The Authentic American

And apparently I'm not a very good American because I like to form my own opinions.” ― George Carlin Over the past fifteen years or so there’s been a real disease that has spread throughout our society. If I can be honest I noticed when it started just based on my interactions with people and by simply observing the culture throughout my daily life. Before I reveal to you what I’m referring to I will share with you some symptoms of what I am talking about based on some previous conversations I’ve had with close friends and family over the past few years. I was hanging out with a few friends of mine a while back and we were talking about when the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) first came on the scene and what it was like seeing that type of competition in the early 1990s. Now I don’t know if you follow the UFC, or if you’ve ever seen any of the UFC fights when the sport first started. If you haven’t I will warn you because there was probably nothing else that even came close to this except for the gladiators that used to fight inside the Roman Colosseum long ago. In the early days of the UFC there was a shock factor that would either cause you to sit back in your seat at a loss for words, or you’d be jumping up and down in your living room with friends yelling at the TV. Now I’m not saying that the UFC still doesn’t produce some excitement among its biggest fans. Of course it does, but that isn’t the point. The point I’m talking about is the original raw idea and set up involving the sport when it first began. The original idea that got the sport started was what brought on the shock factor and kicked off the wild energy that would lay the foundation for the most successful professional fighting organization that has ever existed. So you’re probably wondering, Brandon, what was so special about the early days of the UFC? In the early days of the UFC the entire event was formed out of the old idea and question of which martial arts discipline is the most superior? In other words, is Kempo Karate the best, or would Kung Fu be the best? Would the best discipline be American boxing, or would that title belong to Muay Thai? You see the UFC was basically formed out of the idea where someone finally came to the table and decided that they were going to build this octagon shaped ring that was inside a steel cage. From here this is where they would throw two guys from different disciplines into the middle of that cage in order to put each discipline to the test. Now if that idea is not crazy enough it gets even wilder. At the time the UFC barely had any rules at all. No, I’m not making this up. In the first days of the UFC there were no weight classifications, no time limits, and the fighters fought in a single elimination tournament style event. The early days were also advertised as no rules, but they did have only three rules at the time. There was no biting, no eye gouging, and no fish-hooking. Groin strikes were not disallowed, but were frowned upon. Now when looking at the formation of the UFC in its early days it’s no mystery as to why the sport got the level of attention that it did. Like anything else in its inception it was honest, raw, and full of personality and energy. Sure, the sport of UFC wasn’t an immediate household success and it took a few years to work through some controversy, some regulation, and some general growing pains, but the product had a rabid base of supporters that would ensure its success. The same thing can be said for most every other sport as well involving NASCAR, the NFL, and Wrestling Entertainment. However, like most any major sport, or business, that comes out of the gate hot there’s always a series of major changes that takes place during the growth phase of...

No More Half Measures

The Official Substack Of Brandon Richey is a reader-supported publication. I’ll never make that mistake again. No more half measures, Walter.” –Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks, Breaking Bad) Throughout my career as a fitness and strength coach I’ve had many people approach me in the hopes that I could help them to work in order to achieve a stronger and fitter body. Now hearing that you may think that this isn’t such an unusual request, but the thing you have to understand is that the fitness industry at large has been heavily degraded in terms of quality coaching and advice across the board, much like our institutions have been degraded over the past several decades. Nowadays, because the market has been saturated with bad coaching, most people want to look for the latest fads with things like hot yoga, how to get a beach body in time for the summer, etc. Fortunately for me this doesn’t involve my students. In short, with the interest in the field the majority of it has become a mix of marketing fads that have ultimately resulted in the country still suffering from the highest obesity rate consisting of 40% of the population, along with a battery of other health problems that plague the nation. When it comes to health in the current zeitgeist many people still want to ignore doing the work all while depending on some horrible medical procedure, or a so-called magical pill from big Pharma, for their desired results. This ultimately leads them back to the physical road to perdition inviting in even more problems than what they started with in the first place. The reality is that the fitness industry has probably been propagandized worse than just about any other industry. These days it’s all about the fads and the fad coaches rather than measurable and sustainable lifelong results. In short, perception is not reality, but perception is sold as the reality in the fitness industry. The same thing can be said for every other industry as well. The reality is that there are very few natural results to look at regarding the industry as a whole. Instead we get stuck with the artificial Instagram models that would rather pose as being the greatest online coaches who, in reality, are primarily aiming to push you into some sales funnel in order for you to buy their latest line of Chinese manufactured supplements rather than providing you with sound physical results. The truth is that for the last several decades in our society there has been a real detachment with many people concerning their mind/body connection due to the lack of physical activity and physical jobs that used to dominate the landscape of the workforce. Because of this most of the population are completely incapable of making any sound healthy decision for themselves. The sad reality is that a large segment of the population have become dependent on the latest fad, the internet, a coach, or some cheap low quality supplement to feel like they’re doing something worthwhile for their health. Now don’t get me wrong I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with hiring a coach, or for doing some research. That’s not the point I’m making here at all. After all, I’m a coach myself and I do this for a living. The point I’m making is simply about pointing out the reality that a lot of people in our society simply have zero ability to figure out some basic level of things for themselves. As a result of this it’s simply become difficult for many people to do what should come naturally in a lot of ways when it comes to making healthy decisions concerning their personal health and lifestyle goals. Now having said all of that there’s something I want to touch on here today that I frequently communicate to new students that do seek me out in order to help them with their physical journey. The thing I...

