Description:

Experimental radio program on the go. It's a combination of a music radio program and sound installations recorded on locations. Includes spoken word performance with music. Latin Quarter Radio Show, a program of 'imaginary soundscapes and other incidents', takes the name from the famous area in Paris. The program was born in Penryn, Cornwall in 2009 in occasion of the opening of the new Community Radio The Source FM which was based right into the heart of Penryn University. Latin Quarter therefore, doesn't necessary mean the program is about Latin Music, in fact the name was chosen because it evokes images of bohemian Paris at its height. The daedal of streets surrounding what was the left bank's true student and intellectual center continues to attract people that hope to discover, or possibly resurrect, a little of that electric sense of change. In this sense the show, following a format designed for the 'aspirations, inspirations and perspiration of communities of listeners', oozes out inventiveness and through poetry, world music, lateral thinking and other features takes the listener into a parallel dimension where anything is possible including floating in the air or broadcasting straight from the 'holo-deck'.
