The Lovepools

The Lovepools are a Los Angeles indie rock and synth pop group formed in 2017. The duo consists of Anthony Shea (Vocals, Guitars and Keyboards) and Devin McGee (Drums). After releasing two EP's The Lovepools released their first indie rock single, "See You In The Funny Papers" which can be seen on Showtime’s “Shameless” Season 9 Premiere. In 2020 through 2021, the band signed with Sword Music in license with Sony Music Italy and released a series of singles including "White Lies & Palm Trees". This track was a departure from their guitar based indie rock roots towards a cleaner, dreamier synth-pop sound. The single was released by Sword Music in exclusive European license with Sony Music Italy and reached success in Italy, appearing on MTV and many other major Italian TV and radio stations. After a near two year hiatus through the pandemic the group is is preparing for a set of new releases starting with upcoming synthpop single, "Something = Nothing" set to be released worldwide on September 15th, 2023

Produced entirely in the band's bedroom, new single “Cut Me Slack” is built with pop-songwriting tendencies similar to Empire Of The Sun and Foster The People. Brimming with dreamy swells, synth riffs, processed samples and arpeggios, “Cut Me Slack!” is a continuation of The Lovepools driving synthpop and indie rock sound first established with their previous single, “White Lies & Palm Trees”. Backed by their label Sword Music under exclusive license to Sony Music Italy, “White Lies & Palm Trees” has gained over 20,000 Spotify streams and 35,000 YouTube views as well as appearing on MTV Italy and Italian radio since its May release date this year. Phrases like, “Real love takes time,” and “We are the children hiding under the lights,” show the band refuses to let their hopes and dreams down, let alone anyone else's. Aria Cruz, bass player of The Lovepools, describes the song in a few sentences, “It’s about reaching for the highest star! The one you always wished upon when you were a child! The inner child viewing the adult version of you smiling… Knowing that you will never give up on your dreams.”