There were several reasons for this relating to the fact that it involved significant social and political upheaval due to some key events at the time involving the civil rights movement, the Vietnam War, and a change in other traditional norms. For good or bad, and whether or not it was organic or manufactured, this time period was significant in that the culture was changing the landscape of society. This culture shift resulted in a key element of creativity that sprouted up and could be seen and heard embedded deep within the fashion, music, and art during that time period. I wanted to use the 1960s and the 1970s to comment on this as you can observe this unique culture through many movies, songs, newspapers, and magazine covers from the time. From fashion all the way to music the 1960s and 1970s was a culture to behold even though I was born towards the later part of this time period in 1976. Now even though the 1960s and the 1970s were profound I can also attest to the fact that the 1980s were also a very unique time period as well. Being that I’m a part of Generation X (GenX for short) I was able to have the privilege of growing up as a kid of the 1980s. So why was this significant? After the Vietnam War had wound down bringing the 1970s to a close the 1980s came into focus ushering in its own problems, as well as, its own successes along with its own significant culture of influence. As a kid of the 1980s I can remember the talks of the Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union. I can remember how there was a shift in attitude within the country where it seemed to come roaring out of a more depressed state following the 1970s under the leadership of Jimmy Carter to being energized and reinvigorated under the leadership of President Reagan. Even as a kid I can remember noticing the reinvigorating energy that was displayed throughout the culture of the 1980s. I witnessed and lived this firsthand with being able to see a patriotic love and fervor throughout the country that was evident everywhere I turned from the music, to the movies, to the sports, and even in one other place that, culturally speaking, kinda flew under the radar. It was that last under the radar phenomenon that I just mentioned that, in my view, laid the foundation for being a very big reason as to why we can be grateful that Donald Trump is currently the sitting President of the United States. So what was this unexpected force of nature that I was referring to where I witnessed this Patriotic love and fervor, and what does it have to do with Donald Trump winning the Presidency? This unexpected phenomenon I’m referring to appeared on my own TV screen, along with millions of other TV screens of young GenX boys, on Saturday mornings growing up in the 1980s. The reason this is so significant is because many of the communist left were completely blindsided and caught off guard by this same force of nature during the Republican National Convention prior to this past election in...

Killer Instinct

Now I’m no psychologist and I'm certainly not saying that I have all the answers when it comes to the internal motivations of people and how they go about pursuing certain life goals. Conversely, I’m not even saying I have the answers as to why they choose not to pursue particular goals either. However, what I do know is that whenever there is a goal that is to be pursued and accomplished the most successful achievers are always able to demonstrate two key attributes in order to make their dreams a reality. Those two attributes involve their personal discipline of action combined with having a killer instinct. Now the attribute of possessing a personal discipline of action is pretty self-explanatory, but what is it that I mean when I talk about one possessing a killer instinct? If you’ve ever watched a professional MMA fight then you’ve witnessed one of the most intensely competitive sports in all of history. The competition between fighters is something that is very strenuous and intense because they don’t have any other teammates to rely on in order to come out on top in their particular form of competition. In other words, the final outcome of the MMA bout solely falls onto the shoulders of each fighter. It’s because of the recognition of the responsibility that’s involved in this individual reality that a fighter knows that they have to go all in with everything they’ve got when it comes to winning. When it involves the reality of such a one on one competition inside of that cage the stone cold fact that the fighter understands is that nobody is going to be able to come inside of that cage with them in order to win the fight for them. When it’s all said and done they clearly understand that nobody is coming in to save them. Sure, a fighter may have a great corner of guys and girls for support. However, at the end of the day it’s up to them to walk across that mat to face off against that other guy or girl to fight the fight in order to win the day. Additionally, they understand that their competition is on the other side of that mat facing down that same exact reality. With that being said, the last ten years have taught us a lot about what the overarching perception of our society has fallen victim to in regards to the destructive accepted beliefs and norms of our times. For clarity, those beliefs and norms certainly haven’t involved an individual mindset of achievement the way our fighter sees their pursuit, but rather our society chose to embrace mediocrity, victimhood, and mindless decadence. Whenever a fighter gets too comfortable, too cocky, or too relaxed it most always eventually results in that fighter getting knocked out. Any fighter that doesn’t respect their competition, or in a split second moment decides to take a half measure instead of a full measure, is opening themselves up for a devastating defeat. In other words, if you expect to win any fight in life you must have a killer instinct. The Old Status Quo Now when I talk about the old status quo, I’m more specifically talking about what those beliefs have been in regards to what has maintained the old status quo of our society up until the beginning of the Great Awakening that has taken place in the...

"Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men.” –Proverbs 22:29 Since the Jeffrey Epstein situation has resurfaced it has understandably caused a lot of frustration among the MAGA movement. Much of this has been based on the disappointing messaging that we’ve previously gotten from the Attorney General along with some other messaging that we’re now hearing from other influencers involved in the movement. Because of this I recently addressed this with a comment on my Substack Notes and I’m going to include that comment here below so if you have already seen it please be patient as the context is essential for the message in today’s episode. Substack Note: I understand that there's a lot of MAGA frustrated and angry about the Epstein situation. However, that frustration is what the Administrative State is hoping for. Remember that at the end of the day they see President Trump as a passing figure and they are just trying to hold up and delay everything he's trying to do. To delay is to deny. However, it's yours and my duty to continue to dial up the pressure and to be relentless. We must channel our frustration into a focused and relentless offense against these evil and embedded governmental bad actors. Understand that frustration can lead to cynicism and cynicism can lead to apathy. With that being said they only have to get 2-3% of us to fall into that trap. At the end of the day I personally don't believe that our Lord and Savior Jesus pulled our country out of a dark place that was headed towards a technocratic slave state for nothing. He is showing us just how far we've come and how much further we can go together with our faith and our actions. Don't despair. Double down. Triple down. Quadruple down. Whatever the enemy throws at us we counter tenfold. God bless. That was my comment on my Substack Notes just a few days ago and the one thing that this Epstein situation has reminded me of is the long battle that we (the MAGA and America First movement) have in front of us. Because of this it’s also reminding me of the necessity for our MAGA movement to demonstrate whether or not we have staying power in terms of our ability to meet ALL of the difficult issues that are threatening our liberty and freedoms head on. Since President Trump came on the scene and spearheaded the most powerful cultural and political movement in all of history with MAGA I knew that this would be the ONLY thing that could stand a chance at defeating the deep state. However, since this story surrounding the Epstein files popped back up I’m seeing a lot of MAGA exhibiting a lack of patience and perspective on the issue. Now before you get angry about that last statement allow me to put that into context. Remember that the deep state is a corrupt bureaucratic force that has been created, expanded, and embedded within our federal government and institutions now for many decades. In other words, in this modern era the MAGA movement is arguably only about a decade old in its recent reorganization of our history if you’re starting the count from that famous moment that President Trump first came down that golden escalator. However, in our country’s more recent history we can trace the origin of the deep state all the way back to World War II with President Franklin D. Roosevelt and his creation of the New Deal. That was the rapid birth and expansion of what we would now recognize today as the deep state. The reason I’m telling you this is because in my lifetime I believe we’ve all, as a voting populace, become accustomed to wanting to play the short game in politics by desiring immediate change to a corrupt system such as ours between a four and eight year election cycle. Even with President Trump moving at Trump speed and...

