A Total Eclipse of Our Hearts

3/31/2024
Primary Scripture: Mark 7:18-23 Song of the Week: 'ME AGAIN' © Mark D. Ingram / RevWrite Music In this week's 'Words of Life' broadcast / podcast in lieu of eternity, Pastor Mark invites you on a celestial journey, from the onset of sin to the light of salvation, through the prism of an eclipse. We delve into the heart of our spiritual struggle, grasping the truth JESUS explained to those who would listen that 'defilement' originates not simply from the fallen world around us, but primarily from within. Within the 2nd synoptic gospel (Mark), we navigate what religious and ritual hypocrisy looks like when it threatens to interfere with our daily walk with GOD. Through the lens of personal anecdotes and scriptural context, we uncover the pitfalls of counterfeit worship and the essence of a relationship with God built on sincerity and truth. Pastor Mark shares a poignant anecdote of misguided piety, reminding us that our actions must resonate with the spirit of our Creator. This episode isn't just about recognizing our flaws; it's a call to genuine self-reflection and a reminder of the daily need for confession, rooted in the hope and redemption offered by Jesus Christ, our only mediator to the Almighty. In closing, we gather in prayerful meditation, acknowledging our human frailty and the ceaseless grace of God. Pastor Mark's heartfelt invocation stirs within us a longing to fulfill our role as beacons of light and salt in a world in need of His love and guidance. With 'the total eclipse of our hearts' reconciled through GOD'S gracious gift of JESUS, eternal hope is a reality. This week's broadcast / podcast isn't simply a message; it's an invitation to stand with us, in the fullness of frailty, faith, and humility, as we aspire to live in the warmth of His eternal promise. Join us in this episode for a stirring call to foster the personal and profound relationship with our Savior that will sustain us since JESUS alone, is the only Mediator able to 'blot out' the total eclipse of our hearts for eternity. What Is Love? featuring Twala Ingram's 'Biblical Thoughts'

1/31/2024
On this week's broadcast / podcast of 'Biblical Thoughts', join us as we embark with our featured guest, Mrs. La'Kendra Jackson, on a soul-stirring quest to the heart of one of our most cherished emotions: love. This engaging conversation elevates the understanding of love beyond the simple warmth of affection, as we evaluate the virtues of patience, kindness, and resilience that compose the essence of 'love.' Twala's message is undergirded by 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, the primary scripture that sketches a compelling portrait of GOD'S unyielding love, framing it not as a fleeting sentiment but as intentional, steadfast actions that we must endeavor to practice, to impact humanity. During this episode, we wrap our minds around the concept of 'agape' love, the Divine, unconditional love that God showers upon us and calls us to emulate with every soul GOD allows within our sphere of influence. Twala and La'Kendra bring their profound insights to our topic, shedding light on the tangible manifestations of this divine love in the everyday and how it shapes our marriages, guides our parenting, and molds our daily encounters. By amplifying the enduring commandment to love others as Jesus loves us, the message offers our viewers and listeners, a powerful reflection of how to infuse our lives with a love that doesn't just endure but transforms, inviting us to cultivate agape love, regardless of life's fluctuating paths or encounters. Curtains - Going Beyond Sight

12/23/2023
Have you ever considered the deeper meaning behind the curtains that grace the windows of our homes? Join me, Pastor Mark, as we uncover the symbolism of curtains and their parallel to our spiritual walk. In this week's broadcast / podcast (in lieu of eternity), we connect the ordinary act of selecting curtains—those transformative pieces in our decor—and the extraordinary transitions we will encounter - @ death. With a focus on the pivotal moment when the temple curtain was torn at Jesus' crucifixion, we're invited to meditate on the newfound access to God this symbolizes and what it reveals about the temporary time that remains, with the one life granted to us (by GOD) as we approach our ultimate judgement. As the message unfolds, we reflect on the Roman centurion's response to the crucifixion, a timeless lesson about maintaining an attitude of gratitude and praise, even in the midst of our despair. This poignant realization beckons personal introspection as we discuss the essence of praise through our darkest trials, understanding that God's worthiness transcends our circumstances. The essence of commitment is considered as well, challenging us to consider the allegiances that we have committed our lives to. Through our 'call to action' application points, the message encourages a heartfelt examination of the irreversible choices we have made once the threshold of eternity (death) is crossed, inspiring our viewers and listeners the necessity of committing to GOD, prior to our curtains (lives) being taken down. Eternal Things

11/10/2023
Are you living for now or for eternity? Are you letting temporary distractions steal your focus from what truly matters? In this week's 'Words of Life' message, in lieu of eternity, we tackle these poignant questions in our broadcast + podcast, drawing from the wisdom of GOD'S WORD. HIS perspective challenges us to reconsider the definition of true success and worth, pushing us to realign our worldview with an eternal perspective. Within our exegesis & transition, we confront our innate desire to be accepted, recognized, to achieve and to win. Therefore, we revisit forerunners like John the Baptist and Moses, who embraced obscurity and found their purpose in glorifying GOD, through the work bestowed upon each. It's a journey that explores our human tendency to doubt ourselves, our self-esteem, and to even seek validation from others. Yet, GOD wants us to transform these desires into dedicated and consistent service for glorifying and pointing others to HIM, through JESUS alone. Finally, we challenge ourselves with each application point to assess our contentment and purpose in GOD, even when perceived earthly successes (i.e. - notoriety, wealth, promotion, or even good health), elude us. We pray that if you will tune in to this week's message, via broadcast or podcast, you will be able to evaluate where you currently stand (in GOD'S eyes) with... Traffic

