Dafne Macias, an English major at East Los Angeles College, shares two of her poems with host Obed Silva. Macias is transferring in the Fall of 2018 to the University of California system. Her goal is to become a professor of literature.

Natalie Morales, adjunct professor at East LA College and Pasadena City College, shares three poems with host Obed Silva. She has been penning poems since the age of 10, and she is currently working on a chapbook of visual poems. Morales is also an editor of the Pomona Valley Review

Fernando Jimenez, Associate Professor of English at East Los Angeles College (ELAC), shares excerpts from his story "Chin On Chest" and discusses diversity within the Latino community with host Obed Silva. Jimenez, who grew up in East Los Angeles, currently teaches courses in Humanities, Composition and Literature in the Department of English.

Monserrat G. Aguilar, a transfer student from East Los Angeles College (ELAC) to UC Santa Cruz, shares a poem titled "The Perfect Woman". Aguilar is an undocumented scholar majoring in Literature. She fell in love with reading as child learning a new language, but never thought about writing creatively until her last semester at ELAC. Her career goal is to become an English professor.