This is a trait that’s necessary to understand not only for the purpose of building up your own individual physical resilience, but it’s also necessary for the importance of understanding how it can apply to a team, a movement, and a coalition that consists of the perpetuation of the beliefs and values of the liberty movement. If it’s your first time on my platform then you may not know that I am a professional strength and fitness coach and small business owner. There’s a specific reason I’m telling you this and I will further clarify that reason as I elaborate on the message of today’s episode. I’ve been a practicing coach now for close to 25 years and have trained a wide range of people from the novice all the way to world class athletes. Having been in this industry for so many years has allowed me to develop and acquire a very deep understanding of the human body and its potential. So what is the trait I mentioned at the beginning of this episode that is essential for building optimal physical strength and resilience? The secret that I’m talking about that can build optimal physical strength and resilience in the human body simply involves having the discipline to put forth intentional consistent effort towards a goal. That’s right, there’s no magical formula, no magical potion, or some extraordinary magical pill that is going to help you to achieve peak physical performance. There’s no quick fix for you to develop a resilient body that is resistant to almost every form of disease and injury known to mankind. That peak physical condition can only come from you possessing the discipline, willpower, and consistency in order to pursue it on a daily basis. In order for you to have that you MUST make that decision in your mind in order to pursue such a goal in order to make it happen. Now having said that, I also mentioned that the same trait that was essential for you to build up peak physical strength and resilience was also necessary in building up a team, a movement, and a coalition particularly when involved in perpetuating the beliefs and values of the liberty movement. So how exactly does this work? Well I’ve really already answered that question, but I’ll still elaborate a bit further because it’s something that took me some time to come to understand. That same understanding is what led me down the path to eventually starting this Substack blog and podcast just three years ago. From Everyday Citizen To Being An Emissary of Freedom Unless you’ve been living under a rock since the pandemic hit there’s been a huge unmasking of villains that have been identified as enemies to this United States Republic and those enemies are domestic enemies that reside right here at home. These enemies have pretty much been expanding inside the state governments and federal government throughout our beautiful nation for many years now. These enemies consist of communists, statists, and political radicals who all fall underneath the umbrella of being grafters that leech off of the tax dollars that are paid into the government by the hardworking American citizen. These domestic enemies have also been able to perpetuate their corruption within our state and federal institutions because they have infected every single one of those institutions. They have infected our media, our universities, our banking systems, our judicial systems, and even our entertainment systems. This rot is far reaching, but make no mistake this rot has spread simply because those people associated with the team of rot have...

Moses was sent on a mission from God to free the Israelites from slavery from the Egyptians under the very proud and powerful Pharaoh. This entire event was a process that involved a lot of hard negotiating where the Lord even used nightmarish plagues against Pharaoh and Egypt when he continually refused to allow his people to go free with Moses. This was only after Pharaoh refused the requests of Moses over and over and over again. Now to be fair the Bible does say that God hardened Pharaoh’s heart during the times when Moses would approach Pharoah and request the release of the Lord’s people. Now I’m no Biblical scholar, but my best guess as to why the Lord did this was because God had already known Pharaoh’s heart. Pharaoh had already demonstrated his stubbornness and unwillingness to learn. Granted it was this stubbornness that allowed God to demonstrate his authority while ultimately leading to the liberation of the Israelites and the complete downfall of Pharaoh. One must keep in mind that it never said that Pharaoh's heart was permanently hardened, but his decision to remain in defiance of the request of Moses would remain intact until it ended his own army in the Red Sea. I find it interesting how Pharaoh was so determined to want to possess the sovereignty of the Israelites to the point that it led his army to their demise. That desire for one to be the sovereign authority over others seems to be a human desire that has never gone away since the world fell long ago. As we look at the landscape of these modern day global technocrats it seems that our world is still full of Pharaohs that serve false gods and still seek to possess the sovereignty of others just the same. As the old saying goes “There’s nothing new under the sun.” –Ecclesiastes 1:9. The Technocratic Sovereign Now before I go any further I just wanted to warn you that I am going to give some commentary here on the plot of a brand new movie that I just recently watched called Mountainhead. If you have an interest in seeing that movie then I want to give you fair warning that I’m going to be talking about what happens in that movie here now. However, if you’re just here to read and listen to my commentary then stay right where you are and I’ll do my best to hold your interest. First of all, I didn’t think that the movie Mountainhead was a great movie, but then again a lot of modern cultural entertainment is garbage these days. Now having said that there appears to be some steady improvement in the creative culture due to this Great Awakening and seismic cultural shift that we all are experiencing right in front of us, but I digress. However, Mountainhead did offer a valuable lesson and some key cultural insight that directly applies to our modern day lives that I wanted to share with you here. Now in the movie Mountainhead it follows three wealthy friends who meet at a retreat due to a significant level of global upheaval caused by AI-generated disinformation. As it turns out this AI-disinformation is largely being...

The Curse of Bigness

But the curse of bigness is back, and antitrust enforcement must come back with it, updated to perform its original, republican function: protecting the independence of the American people from oligarchic control.” ― Josh Hawley In 1973 a man walked into a bank in Stockholm, Sweden with a Russian automatic rifle and held it up. During this event he took three female hostages and one male hostage that he ended up holding for what would be a 131 hour marathon of chaos. During this event the hostages were exposed to a series of very traumatic experiences as he terrorized them throughout this ordeal. As it turns out he actually put a noose around their necks during certain points of the hold up and constantly threatened to kill them. In addition to this he actually pointed the rifle at them and fired it multiple times in their direction. However, at the end of the day when this event finally came to its conclusion he had not physically harmed any of the hostages. When the man finally decided to surrender something very unusual happened that would shock the authorities. When this event came to its conclusion the authorities expected the hostages to be antagonistic towards the hostage taker, but at the end of this experience the hostages had expressed more fear and concern towards the police officers than they did toward the guy that had been holding them against their will. What was even stranger is that they didn’t even claim to hate, or dislike the hostage taker after the event. The hostages even went so far as to not even bother to testify against the man. In fact, one of the women ended up marrying the hostage taker after he was released from prison in 1980. That hostage taker and bank robber Jan-Erik Olsson moved to Thailand and in 2009 released his autobiography, entitled Stockholm Syndrome. So what’s the moral of this wild, but true story here? Just because you’re single and broke could this story suggest that you should arm yourself, commandeer a bank, and take a bunch of people hostage in hopes of meeting your future wife, or husband? I know you may laugh, however this would mirror a similar line of thinking regarding the current day’s RINOs and establishment Libertarians who think that the nationwide riots going on right now are NOT the result of an invasion, or Fifth Column activity. These people want to argue that the riots are the result of a group of non-citizens that love America despite them burning old glory in the streets while brandishing the flags of their country of origin. These same RINO and establishment Libertarians also believe that the Neo-Brandeisian movement to break the back of big business in this current day is somehow anti-free market. As it relates to this current day on the issues of illegal immigration, and the economic reality of the country, this sort of thinking is what is known as effete intellectualism. The Neo-Brandeisian Movement Louis Brandeis was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. He would enter Harvard University (long before the institution became a hotbed of CCP Fifth Column activity) when he was 18 years of age and would end up graduating in 1877 with the highest average in the law school’s history. Brandeis would end up becoming a Justice in the Supreme Court from 1916-1939. During his tenure he would also end up becoming an extraordinary Justice in the Supreme Court as he employed the skills that had also made him a renowned attorney. Throughout his career he had a certain perspective regarding his view of the law and its application. For him the law was a device that would be used to shape social, economic, and political affairs. I would say that for right, or wrong Brandeis is 100% correct in this assessment. As an overview he believed...

