Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche: His Life as a Tertön

In our final episode, I sit down with former student of Trungpa Rinpoche, Judith Simmer-Brown. We get her personal take on Trungpa's legacy: as a teacher, a tertön, and all-around larger-than-life figure.

In this episode, we continue the journey of Chögyam Trungpa as he leaves his homeland to eventually teach the dharma in the West. In 1968, the great terma text The Sadhana of Mahamudra is revealed to him in Bhutan. In the years following, he receives more mind terma that comprise the Shambhala teachings.

This episode covers the reports of Karma Senge Rinpoche, Trungpa's nephew, who collected Trungpa's early terma from his life in Tibet.

I also give a historical account of what it means to be a tertön, or a "treasure revealer" in the Nyingma lineage of Tibetan Buddhism.
