Linda Grandberry-Shelton has been a homeowner and resident in the Ville neighborhood for 40 years. This historically black neighborhood in St. Louis City was one of the communities that was hit by the EF-3 tornado on May 16th, and Linda's family home was completely destroyed. One of the largest movements in U.S. History was The Great Migration, where an influx of African Americans left the South from 1910 - 1970 to the Midwest and northern states. During this time, approximately 6 million African Americans fled the Jim Crow South for better jobs, treatment, and opportunities. One of the cities of interest was St. Louis, especially for Louisiana and Mississippi residents.