The Fifth Column

6/4/2025
The Official Substack Of Brandon Richey is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber. “Spy' is such a short ugly word. I prefer 'espionage.' Those extra three syllables really say something.” ― Howard Tayler, Emperor Pius Dei Throughout history civilizations rise and fall after going through a long cycle of power dynamics that ultimately leads to such power being abused by corrupt leaders and grafters. As it turns out, these corrupt people that manage to find their way to the top of a leadership position have a greater interest in using the power of their position for their own perceived personal gain rather than leveraging the power of their position for the betterment of their home country. During such times when bad actors are allowed to get into power and control the country of their origin they have often done so by using a boot on the neck of their citizens while always looking to do whatever they can in order to maintain their hold on power. In such times if these corrupt dictators can sense that their grip on the power dynamic is slipping they may be smart enough to recognize such a thing and it’s usually at this point that they realize that they must start looking into ways to help themselves maintain the control of their position by any means necessary. When this happens traditionally these types of dictators would go to a podium to stand in front of their people to call out a foreign devil. It’s at this point that the corrupt leader would explain to his people how the cause of all of their problems is centered around a foreign devil that is a threat to their homeland. At this moment a corrupt leader is essentially leaning on the playbook of leveraging radical nationalism in order to drum up fear and to create a false enemy while all the time this leader is engaging in psychological projection as he is guilty of the actual problem that he’s telling his people that the foreign devil is guilty of being. Time and time again we can see this scenario play out in the history books and when it does the world becomes a very dangerous place. This always results in millions of people dying due to wars that ravage cities and rural areas in a manner that is so dark that it’s hard to comprehend. If we fast forward through time up to the present day we can see how this same playbook has been taking form from a certain country in the east that desires to rule the entire world. Although there’s been different strategies employed by these corrupt leaders in the past, today we can see how they prefer to place a lot more emphasis on adopting a more clandestine approach. You can see this in their efforts as they aim to infiltrate and subvert a foreign devil from within. To give you a specific example these days they even engage in getting into trade deals with their enemy by offering cheap labor to the corporate businesses of their enemy’s homeland in order to manufacture their goods and products. Make no mistake this cheap labor is cheap because it’s made up of slave labor from their working populace. Also understand that they are willing to do this in order to help enrich the elites of those companies of their enemy’s homeland. Now you may look at that and ask How is that a bad thing? How could they help to enrich the elites of their enemy’s homeland and still consider them an enemy? Well if either of those questions occurred to you then you’d be asking some very good questions. However, you’ve got to understand that there’s a very specific reason for them engaging in such trade and business with their enemies. You see once the ruling regime of the authoritarians are able to build a huge manufacturing base for the corporations from their enemy’s homeland then they can do other more impactful and nefarious things. At this point they can manage to build immense influence, achieve financial capture, and literally position themselves to steal the...

At the time I had a friend that was working for Sears Termite and Pest Control and I was able to land a job with them that particular summer. To be honest I didn't know a lot about pest control, but at that time they offered some very good training and even equipped me with a work truck that I could use to get around town to each appointment once I got through the training. The job was challenging, but it was quite rewarding and I learned a lot about how to get rid of unwanted guests that would find their way into people’s homes. It was quite an experience and I encountered a few things that I’ll never forget including one of the most gruesome looking black widow spiders that I’ve ever seen. I pray I never encounter anything like that again because I’m not a fan of spiders at all, especially that particular alien monster I saw when working that job. I remember it was a requirement for the technicians to meet at the office first thing in the morning to get the day’s schedule in hand along with making sure our trucks were properly equipped with everything that was needed to do the day’s work. The equipment and game plan for the day was always very important which is one of the best memories I have about that job. However, one of the unique things about that job was that none of us technicians really knew what our daily schedule would look like until we actually showed up for the normal morning meeting. It was at this morning planning period where they would give us the day’s schedule for the appointments we would have to run. Now I remember this one particular time when I arrived at the meeting the manager walked up to me and handed me the day's schedule and it only had two appointments listed on it. My initial thought was that I was going to have a light day, but the manager quickly called that into question as he put his finger on the later appointment that was listed and said something like You’re going to need the whole afternoon for this one. These people have a huge cockroach problem. I didn’t think much about it and headed out to service my appointments. I quickly knocked out the first one on the schedule and then headed to the second appointment. When I arrived at the second appointment I remember walking up to the house thinking that it probably wouldn’t be a bad job until I got inside. The owner that came to the door seemed like a kind individual, but his personality was clearly a little odd. I’m not making any sort of judgment with that statement, but it was simply an objective observation. After all, I typically like people who are a bit eccentric. However, when I got inside this guy’s house I realized that what I was dealing with was an excessive hoarder. I mean when I walked in the front door I barely had enough room to take a step as the floor was completely covered with boxes, papers, and a ton of...

