This time I tried to re-create some of the classic early home computer and gaming console sounds.

This time I show in a video how I create a patch that sounds a little creepy and a bit like Dr. Frankenstein's laboratory – so this is perfect for Halloween! (More at www.thecaravel.net)

Clocks and the time of day obviously play a very important role. This is all fine and dandy as long as you don't let yourself get stressed by it. But this is exactly the issue at hand.

I wanted to find out if I could quickly make a patch that would sound like a realistic orchestra – but where you would only need to press one key per chord.

Plastic bottles make many interesting sounds. It would be a shame not to sample this at some point. And then make some drum loops out of that.

Just by accident I created an ethereal pad where once in a while, completely unpredictable, a wave shaper messes everything up completely.

Plus phaser and delay. I really wanted to know what this would sound like. And I've recorded all that in a video.

I know. An uncool subject. Yet, it's so important! And it's not quite as simple as you might first think.

Robin MacBlane and Larry Whitler of the radio station "The Source 96.3 FM & 1370 AM WOCA", Ocala, Florida, interviewed me live for 25 minutes. Of course, as always, I was very nervous. But Robin and Larry made sure to make me feel comfortable in no time. About many things we chatted and we laughed a lot. Among other things we talked about music, video games, Los Angeles, film music, criticism and, ah – fleas. I have edited a version with the best bits.
