The Serpent On The Pole: The Story of our Great Redemption- #20
7/29/2025
Pronto viene en nuestro idioma:
This is one of 34 short messages taught by using my book "The Story of Our Great Redemption" as my preaching notes!
Everybody in the Church at large has heard of John 3:16:
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.(John 3:16 NKJV)
Have you heard this next verse before?
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up. (John 3:14 NKJV)
That was John 3:14, a rarely quoted verse in the same teaching of Jesus to Nicodemus. Yes, that is only two verses before John 3:16, yet it is seldom used or quoted.
Mostly, in Holy Spirit-baptized (tongues- talking), healing-believing circles, this verse is used to refer to divine healing. The connection to healing should be obvious, but there is much more.
Notice the emphasis of Jesus on using the serpent on a pole as referring to His death on the cross. Why would He use the serpent as a symbol of His sacrifice, and not refer to Himself as the spotless Lamb of God on the cross? No question that He was the spotless Lamb of God offered up for us as a sacrifice (1 Peter 1:19), but then something evil and sinister happened to Jesus on the cross that merited identification with the serpent. We study this powerful truth as it relates to His sacrifice for us.
Be mightily blessed!

Download the free book that was the basis for most of this study, “The Story of our Great Redemption: Beyond Human Imagination!” That's the link to get the free 194-page book. I've published five different versions on this subject since 1977. The latest 2013 version in Spanish,“Tres Días y Tres Noches en el Corazón de la Tierra” is 290 pages long. Obviously, the Lord taught me a few more things from His Word. That is the most complete version I have published. In its pages are many of the extra things I brought out in these podcasts that were not in previous versions. Get the free "Tres Días..." PDF here. Glory to God!

Did the Soul Of Jesus Descend to Hades After His Death on the Cross?
Scripture, 2 partial articles, and the Early Church Fathers on this mighty Subject
Most of what follows was generated with Google AI. It was extremely easy to find. AI also generated some interesting articles that I included partially. I didn't add these references in my books on this majestic subject published since 1977 and 1978 in Spanish and English, and then in 2010, 2011, and 2014. I've published 5 books on the subject. Thankfully, my printed books on the subject have found their way to Bible schools, Bible studies, Pastors, Ministers, and other believers around the world.
I've based myself in my books on Scripture references as the Lord has taught me over the years. It is important to note that I am certainly not alone in teaching this subject from the Old and New Testament. The earliest scriptural reference goes back to the prophetic Word in Psalms 16:10 and in other references I quote from the book of Psalms. Peter taught on Jesus descending into Hades in the first recorded message after the Holy Spirit fell in Acts 2:24-31.
Many of the early Ante-Nicene Fathers, such as Ignatius of Antioch, Polycarp, Justin Martyr, Tertullian, and Irenaeus of Lyons, believed that Christ descended to the realm of the dead, which they often equated with Hades or Sheol. It is important to note that the interpretation of Christ's descent to the dead varied among early Christian writers, with different understandings of the precise nature and purpose of this descent. However, the concept of a descent to the realm of the dead was widely accepted, and passages like Acts 2:24-31 played a role in shaping this understanding.

Aquellos Que No Conocen La Historia Están Condenados A Repetirla
7/21/2025
(The Life of Reason, 1905.)

