In their conversation Marcus talks about his physical journey as a child from the former Czech Republic to Austria and to Germany, Hamburg being his current home in the forest which also houses his studio. Marcus describes his gear in detail and talks about his friendship with fellow german Reinhold Bogner whom he met while attending GIT in Hollywood, Marcus is partially responsible for helping Bogner design the Ecstasy. Marcus takes us through his musical history, starting on jazz studying in Munich before moving to Hollywood to attend Musicians Institute and Marcus tells us why he chose MI and his goal of becoming a session guitarist. Marcus describes the culture shock of moving to Hollywood at 20 after growing up in Europe and he talks about his return to Europe after seven years of working doing sessions and teaching at MI as well as playing in the inevitable “hair bands” of the 80’s. In our conversation Jack tells us about his time in college at NYU at the Clive Davis school of music and his connection to New York City. Jack talks about his time in Georgia and high school class that ultimately led him to meet and develop a friendship with George Gruhn… who eventually gave Jack a job documenting a guitar collection that most of which ended up at Belmont University. Jack describes how George Gruhn introduced him to Vince Gill and how that led to a friendship, a job as guitar tech which in turn led to Jack’s gig playing acoustic guitar in Vince’s band. Jack talks about his personal guitar collection which includes a lot of vintage guitars including a ‘52 Gibson Les Paul Gold Top and ‘52 Gibson Southern Jumbo. Tyler tells us about his musical journey from Kansas City to Nashville and back to Kansas City and from drums to guitar and then from band leader to session man and then a little of both. Tyler describes his work with Florida Georgia Line and his move to session musician just before Covid.
