertaining. In the middle of that chaos is a full-on kangaroo court, where attorney-at-law Lincoln Gum takes on cases trying to prove to himself and everyone else that he is not just a failed version of his mom’s legacy. Going up against his arch nemesis and former boss Steve Nichols, voiced by Keith David, Lincoln realizes he cannot win in this town by being normal. He brings in Sheila Flambe, a street magician he meets as juror number eight, to add some Vegas showmanship, plus his small staff to help him stay one step ahead in court. On the podcast, we recap the pilot, hit the best and worst moments, debate whether this has any chance of being the next BoJack, and give our ratings. Welcome to Today’s Episode.

The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins (PILOT)

2/20/2026
The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins premieres for the second time on NBC this Monday. Since the pilot already aired last month, and with its proximity to both the Olympics and the Super Bowl, we have to assume this sports sitcom has a lot to offer. On the podcast, we discuss Tracy Morgan’s character Reggie, and the documentary he is making about himself with the help of Arthur, a disgraced movie director (Daniel “I don’t want to be associated as a wizard, so I take every comedy role I can” Radcliffe). Along with going over the plot, we play some trivia, talk about our favorite moments, surprises like Daily Show correspondent cameos, and what the early reception is looking like. In this podcast, we break down our favorite parts, the reveals, the genre-meshing and comparisons to Search Party, Yellowjackets, Pretty Little Liars, and The ’Burbs.