Receiving the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and Speaking in Tongues
8/8/2024
The purpose of this article is to build faith, dispel unbelief, and prepare anybody to receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and tongues. Many will receive from the Lord when their particular question is answered. Others will receive as they begin to see this awesome truth in the Word. Others will receive as they hear the teaching. Get ready to receive the moment you begin to hear and receive the Word! Jesus is the Baptizer in the Holy Spirit and He is ready today to baptize you in His Spirit!
The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is the next step when you come to Jesus and make Him Lord of your life. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is the entrance into the supernatural manifestations of God. People without this glorious baptism will NEVER make it in these final hours of the church upon the earth. There is too much to do, and it will take POWER to do it! There are billions that are hell bound that have to be reached. There are sick people all around us that need God's healing power. There are people bound by addictions, perversions, and all forms of darkness that need the delivering power of God. How are these things to come to the billions that need it? It will come about on earth by the hands, words, and actions of believers empowered by the Holy Spirit! (Acts 1:8, 2:1-4; 10:44-46; 19:1-20; Mark 16:15-20; 1 Corinthians 12:7-11; 14:1-5, 14, 18, 39)
If you are satisfied with the new birth and think that is all God has for you, then you are missing a powerful blessing promised by the Lord to all believers. God has much for you! The Baptism of the Holy Spirit, with the manifestation of speaking in other tongues, is what opens the door to infinite possibilities with God. We will show you what the Bible says about it, and then it will be up to you to receive this glorious experience.
And suddenly there came from heaven a sound as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them tongues as of fire splitting off (into individual fires); and these sat upon each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. (Acts 2:3, 4)
The apostles and all the people that gathered (120 individuals) had already received the Holy Spirit into their lives and hearts. They had already been regenerated and received Jesus as their Lord before Acts 2:4. Can we prove this?
The doors were shut where the disciples were gathered... Jesus came and stood in the middle of them, and said to them, “Peace (shalom) to you!” And after He said that, He showed them His hands and His side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw it was the Lord! Then Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you. As My Father has sent me, even so I send you.” And when He had said this, He breathed on them and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit. (John 20:19-22)
Notice that they received the Holy Spirit at this time. This was before Jesus ascended visibly into heaven. They received the Spirit of Christ as it says in Romans 8:9-11, and the Holy Spirit came inside them, and they were born of the Spirit. Yet, Jesus explained to them that something else was needed from the Holy Spirit to empower them and propel them into the supernatural things of God. Right before His ascension into heaven He said:
I send the promise of My father on you. But stay in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high. (Luke 24:49)
Jesus was saying that receiving the Holy Spirit inside of them (the new birth) was not all that there was to the promise of the Father. God had more in mind for His people. God wanted more for them than only an internal and personal experience with God. Power would come from on high to rest on His people. It would be a glorious external manifestation worn like a coat or a suit of clothes.
The one believing in me as the Scripture said, out of his belly will flow rivers of living water. But He said this concerning the Spirit...

PART 2- The Story of Redemption-Tres Días y Noches en el Corazón de la Tierra
2/10/2024
Part 2!
Make sure you hear the preceding Part 1.
Preaching, teaching, and more is here on what the physical resurrection of Jesus from the dead means according to the Scripture. What better way to celebrate the sacrifice of Jesus than this? Study and pray over these truths about the sacrifice of Jesus so they become a reality in you. This is the GREATEST heroic story ever told! It makes all the supposed super heroes invented by men look lame and pathetically weak! There is NONE to compare to what Jesus did to the devil and his hordes! Here you have it in Spanish and in English.
The recorded message is in Spanish in two parts. This is Part Two. I pray that it will be a shocking and eye-opening message for all my Spanish listeners. It is a message of deliverance, salvation, and God's power to do the impossible. Be blessed!

(Also in English)
3/5/2023

2/11/2023
For all our Latin friends, family, and brethren on the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and Supernatural Tongues:

In Spanish: ”Redeemed From the Curse” book, and Recorded Message, ”The Name of Jesus”
12/17/2022
This anointed recording on the Name of Jesus IN SPANISH, was recorded in 2017. The Hands in Motion Studio (Brandon, Florida) under the brother and anointed Latin Music Grammy winner, Lannie Battistini, who was in the studio recording this as I preached and taught the Word. Lannie is my brother in law and like the blood brother I never had! He was gracious and gave some studio time at his music and production facilities for this recording. There were a few people present but it was mostly a closed session.
The book "Redimidos de la Maldición" was first published in 1983. I found the copy of the book today and decided to publish it now.