9/6/2023
In this week’s episode, in lieu of eternity, we delve into a topical sermon (traffic) that is very easy to get stuck in or ensnarled by. The Hebrew rendition of a word within our opening text, indicates the feeling of the road ahead of us, being - vexed, hindered or restricted, without GOD'S guidance, wisdom and grace. We thank GOD for JESUS because HE is the way – THE ONLY WAY - out of that which is symbolic of our lives (traffic) in lieu of eternity. TRAFFIC Proverbs 4:12 Song of the Week: YOU Are JESUS feat. The Virtuous Woman feat. Twala D. Ingram's 'Biblical Thoughts'

8/20/2023
The 31st Book of Proverbs challenges with this query: "who can find a virtuous woman?" It is not beauty which defines nor is it necessarily marriage or the lack thereof concerning marital bliss. Yet, it is the woman who seeks after and fears GOD that acquires GOD'S blessedness and favor. Tune in to 'Biblical Thoughts' w/ Twala D. The Playground, Desert, or Beach - Which Season Are You In?

5/31/2023
Within this week's message in lieu of eternity... GOD references 'sand' as the boundary which HE placed that causes waves to obey HIS command. Through Jeremiah, GOD says to HIS people, “even the roaring, loud, billowing waves obey MY commands and I even use sand to stop its forward progress so that the waves of the sea can only go so far…” GOD (soon thereafter) contrasts the waves being subject to HIS voice with the disobedient, stubborn, and rebellious nature of HIS people, and HE uses this phrase to indicate such: "But MY people...?" GOD uses sand to play a significant role in holding back destruction and its symbolism remains just as poignant today, as it does in our opening scripture. REUNITED

1/27/2023
'RE' (prefix) - again; in a different way; back to how something was before; backward recall. Example - 're'-vive: to bring back to life; to restore. At death, our bodies will 're'-turn to dust and our eternal spirits will 're'-turn to THE ONE (GOD) who gave it, to receive HIS pronouncement in one of two phrases: 1. "Well done my good and faithful servant..." 2. "Depart from me - I never knew you." It is our purpose and duty of life to secure JESUS as the sole Savior who remedies our sin issue and prepares us for an unavoidable, predestined moment of meeting THE ONLY, ALMIGHTY GOD of all, prior to death. As we yet live and our days dwindle towards eternity? Our choice. Our future. Forever. Please - plan accordingly. REUNITED Genesis 2:7 ♫ Song of the Week - YOU Found Me © Mark D. DIRECTIONS

1/27/2023
This week's 'Words of Life' in lieu of eternity... 'Directions' - a path one follows or an action implemented based upon instructions provided. My high school students follow a specific set of directives which I provide, to guide them with inserting a sterile needle into one of 3 veins within the antecubital fossa, which allows a safe, efficient and proficient venipuncture attempt with their peers. Without the purposed intent of following my provided instructions, each would readily admit: "Mr. Ingram, I am lost and don't how and I certainly don't know the way to get to where I need to be - prior to my phlebotomy certification exam." Thomas exhibited a similar transparent honesty (to Jesus) as they were stunned by His preparing them for His departure. Yet, Jesus not only reassured them, He also gave them directions with a proper set of instructions to guide them to where they would eventually be eternally. Are we like Thomas in that we can readily admit: "do I truly know the ONLY safe route to eternity or am I wandering along aimlessly, still being 'lost' in the process?" ROADBLOCKS

7/18/2022
In this week's 'Words Of Life' message, in lieu of eternity... As Jesus prepared for His impending death, resurrection and ascension back to Father GOD, the disciples didn't easily accept this message. Thomas then spoke what others were probably thinking, "...we have no idea where You are going - let alone, know how to get there... why leave now?" Jesus lovingly replied and gently conveyed to them the need for His departure to usher in the sanctifying work of Holy Spirit who could not come to them unless Jesus departed. Jesus knew that their dependency on Him needed to shift as He symbolically conveys (paraphrased), "I will not hinder the spiritual growth, wisdom and power that you must be endued with to accomplish the work ahead of you - I will not be a 'roadblock' to the deeper intimacy with Father GOD, via Holy Spirit, that you now need." Message Challenge: Is there anyone or anything in our lives that can be identified as 'roadblocks' hindering a daily, intimate, power-infused relationship with GOD? Understanding Affliction: Affliction Originates From Within

4/4/2022
On this week's broadcast / podcast episode of Words of Life, we conclude our four-part series: UNDERSTANDING AFFLICTION. Within this week's message, we challenge one another with introspection because sometimes, it's not another person - it's not satan nor is GOD to blame. There are times that 'affliction' originates from within our deceitfully wicked hearts and it's at times like these that we must challenge ourselves to simply admit: "it's me - it's me - it's me O LORD 🎹🎤 standing in the need of prayer!" Understanding Affliction: Affliction Assails Us Through 'People'

3/6/2022
People. GOD loves 'us' more than anything. HE is patient. Merciful. Longsuffering. HIS loving attributes towards us are innumerable. And yet, our ability to withstand 'offense' from those we interact with daily, doesn't always measure up if we're honest and introspective with our efforts. Understanding Affliction: Affliction Emanates From Satan

2/12/2022
In episode 1, we studied our understanding of affliction being a necessary component of our sanctification, in lieu of eternity, and why GOD lays affliction upon those who belong to HIM. Within our 2nd episode of the series, we study why we should become 'proactive instead of reactive' when our adversary (satan) buffets us (with affliction) but for totally different reasons. Oftentimes, we are reactive instead of being proactive when we feel attacked, misunderstood or maybe even being the subject of untruths.