The Unnecessary Necessary Struggle

The ultimate search engine that would understand everything on the web. It would understand exactly what you wanted, and it would give you the right thing. We’re nowhere near doing that now. However, we can get incrementally closer to that, and that is basically what we work on.” —Larry Page “The pace of progress in artificial intelligence (I’m not referring to narrow AI) is incredibly fast. Unless you have direct exposure to groups like Deepmind, you have no idea how fast—it is growing at a pace close to exponential. The risk of something seriously dangerous happening is in the five-year time frame. 10 years at most.” —Elon Musk wrote in a comment on Edge.org Human beings are the only species on the planet that have continually proven that we engage in activities that lead to our own destruction. This has been the case since the very beginning with Adam and Eve. Since the introduction of sin came on the scene along with it came death. The sin of man thinking that he’s capable of handling the world’s problems on his own serves to be the exact reason why he always leads himself and others straight into the furnace. Some major societal examples of this that I can give you to summarize that last statement is how there are people who always tout how amazing certain government policies, or technological advancements are for the betterment of society. You can always see this because it always starts with framing the application of such advancements as being utilized in an altruistic manner. This is typically presented in scenarios that involve life saving technology in the realm of unique medical treatments, technological advancements with the development of AI, and the biggest one involving the fake lofty acts of virtue that you always hear about involving the programs of the government associated with the climate change agenda. However, it seems that the bigger the team effort is concerning the government and large companies uniting in order to save the world the worse the outcome. I mean unless you have short term memory you can clearly see this failure with pretty much everything associated with the pandemic just five short years ago. Another example of seismic failure would involve the massive climate change agenda and how it’s caused significantly more problems associated with the destruction of the environment rather than the protection of it over many decades now. The astonishing thing about this that gets so frustrating to me is how obvious all of this has been for so long, but society has just simply not paid attention…until the problems from these so-called virtuous government programs started impacting every single household. You know how that last statement goes in the minds of most people. If you don’t know how this applies to the apathetic, it basically means that it’s not a problem worth worrying about until that problem kicks in the front door of those who are apathetic and gets right up in their face. Once again an example of this would involve the pandemic and all of the woke science from it that was forced upon the public regarding the dangerous side effects from the vaccines, the virus itself having been created in a Wuhan lab, and the fact that it was financed by the U.S. government. The problem with the out of control growth and expansion of the federal government has long been something of a large complaint to those who have recognized it as being a dangerous problem. Because of this, if the rest of society had just listened and acted to correct it we wouldn’t be dealing with the problems that we’re seeing now. The struggle should have been unnecessary, but human nature has made it necessary for the simple fact that human nature procrastinates. This is why...

MAGA

I mean everything seemed to accelerate concerning the pandemic, the rigged election of 2020, the hyper-corruption of our government, the reality of elite capture from the Chinese Communist Party, the attempted assassinations of President Trump, the wars sprouting up everywhere, and even the increasing incidence and reporting concerning UFOs. It’s not hard to take a look around and notice that the world has been spinning out of control. I mean all of these issues are still very much in motion, however there’s one big difference as to why they all haven’t led to the point of the country completely falling off the rails and that’s because of the MAGA movement. That’s right, the only reason the country hasn’t totally collapsed into a third world totalitarian hellhole at this point is because of God’s divine intervention and the way that he works through the abilities and actions of good people. To me this is essentially what defines the MAGA coalition. Make America Great Again (MAGA) is more than just an idea, it’s a movement. The creation of the MAGA movement isn’t something that just suddenly and spontaneously happened. No, it has been a movement that has been forged out of the recognition that the establishment government, consisting of all parties, has been completely guilty of selling the country out to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for many decades now. This movement recognizes the reality that its own government has devolved into a grafting operation where its system operatives benefit from senselessly getting the United States involved in foreign affairs as it sends money to aid foreign nations while its own citizens reap no benefit from propping it up. In fact, the system has been weaponized against those very citizens who do prop it up. Because the political game has changed by devolving into this grafting operation that attracts the worst of the worst in politicians the citizenry has suffered more and more over time. Because of this steadfast escalation of suffering, theft, and outright warfare that has been waged against the American citizen the MAGA movement came into existence. Newton’s third law of motion states that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Now having said that, the reality is that the established action that has been at play has involved the ever-growing and intrusive expansion of government against the American citizen and the reaction to that intrusive entity is the MAGA movement. MAGA is the perfect example of an expanding coalition of citizen voters that are more engaged and more informed than any other political movement, or coalition, in the history of the world. In short, MAGA makes up the Emissaries of Freedom. Even speaking for myself I started noticing this years ago with how useless establishment Republicans were when they clearly had winning issues on their side against the Democratic party and would simply do nothing. They would always talk, but they would never follow through with their actions. The ability to follow through with actions is the very definition of MAGA. President Trump is clearly a man of action, therefore the MAGA movement consists of citizen activists who are full of action and the MAGA activists have the intellectual horsepower to back up their actions. MAGA is the antithesis of philosophical reductionism which has been the longstanding DNA makeup of the failing Republican, Conservative, Liberal, Democrat, and Libertarian establishment. Meaningful Action Additionally I also noticed that there was never any accountability against politicians who would graft off the system,...

Human Limitations

The Official Substack Of Brandon Richey is a reader-supported publication. If citizens do not exercise the powers conferred by their legitimacy, others will do so.” ― John Ralston Saul One thing I’ve really come to grips with over the past few years is just how fragile our country truly is in regards to the functional congruence of its complex systems when those systems are stressed. Granted, I do believe our country is probably more economically resilient than any other country in the history of the world, but along with that reality its economic horsepower has also been used and abused more than any economic superpower in world history. The reality is that if you have half a brain you don't need Elon Musk and his DOGE team to tell you that the federal government is full of waste, fraud, and abuse. The reality of this can easily be seen if you simply take about five seconds to visit the U.S. National Debt Clock. One thing that’s glaringly obvious regarding the origin of all of the world’s problems is that they all originate from the globalists and Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Now you may understand why I’m saying that, but if you don’t then I’ll add clarification. The simple explanation is that they all share the same goal of acquiring and maintaining mass control over the entire world. In short, their goals are about obtaining centralization and ruling the world. It really is that simple. Because of this these authoritarians and inimical foes have treated the United States worse than we’ve ever treated them. In fact, the globalists used the economic system of the United States to enrich themselves only to then turn on the United States by actively working to weaken and destroy the various complex systems of the country. They’ve attacked the medical systems, the judicial system, the transportation system, the media, and the financial system. To make matters even worse they’ve used their influence to infiltrate governmental systems all over the world including our own and have aided in the funding of corrupt NGOs that work as terrorist organizations to fight against the well being of the country. The CCP has also worked alongside these globalists and have shared a welcoming partnership with the globalists. The WEF and Klaus Schwab have openly welcomed Xi Jinping to their platform in Davos and discussed their global partnership and essentially aided in being a cheerleader for the CCP’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Because of this corrupt relationship between the globalists and the CCP it has resulted in their actions to work towards creating a stressed citizenry in the United States. To understand this you’ve first got to understand that the CCP looks at warfare in a very different way compared to the way we look at it here in the West. The CCP’s modus operandi is very much in line with Sun Tzu’s Art of War where they would rather take down their enemy without ever having to fire a shot. In other words, to destroy an enemy they’ll fire a shot if they have to, but that’s viewed as a failure to them and is only brought about as an absolute last resort. So what is involved with their modus operandi? Because of the CCP’s Art of War approach they have worked to implement their nefarious, yet clever global plans in a way that works to capture the U.S. elites and the manufacturing base of the United States. Additionally the CCP’s goals have been to simultaneously create as much stress for the United States as possible. For example the CCP has engaged in full blown expansionism along with implementing information, economic, biological, and chemical warfare against the United States. They directly engage in chemical warfare with the U.S. through their production of fentanyl and their support of...