How To Get Out of Hell
6/29/2022
Let me tell you a true story….
I went down, down, down, into what felt like falling into a dark and narrow well. I couldn’t stop myself and the walls were beyond my reach. It was like plunging into a void with no bottom. The longer I fell, the hotter it got.
Suddenly, the fall into the well turned into a cavern that spread into an unending distance in every direction. I descended even further into the deep darkness and suffocating heat.
I saw the gates of hell. It was an entranceway, but it was more sinister than anything I ever imagined. The gates looked so hideous that no one would ever dare to touch it. The creatures portrayed on the gates seemed to move with my approach. Guarding the gate were dreadful demon creatures with many heads and tails. They were there to forbid anyone from getting too close to the gates or from leaving them once someone entered them.
As I approached the gateway, I could see on the other side the masses of human beings in a place of fire like a volcano of molten rock. The wails and screams coming from the people were overpowering. I felt all strength leave my limbs as I approached the excruciating heat. The people kept screaming out my name and telling me not to enter the gates, but I couldn’t stop myself. An unseen evil power forced me forward through the barrier.
People were burning up without dying. Fiery worms were crawling in and out of their never-dying bodies, and the stench of rotten burning flesh was nauseating! I kept vomiting, I didn’t know what the ghoulish goo coming out of me was, but each time I threw up I writhed in excruciating pain, and then I hurled again. It never stopped.
Ominous words above the gate were etched in hideous stones that glowed darkly with the reflection of hellish fire. The words leaped in giant relief, and a strange and utterly offensive substance oozed from each letter to the ground.
I just glanced without reading, but the words read themselves to me and seared my mind like a branding iron.
ALL WHO ENTER HERE WILL SUFFER THE FIRES OF HADES AND A FURTHER SECOND DEATH IN THE LAKE OF FIRE FOREVER AND EVER. YOU ARE ENTERING THE GARBAGE HEAP OF ALL REALMS, THE PLACE OF THE DEAD, THOSE DEAD TO GOD AND TO HIS SON. YOU ARE ABANDONED. NO PRAYERS ARE HEARD, AND THERE IS NO ESCAPE.
I looked closer at the people as I passed through the pernicious gates. My eyesight was failing, and it got so black before me that I could no longer see my extremities. The only light I could see was a momentary glance as the fire burned me and the ghoulish worms ate me up. I could see people in the distance in suffering and torment that was unfathomable. I could hear their blood curdling screams of pain. Oh, the horrors! I could not communicate with them even as I screamed in pain. I felt the horrendous pain shoot through me over and over in never ending crescendos of hate, loneliness, and hopelessness.
In all my life upon the earth, I never felt a chill darken my soul like this place of torment. I never felt the utter despair of eternal torment like I felt at that moment. All hope was gone. I would never see my family or friends, and I was hopelessly lost forever with no way out! Oh God, if only I could warn my family. If only I could tell my friends that there is heaven to gain and a very real hell to shun!
Momentarily, I glanced up and saw the wretched beggar Lazarus that used to sit by my gate and beg for my help. I had so much in life, but I squandered my chance for deliverance by denying God and His commandments. Yet, what is this I see? Lazarus is seated next to somebody up there. Who is that?
Suddenly, I knew! It is father Abraham! Maybe he will have mercy on me and send Lazarus to dip his finger in water and cool my tongue! I am tormented in these flames!
I called desperately with all the strength I had, but no one answered. I could see them, and they looked happy. They were not in torment! Lazarus had on the most beautiful clothes I ever saw. “Father Abraham, please...

Redemption from the Curse-Part 10
11/23/2021
Deuteronomy 28:15-68 and Galatians 3:13 should be a mainstay in the Christian life. The first because it reveals what was included in the curse, and the second because it tells us Christ redeemed us from the curse when He became a curse for us on the cross. This revelation from the Word will set you up for victory in so many ways! We can't emphasize these truths too much. They have gotten me out of many bad situations throughout my Christian life.
In this podcast, we look at highlights of this series, and how to answer the world's intrusion with the Word. We also look at the definition of the word "pestilence" from Deuteronomy 28. We are redeemed from sickness and disease, depression and all mental health diseases, terrorism, fear and dread, famine, and so on. We are also redeemed from death in all its forms. Did you know that under the curse was all kinds of business failure? Christ has redeemed us from the curse!

