The Lakers continued the road trip in Chi-Town as they faced the Bulls on Monday night. And while it wasn't the most comfortable of wins, the Lakers managed to take a slim first-quarter lead and stretch it out with strong play from LeBron James (24 points) and forcing ten turnovers in the second to give the team a double-digit lead in the half. Chicago though, did their best to close the gap in the third, going on a run that would get them within one, but Luka Doncic (46 points, 12 assists) scoring 20 in the third and Rui Hachimura (23 points, 9-11 overall, 4-5 from 3) coming off the bench on fire helped pad the lead once again just enough to keep the Bulls from charging once again and get the 129-118 victory. The Lakers continue the road trip and end Rivals Week in the NBA with a stop on Saturday night in the big D as they face Luka's former team, the Dallas Mavericks. And bucking the trend from recent games, the Lakers did get out to a double-digit first-half advantage. But prosperity didn't hold (as was the team's focus) as they proceeded to get outscored on a Dallas 41-14 run to put the Lakers' chances of winning in peril. The Lakers continue the road trip, with a stop close to home as the team shuttles down the road to Inglewood and the Intuit Dome to face their crosstown rival, the LA Clippers, as part of the NBA's Rivals Week. And the rivalry didn't start well for the Lakers as another poor first half turned into a 26-point advantage for the Clippers. On what should have been an off day for the Lakers was anything but, as ESPN published a story from Baxter Holmes taking a deeper look at the sale of the team by the Buss family to Mark Walter. Not only did the story go into detail about the internal strife within the family, but what Jeanie allegedly said to Jesse that has the internet ablaze, and other possible ideas for a partial sale of the team as well. The Lakers on Thursday night looked to put some distance between themselves and the Suns and Rockets as they faced the Charlotte Hornets in the Crypt.