Be One.” –Marcus Aurelius The term Renaissance means revival, or rebirth. Keep this in mind as I expand on today’s topic. In the current environment and state of the world we’ve witnessed an extraordinary clash between two giant forces that has occurred in the last four years. On one side of these clashing forces we’ve witnessed what I would refer to as the status quo of an ever expanding government and corrupt Administrative State. This side of the force is filled with rent seeking do nothing politicians, corrupt bureaucrats, stochastic terrorists, and their base of violent supporters. It should also be noted that the majority of their supporters contain vacuous minds. On the opposite side of that force has always been the stalwart of citizens who have always believed in the opportunity of the system that they’ve been an integral part of, but who have always had the common sense to call out that system and question it when it has failed in their eyes. All the true patriots are part of this side of this opposition force and they have always recognized the corruption within our American system and have quickly become aware of the era of reverse plunder over the past four years. However, the unfortunate reality is that this side also contains a portion of those people who possess vacuous minds and fail to recognize the warring clash that is taking place within the current time we’re living in during this moment in history. The good news is that the reality of the world is coming to everyone’s front door whether they currently recognize the present circumstances as they are, or not. So why do I say this is good news? In my view society shouldn’t define men, but rather men should define a society. In other words, the type of society that exists in which one resides is the result of the type of men who live, work, and lead that society. Leadership is everything and it ALWAYS directly results in the success, or failure, of any organization, company, community, or government. There’s a brilliant quote that sums up this historical cycle that I’ve touched on before by G. Michael Hopf who states the following. “Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times.” This is such a simple, yet such an edifying way to communicate the reality of the cycle of history. Just in case you happen to be one of those with vacuous minds on either side of these clashing forces, the period we’re in now is the part where Hard times are about to create strong men. Man of Action Unless you’ve been living under a rock it’s pretty easy to see that President Trump is a man of action. Men of action are what will build a successful society, but this is the area that I want to touch on in today’s episode. If you’ve been a regular reader, or listener to my platform then you’ve often heard me talk about the importance of action and a man’s actions, especially in a time of peril like we’re living in, really stand out. President Trump is one of the absolute best examples of this given our current time in history. On that note there’s something I’ve observed on the side of the...

The Devil's Trick

To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber. “The world is full of obvious things which nobody by any chance ever observes.” ― Arthur Conan Doyle For today’s episode I wanted to talk about a very unique and different type of subject. As a general concern I have been feeling like this topic needs to be discussed because the frequency of this subject is only intensifying throughout our culture and media landscape to a noticeably high level. Because of this I feel like this is important for us to be aware of and to stay on guard regarding our faith in God and how we perceive this subject as it continues to bombard the public stage. I wanted to lead off to clarify why I decided to talk about this particular subject because the reason that I decided to address this topic today is because the subject matter does impact the cultural, political landscape, and potentially even the spiritual landscape in a way unlike anything else. This particular topic is one that has been present in the media and culture for quite some time, but has recently been picking up more and more momentum. As crazy as it may sound this particular topic has continued to escalate in terms of its presence in the culture so much that it has been addressed directly in front of congress, but the nature of the subject has always been cloaked in a shroud of mystery. It’s because of the mystery that surrounds this subject that serves to be the reason I wanted to address it here in today’s episode to the best of my ability. The reason I say it that way is because the subject involves a lot of different possible hypotheses and theories that have been offered up to explain this unusual phenomenon, but despite this the mystery that surrounds it still remains. With all of that being said I would like for today’s episode to be an exercise that both demonstrates the process of searching for the truth, as well as being a possible catalyst to foster a new methodology within yourself. The goal is that hopefully this new methodology will work to improve your own process for seeking out truth and knowledge by more effectively evaluating evidence that is presented to you. In simple terms, I hope this stimulates your creative process to help you to arrive at your own conclusions when it comes to any topic that is brought forth in the media. My effort in discussing this is to simply offer my own interpretation as I currently see it and is merely a proposed interpretation of the subject, or a hypothesis if you will, to try and make sense of something that most everyone sees and understands to be an ongoing mystery. By the way, despite my proposed explanation here in this episode I also see this as an ongoing mystery myself. So back in 1993 I saw a movie that was a bit disturbing. This particular film was disturbing because it was based on a true story which involved the story of Travis Walton and his experience involving alien abduction. The name of the movie was Fire In The Sky and I remember when I saw this movie it wasn’t like any other movie that covered the topic of UFOs and aliens at that time. No, the thing that made this movie different was the more personalized experience and realistic nature of the story in the way it was presented. The wild experience wasn’t just coming from Travis alone, but also directly involved other friends and coworkers of his that had allegedly witnessed a UFO ship in the middle of a forest region near where they were working on a logging job at the time. All of these other men were witnesses and present during the experience just before Travis was taken away by the UFO. Now I’m not going to go too deep into the details of this movie, but if you haven’t seen this film it’s definitely worth the watch. You see, the real point I want to make about this film is that when it came out in 1993 to my memory there had not been any...