Redemption from the Curse-Part 9

We are redeemed from the curse of sickness and disease, and from death and all its forms as recorded in the major list of the curse in Deuteronomy 28:15-68. We are redeemed because Jesus became a curse for us. (Galatians 3:13) The curse in Deuteronomy 28:15-68, includes everything that kills, steals, and destroys human life. It includes lack and poverty, slavery and bondage, defeat in war, rape and kidnapping, and failure in every realm. The curse includes early death, where a person is not satisfied with long life. (Psalms 91:16) The curse is so pervasive that nothing evil is excluded from it. That is the how deep our redemption runs. We are redeemed from everything the devil was able to bring upon this earth as the destroyer!
Even though the curse is producing death and destruction over all the earth, we can walk free of its effects, NOW! Though we are still subject to physically dying, IF the Lord delays His return, we don't have to die with some stinking disease or because of some demonic accident! We die and go to heaven healed and whole, when our race is finished, and when the Lord and us are good and ready to go. I know that is an extremely controversial statement for the untaught, but it is SO scriptural that you would need satanic help to disbelieve or misunderstand it!
This podcast delves into all these things in some detail with many Scripture references. If you have not heard the other podcasts in this series, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? The list of all the podcast can be accessed from our home page at http://danalanrodriguez.com.

Redemption from the Curse-Part 8

Read these verses from Nehemiah 9 and notice the reoccurring pattern.
25And they took strong cities and a rich land, and possessed houses full of all goods, cisterns already dug, vineyards, olive groves, and fruit trees in abundance. So they ate and were filled and grew fat, and delighted themselves in Your great goodness. 26“Nevertheless they were disobedient and rebelled against You, cast Your law behind their backs and killed Your prophets, who testified against them to turn them to Yourself; and they worked great provocations. 27Therefore You delivered them into the hand of their enemies, who oppressed them; and in the time of their trouble, when they cried to You, You heard from heaven; and according to Your abundant mercies You gave them deliverers who saved them from the hand of their enemies. 28“But after they had rest, they again did evil before You. Therefore You left them in the hand of their enemies, so that they had dominion over them; yet when they returned and cried out to You, You heard from heaven; and many times You delivered them according to Your mercies, 29and testified against them, that You might bring them back to Your law. Yet they acted proudly, and did not heed Your commandments, but sinned against Your judgments,‘ which if a man does, he shall live by them. ’And they shrugged their shoulders. Stiffened their necks, and would not hear. 30 Yet for many years You had patience with them, and testified against them by Your Spirit in Your prophets. Yet they would not listen; therefore You gave them into the hand of the peoples of the lands. (Nehemiah 9:25-30 NKJV)
Did you see the pattern? God would bless them, they would backslide by disobedience to His commandments. It would anger the Lord, and He would turn them over to their enemies. The Israelites would get a belly full of their enemies, cry out for deliverance, God would send them a deliverer, they would be free for a little while and have rest, and then the whole thing would happen again and again! That is a very important Biblical pattern. It shows us a side of God’s judgment on sin among His people that many prefer not to discuss. Yes, it is also found in the New Testament, even in the epistles of Paul! The key to staying out of judgment over sin, where you are safe from the enemy, is simple. If you sin, JUDGE yourself, and you will not be judged. (1 Corinthians 11:28-33)
In this podcast, we study this clearly in relation to our redemption from the curse. Don’t miss it because it answers many questions and provides numerous scriptural examples for your study. These are waters seldom tread in modern Christianity.