A MAD Scenario To Ponder

2/26/2025
The Official Substack Of Brandon Richey is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber. “I gain nothing by having a rock in my boxing glove if the other fellow has one too." - Sir Denis Nayland Smith” ― Sax Rohmer For anyone with half a brain, the past few years have caused a lot of concern with the state of the world due to the geopolitical instability and escalation of World War III along with the failing financial institutions, the prospect of nuclear conflict, and with the rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI). In light of all the recent discoveries by DOGE uncovering all the vast corruption by people that have been put in charge of the country for many years, combined with the fact that these people’s decisions have directly resulted in making the world a more dangerous place, is chilling to think about. I mean the thought that we, as a society, have allowed these nihilists and psychopathic overlords to govern, control, and directly influence the geopolitical landscape is mind blowing to say the least. It’s during moments like this that we have to look to the past to remove the fog and to gain a sound perspective in order to understand the present so that we can then better navigate the path when looking downrange towards the future. Speaking of the past, back in 1962 the Cuban missile crisis brought the world to the brink of nuclear annihilation. During this time the U.S. Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara had previously promoted a counterforce, or a “no cities” strategy which involved the strategic targeting of Soviet military units and other various installations. Under this model and line of thinking it was believed that perhaps a nuclear conflict of limited scope could actually be carried out, and even won, without it leading to an all out nuclear exchange resulting in total destruction. Of course, for this strategy to actually work it would rely on both superpowers actually abiding by the rule of such a limited warfighting strategy. However, at the end of the day neither side believed that the other superpower would be willing to adhere to such rules. So in 1965 McNamara proposed a countervalue doctrine that shifted the focus of targeting onto Soviet cities. In this proposed scenario McNamara pointed out that this doctrine of “assured destruction” could be achieved with as few as 400 high-yield nuclear weapons targeting various Soviet population centers. In terms of a proposed outcome using this approach McNamara estimated that this would be “sufficient to destroy over one-third of [the Soviet] population and one-half of [Soviet] industry.” (Source: Britannica) With this approach McNamara was pointing out that with this guarantee of mutual annihilation that this strategy would serve as an effective deterrent to both parties. In addition to this he believed that this goal of maintaining destructive parity should guide U.S. defense decisions. Now even though McNamara proposed this strategy while basing this tenuous equilibrium on the assured-destruction capability of the U.S. arsenal the term mutual assured destruction, or its recognized acronym “MAD” wasn’t actually coined by McNamara himself. Instead that recognized phrase was coined by an opponent to McNamara’s doctrine and his name was Donald Brennan. Brennan proposed that trying to preserve an indefinite stalemate would end up doing very little to secure U.S. defense long term. In Brennan’s view such a strategy wasn’t the best option given the fact that both players involving the United States and the Soviet Union would constantly end up planning in order to strive to gain a clear nuclear advantage over the other. Brennan’s outside of the box approach and line of thinking involved proposing an anti-ballistic missile defense system that’s aim would be to neutralize Soviet warheads in flight before they had a chance to detonate. This sounds very similar to President Trump’s plan...

Changing The Battlefield

If your opponent is temperamental, seek to irritate him. Pretend to be weak, that he may grow arrogant. If he is taking his ease, give him no rest. If his forces are united, separate them. If sovereign and subject are in accord, put division between them. Attack him where he is unprepared, appear where you are not expected .” ― Sun Tzu, The Art of War I’m sure you’ve watched a UFC fight here or there on one occasion or another. You may have even caught a fight that was exciting enough to bring the energy from the arena surrounding the fight directly into the entertainment area of your home. The thing is that if you follow UFC closely then you know that when it comes to the world of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) a fighter can look like he or she is about to lose until suddenly they’re able to gain some leverage and surprisingly turn the tables on the outcome. In many of these instances I’ve witnessed a fighter that was literally on the edge of total defeat only to suddenly flip the entire fight around by pulling and forcing the winning fighter into a position where they are weaker in order to gain the upper hand and totally snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. To back up a little bit when I was growing up as a GenX kid, like all other GenX kids, I was raised on hard hitting action movies during the cultural era when the action hero was the dominating figure at the box office. The truth is that this involved being exposed to a lot of Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris movies which ultimately led to me training in the fight discipline of Muay Thai. In addition to all of that it was back in the 1990s when both myself and a handful of my closest friends would get together to watch some of the first Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) tournaments. This was no doubt the wildest and most entertaining thing I’ve ever seen in my life and in those days the UFC was a completely different animal. In fact, it was recognized as the wild west of sports. You see, the entire reason UFC started in the first place was to satisfy the age old question of which martial arts, or which fight discipline was the dominant discipline. In other words, if you put a Kung Fu master in the ring against a Karate master who would win? If you placed an American Wrestler in the ring to face off against a Kickboxer then who would come out on top? The formation of the UFC was an objective attempt at answering this age old question regarding the most effective fight disciplines. Of course, as time went on it became clear that the most effective fighters were those who ended up possessing experience in a blend, or mix, of disciplines where they had training in both effective stand up striking abilities combined with a solid ability of being able to get on the ground to grapple, hence the name Mixed Martial Arts. Despite all of this the reality is that these UFC fighters are like chess masters. They understand their strengths and they are very good at exploiting the weakness of an opponent. This is the entire strategy of a great fighter on top of being tough as nails and conditioned for the art of fighting. Now having said all of that I pointed out how fighters are good at looking to exploit their opponent’s weakness. To add on to this I will also say that the best fighters are also great at frustrating their opponents which often forces their opponents to act hastily further causing their opponent to expose a vulnerability that they can take advantage of in a given moment. In other words, if a great fighter isn’t seeing an opening to exploit in a certain opponent then they will use certain tactics to frustrate their opponent (as the Sun Tzu quote at the beginning suggests) until that opponent gets...

Just get people to stop reading them.” ― Ray Bradbury Have you ever been in a situation where you happen to walk into a room and pretty much right away notice the energy in that room based on the vibe of the people occupying the room? I’ve been in this scenario more than a few times in my life and there have been times when I’ve entered the room and felt a positive vibe and there have been times when I’ve entered a room and immediately encountered a negative vibe. The reason I’m bringing this up is that in these situations there’s no denying the reality that as people we have an ability to hone in on our environment and to assess that environment based on the energy output and behavior of other people. It’s a very interesting human trait, but is one that’s probably as intrinsic as any other instinct designed for the purpose of survival. Speaking of survival this is an instinct that is deeply ingrained into the fabric of our being. In fact, your nervous system is a prime example of this. So why do I say this? When looking at your nervous system it’s basically binary in its design because of the sympathetic and parasympathetic make up of your autonomic nervous system. In regards to your survival mode your nervous system basically consists of your sympathetic nervous system (SNS) which involves the instinct, or ability for it to trigger your “fight or flight” response to prepare you for stressful situations. When your SNS is triggered it increases your heart rate and blood pressure to deliver oxygen and blood to your organs and working muscles. During this time it will also dilate your pupils to improve your vision in dim or dangerous conditions. It also stimulates the production of adrenaline and noradrenaline hormones to further enhance your fight-or-flight mode to help you in whatever moment of danger you may find yourself in. To dive deeper on the key component of your body being honed in on the state of survival there’s another very impressive and mysterious trait that you possess that you may not be aware of concerning your sensory perception. When looking at the function of your senses this involves your somatic nervous system. As you may be aware when talking about your senses you are probably aware of the usual five senses that you possess and use on a normal day to day basis involving your sight, sound, taste, touch, and smell. However, you do possess a sixth sense. So what do I mean when I say that you have a sixth sense? That’s right, you do actually have a sixth sense and I’ve discussed this before on an earlier episode, but I will include an excerpt from that episode here. Your sixth sense is what is known as proprioception. You see within your muscles, joints, and tendons you have proprioceptors which are sensory receptors that signal external feedback to you from your environment. This function works so that you understand the location of your body in relation to other people and other things in space. This is a key sense to have so that you don’t accidentally run into things and people when...

When you were growing up, were there people in your life that were often regarded as being the smart kids, or people most likely to succeed, that have proven to be absolute morons as you were able to observe their online behavior here in the past four years? Of these people, how many of them are currently a part of a big corporate system and how many actually went out and blazed their own trail in life by starting their own business? Of those people that actually did start their own business, how many of them built a business off their own capital without having to lean on some government subsidy in order to operate their venture? Take a moment and really think about these questions as you remember those people who were praised in your communities and in your schools, but proved to be completely clueless about the world, history, philosophy, and geopolitics in the last four years. The reason I’m asking you to do this is to relay a very important point to you and that point is that the mistake of misplacing hype and misplacing credit to people that don’t deserve it has been a huge mistake that our American culture has been completely guilty of repeating over and over and over again for far too long now. This mistake has been prevalent everywhere and it’s been something that I’ve been aware of my entire life, but haven’t really thought about it as deeply as I have until the last four years. Of course, given the course of both society and the world in these last four years it’s been quite stunning to me as to just how clueless many of these so-called “smart folks” really are and have been when observing their behavior in the last few years. If you’ve been paying attention to the world since Biden took office then you can see where meritocracy has been something that has taken a backseat to identity politics and a culture that has been persistent in pushing a belief system that you aren’t capable of solving your own problems. This victimhood mindset is bad enough, but because of it as a society we have managed to create an entire ecosystem around the absurd illusion of embracing that victimhood as a badge of honor. Even more absurd than that is the reality that the corrupt and useless systems in which we have managed to create have laid the foundational narrative that the victimhood mindset is the norm in our modern day Zeitgeist. This has happened due to the fact that those people I mentioned earlier regarding the so-called smart people were merely mouthpieces that were groomed for the system that was built on this current societal victimhood foundation. These sorts of people are what I’d refer to as being system operatives which are merely people that work within a system to perpetuate the system that was built for them to operate. The idea is that these people can work well within the system that they are in, but if you’re able to pull them out of said system their ability to adapt and overcome a new environment would prove to be very difficult for them. These people aren’t Mavericks that are used to blazing their own trail, but rather system operatives that are comfortable and effective working within the fake environment that was built for them to maintain and prop up. This environment of a woke Corporate America has steadily been moved away from meritocracy and has instead managed to morph into a modern day version of ancient Japanese feudalism that has been combined with technology to give rise to what is...

And brother, it’s starting to rain. — on a t-shirt being sold by a Bangkok street vendor” Jake Needham, And Brother It’s Starting to Rain Having been a small business owner now for twenty years I can tell you for a fact that the customer is not always right. That old quote is one of the biggest fallacies that exist when it comes to running a business. Now don’t get me wrong, the customer definitely carries some significant weight for every business, however it’s always up to the business owner to assess that customer’s weight in order to determine whether or not that customer is worthy of engaging in a business transaction either temporarily, or for an ongoing basis. Now, you’re probably thinking to yourself Brandon, what exactly do you mean? First of all, if you’re a business owner, or more specifically a small business owner, you want to develop a great relationship with your customers, as well as other businesses that you might deal with. This should go without saying, but the relationship between a small business and their customer base is of vital importance because that relationship is one that allows the business to provide a quality product, or service, to that customer on a consistent basis so that the business owner is profitable. This is important so that they can remain solvent and the customer can always walk away happy and fulfilled with the product and/or service that they paid for. However, what about those circumstances that occur when the customer proves to be difficult to deal with? Additionally, what if the customer proves to be so difficult that they cost the business more money, time, and energy than they are worth? Believe me this happens from time to time and in these circumstances the customer can surely demonstrate why they aren’t always right, or correct, in the midst of a business transaction. In this scenario it’s probably better for the business owner to choose to do limited business with such a customer, or to simply walk away from the customer altogether. The same thing can be said with business to business relationships as well. A good example of this would be like that time we all heard the story of the Christian baker that chose not to bake the cake for the gay couple that wanted to get married. In this case the business owner made the decision not to compromise on their faith and bake the cake although they still offered to assist the couple in finding another alternative so that they could get their cake. This ultimately resulted in the customer suing the business and resorting to using lawfare to force that business to run their business the way they (the customer) believed it should be run. You see this is a perfect example of why the customer isn’t always right. If you say Brandon had they just gone ahead with baking the cake then they wouldn’t have had to endure a lawsuit, right? You may, or may not be correct, but that’s a cowardice option to consider. I mean slow down and think about this. What would it say about any of us who practice our faith whether that be Christianity, Judaism, or Buddhism that would encounter a customer that had some request that was in direct conflict with our faith and belief system, yet we chose to cave and do what was demanded of us by a hostile customer? In addition to this if you are a self-proclaimed freedom loving American the media would focus on the so-called freedom of the customers in this example, but what about the freedoms of the business owner? How much money, time, sacrifice, and energy did the customer that was wanting to force the baker to bake the cake contribute to that business? The answer to that is absolutely zero. In fact, they only contributed a loss as they resorted to using...