Redemption from the Curse-Part 7

But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep. For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged. (1 Corinthians 11:28-31 NKJV)
We must understand that we have redemption from the curse because the body of Jesus was bruised and bloodied when He became a curse for us on the cross. These verses in their context reveal that if we don’t judge ourselves as ready and able in Christ to receive the redemption He provided, then judgment would eventually come. The judgment is a reference to the curse; weakness, sickness, and premature death (“sleep”). That is either misunderstood or completely unknown, but there it is, in black and white.
When we partake of the communion table, it is a reminder and a participation of the provisions of Jesus’ death. One of those provisions is Galatians 3:13.
Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us (because it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”.(Galatians 3:13 NET)
We continue to look at this Biblical idea of judgment. The bottom line is, IF we will judge ourselves, we will not be judged. Some people bring judgment on themselves because they do not discern the body of the Lord and the Blood that was shed for the forgiveness of sins.
May these podcasts cause many to rightly discern the body and blood of the Lord! May many step into the victory Jesus provided through His death and resurrection!

Redemption from the Curse-Part 6
11/15/2021
The reason God HAS to allow bad things to happen is because His Word was released in the earth. His Word is spiritual law in Heaven and on the earth. (See Psalms 119:89-91; Matthew 5:17-19; 1Peter 1:23-25.)
God commanded Adam and Eve not to eat from a certain tree because disobedience would cause death on every level to invade the planet (Genesis 2:14, 15). They disobeyed and the curse came to steal, kill, and destroy. God reiterated this truth when He stated, “If you disobey Me, the curse will come on you.” (See Deuteronomy 28:15.) It was true with Adam, it was a fact during the days of Moses and Jesus, and it is true today. Obedience brings blessing, and disobedience opens the door to the curse. The only thing that can cancel that trajectory into the curse is repentance, confession of sin before the Lord, forgiveness, and cleansing from all unrighteousness (Luke 13:3; 1 John 1:8-10, 2:1), and then taking a stand on redemption from the curse (Gal. 3:13).
People don’t understand that their choices in life have everything to do with whether they have life or death, or blessing or cursing. (See Deut. 30:15-20; Galatians 6:7, 8; Proverbs 18:20, 21; Romans 1:21-32; Gal. 5:19-23.) We will look further into the legalities of WHY people can either position themselves for blessing or for the curse. The sooner we learn these truths, the better we will lay hold on our redemption in Christ.
We discuss these things and more in this podcast. I can’t begin to tell you how important this subject is for every single believer. Don’t miss this powerful teaching! Jesus has already redeemed us from the curse that entered into this planet through Adam’s disobedience (Genesis 2:16, 3:16, 17; Gal. 3:13). Deuteronomy 28 gives us a catalog of the blessing for obedience (vs. 1-14), and the rest of the chapter gives us an extensive list of the curse for disobedience (vs. 15-68). This curse is what entered into the earth with Adam’s treason. Once we find out what is included in the curse; we begin to understand the breadth and depth of our redemption in Christ. It is awesome!
This information is VITAL! It can be the difference between life or death, healing or sickness, abundance or poverty, courage or fear, strength or weakness, and victory or defeat. Redemption from the Curse-Part 2

The creation itself groans and labors with birth pains under the curse and bondage of corruption that came into this world through Adam’s sin. Adam’s disobedience opened the door for Satan to bring everything that steals, kills, and destroys into this planet. The devil is called the destroyer in Revelation. Nothing he does brings life, healing, or anything good. The day is coming when Satan and the curse will be removed from human contact FOREVER. Thank God! In the meantime, we can operate in freedom from the curse on earth because Jesus redeemed us from it! (Galatians 3:13) Hear this revealing podcast. Be mightily blessed!

Redemption from the Curse-Part 1
10/30/2021
Why is there a curse in the earth? What event opened the door for the curse? Who is the author of the curse, and who allowed it to enter the earth? What is the curse? Galatians 3:13 told us that Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law. Two translations render the verse, “Christ redeemed us from the curse pronounced in the law”. What does that mean? Does redemption affect us automatically when we receive and confess Jesus as our Lord? We begin to answer these questions and more with this first podcast. Don’t miss this 10-part series! Be mightily blessed!
Note of correction: For all you perfect people that never make a mistake in speech (haha!), I made the dumb mistake of saying “Revelations” when referring to the book of Revelation (singular). It is THE Revelation of Jesus Christ. Period! Rev. 1:1! I correct myself on the podcast in Part 2. Quit being a public speaking critic of hyper correctness and get the message! That is really what matters. It is a message of deliverance and freedom because of what Jesus did, so be free in the name of Jesus!

Faith in Christ: The Often-Watered-Down Message
10/14/2021
Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you? —unless indeed you are disqualified. (2 Corinthians 13:5 NKJV)
What is being in the faith? Without question, it is faith in Christ Jesus. I don’t think any believer would argue with that, but just in case, here are some verses about it: Acts 3:16, 6:7, 14:22, 16:5, 26:18; Romans 3:22, 26; Galatians 3:22; Philippians 1:27, where a parallel is drawn between the gospel of Christ and the faith of the gospel; Colossians 1:4, 23, 2:5, 7, 12, and so on. First Timothy 3:13 settles it for me: “in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.”
The following portion of the Scripture tells us exactly how the faith in Christ is defined. Do you want to know what the Apostle Paul called the faith in Christ? It is clearly stated when Paul preached to Governor Felix and his wife Drusilla.
24 And after some days, when Felix came with his wife Drusilla, who was Jewish, he sent for Paul and heard him concerning the faith in Christ. 25 Now as he reasoned about righteousness, self- control, and the judgment to come, Felix was afraid (became frightened, “trembled” in at least 7 translations, terrified, much alarmed) and answered, “Go away for now; when I have a convenient time I will call for you.” (Acts 24:24, 25 NET- parenthesis- my comment)
Faith in Christ was defined in this passage as a message that expounded on righteousness, self-control, and judgement to come. What? Really? Does that sound like most modern-day “gospel” messages concerning faith in Christ? That was the essence of Paul’s gospel message.
Some would say that there is no need to tell sinners they need self-control or to speak of judgment because that would not be very loving towards them, but Paul did that. Some may think that to speak to sinners about righteousness is a waste of time, or not something that will be conducive to their conversion, and that it may turn them off to the gospel. Tell that to the Apostle Paul. The text calls righteousness, self-control, and judgement to come a “faith in Christ” message. Have our gospel messages been missing some things?
Righteousness, self-control, and judgment as the definition of ministering the faith in Christ sounds almost identical to what Jesus said the Holy Spirit was sent to do.
“And He, when He comes, He will convict (expose, convict, reprove, rebuke) the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment.” (John 16:8 NKJV)
What Paul stated to Felix, and what Jesus said to His disciples, were both referring to the same thing. Paul used the term “self-control” when talking about “sin”. The connection between sin and a lack of self-control should be obvious. If you sin, it is because you did not exercise self-control. Self-control is control of your actions by the Word and by the power of the Holy Spirit. “Self” does not infer that you are by yourself or that you are alone in this matter. It infers that the action starts with you. The Holy Spirit is not your enforcer, but He is your Helper. (John 16:7) In other words, the Holy Spirit will help you to do what is right. He will not make you obey God’s Word, but He will help you to do what is right according to God’s Word.
The word convict (Gr. elegcho) in John 16:8 is translated in Thayer’s Greek-English Lexicon as “reprehend severely, call to account, correct, to show one his fault.” The same word is found in 2 Timothy 4:2, 1 Tim. 5:20; Titus 1:13, 2:15; Hebrews 12:5, and in the words of Jesus in Revelation 3:19:
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. (NKJV)
Rebuke, that is, to reprehend severely, call to account, correct, to show one his fault must come when a lack of self-control is evident. (See also elegcho in John 3:20, 1Corinthians 14:24, and Ephesians 5:11.) Sin is the result of a lack of self-control that opposes God’s Word and commandments. James 1:14-16 in the Amplified Bible clarifies the process of sin...
