Reflection On the Scripture Ep 33 :The Middle East Pt. 2

11/18/2023
Pastor Taylor continues his deep dive into the Middle east conflict currently controlling the news cycles. We Pray for all those who are suffering nation wide. Psalm 128 A song of ascents. 1 Blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk in obedience to him. 2 You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours. 3 Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table. 4 Yes, this will be the blessing for the man who fears the Lord. 5 May the Lord bless you from Zion; may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life. 6 May you live to see your children’s children— peace be on Israel. Reflection On the Scripture Ep 30: The Great Divide

11/18/2023
The division amongst Christians has been a regularly used tactic from Satan himself to try and sabotage the army or God. Keeping people divided and in constant conflict with one another is an easy way to distract from the greatness of God. In today's episode Pastor Taylor once again bridges the gap between scripture and the current state of humanity. 2nd Timothy 3 3 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people. 6 They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over gullible women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, 7 always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth. 8 Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these teachers oppose the truth. They are men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. 9 But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone. Reflection On the Scripture Ep 31: Exploring The Ancient World

11/18/2023
There will be no peace amongst men in the land of the living until the Lord God Jesus Christ returns to free man from his own damnation. Until then there will be conflict, wars. and disagreements. Pastor Taylor draws light to these issues and many others using the word of God. The Glory of God in His Goodness to Israel To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. A Song. 68 26 Bless God in the congregations, The Lord, from the fountain of Israel. 27 There is little Benjamin, their leader, The princes of Judah and their [j]company, The princes of Zebulun and the princes of Naphtali. 28 [k]Your God has commanded your strength; Strengthen, O God, what You have done for us. 29 Because of Your temple at Jerusalem, Kings will bring presents to You. 30 Rebuke the beasts of the reeds, The herd of bulls with the calves of the peoples, Till everyone submits himself with pieces of silver. Scatter the peoples who delight in war. 31 Envoys will come out of Egypt; Ethiopia will quickly stretch out her hands to God. 32 Sing to God, you kingdoms of the earth; Oh, sing praises to the Lord, Selah 33 To Him who rides on the heaven of heavens, which were of old! Indeed, He sends out His voice, a mighty voice. 34 Ascribe strength to God; His excellence is over Israel, And His strength is in the clouds. 35 O God, You are more awesome than Your holy places. The God of Israel is He who gives strength and power to His people. Blessed be God! Pastor Lawrence Taylor of The Kenilworth Baptist Church

Reflection On the Scripture Ep 32: What's Going On In The Middle East?

11/18/2023
The middle east has been plagued with wars for generations and in today's time we see the conflict heating up to an all-time high. Pastor Taylor does his best to guide you through what the bible has to say about the middle east as it pertains to Isarael. Deuteronomy 20:1-4 “When you go out to war against your enemies and see horses and chariots and an army larger than your own, you shall not be afraid of them, for the Lord your God is with you, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt. And when you draw near to the battle, the priest shall come forward and speak to the people and shall say to them, ‘Hear, O Israel, today you are drawing near for battle against your enemies: let not your heart faint. Do not fear or panic or be in dread of them, for the Lord your God is he who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory.’ Pastor Lawrence Taylor of The Kenilworth Baptist Church

Reflection On the Scripture Ep 29: The Different Scenes In The Book Of Revelations

11/13/2023
The Book of Revelation is a widely debated book of the bible for its various predictions of the world yet to come. Pastor Taylor helps to shine light on the many different scenes and scenarios that will take place during this time. In the Book of Revelation, the apocalyptic hopes of the early Christian community find their clearest and most complete expression. Apocalypticism was not a new phenomenon among Christians; it was a well-established belief among Jews, who held that the coming of the kingdom of God would not be brought about by a gradual transformation but by a sudden intervention, when God would end the present age and establish his kingdom in the world made new. This conception of coming events is associated with the belief that prior to this future time, the struggle between the forces of good and evil will become more intense. As the evil powers grow stronger, they will inflict persecution and, in some instances, even death upon those who follow a course of righteousness. The struggle will eventually reach a climax, at which time God will intervene, destroy the forces of evil, and set up a new order in which the righteous will live for all time to come. The appearance of the Messiah will coincide with the coming of these events. Pastor Lawrence Taylor of The Kenilworth Baptist Church

Reflection On the Scripture Ep 28: LGBTQ in the Eyes of The Church

6/29/2023
On this controversial episode Pastor Taylor tackle's, the sensitive topic of LGBTQ in the eyes of the Christian church through biblical perspective. One thing Pastor makes very clear is that we are all God's children, and no one should be shunned into excepting his love and understanding his word. All things said in this episode do not reflect the overall views of The Kenilworth Baptist Church or Pastor Lawrence Taylor. This message is provided through the word of God and translated through Pastor Taylor. Leviticus 18:22 ~ You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination. Leviticus 20:13 ~ If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them. Jude 1:7 ~ Just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire. Romans 1:26-28 ~ For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. Mark 10:6-9 ~ But from the beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’ ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.” Pastor Lawrence Taylor of The Kenilworth Baptist Church

Reflection On the Scripture Ep 27: JUNETEENTH

6/22/2023
WE'RE BACK!! After an unfortunate break Pastor Lawrence Taylor is back to drop weekly knowledge using the word of God and his devotion to it philosophy. On this weeks episode Pastor discusses "Juneteenth". He touches on some historical information and explains the status of slavery throughout human history. " Even though the Emancipation Proclamation was made effective in 1863, it could not be implemented in places still under Confederate control. As a result, in the westernmost Confederate state of Texas, enslaved people would not be free until much later. Freedom finally came on June 19, 1865, when some 2,000 Union troops arrived in Galveston Bay, Texas. The army announced that the more than 250,000 enslaved black people in the state, were free by executive decree. This day came to be known as "Juneteenth," by the newly freed people in Texas. Reflection On the Scripture Ep 24: Turmoil in the Church

3/28/2023
As we seemingly get over the travesty that was Covid-19 the world was left in a much different state then before. Church was greatly affected among other routine activities but the linger effects have left damaging results. Members refusing to attend service, leave the church, and form new religions in the name of "healthy living." Pastor Taylor draws our attention to the scripture explains the turmoil that has existed in the church from the beginning of its existence. Ephesians 5: 22-33 Marriage like Christ and the Church 22 Wives, subject yourselves to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body. 24 But as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives ought to be to their husbands in everything. 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, 26 so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27 that He might present to Himself the church [q]in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless. 28 So husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself; 29 for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church, 30 because we are parts of His body. 31 For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. 32 This mystery is great; but I am speaking with reference to Christ and the church. 33 Nevertheless, as for you individually, each husband is to love his own wife the same as himself, and the wife must see to it that she respects her husband. Reflection On the Scripture Ep 23: Who is Jesus?

3/28/2023
Diving back into the topic of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Pastor Taylor explains the vast debates surrounding the mystery of who Jesus is. Was he truly man? Was he the son of God? What were his features? Many conclusions have been made involving the savior but Pastor Taylor brings us to the scripture so we can pull straight from the source and gain a better understanding. Colossians 1 New American Standard Bible Thankfulness for Spiritual Attainments 1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus [a]by the will of God, and Timothy [b]our brother, 2 To the [c]saints and faithful brothers and sisters in Christ who are at Colossae: Grace to you and peace from God our Father. 3 We [d]give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, 4 since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and the love which you have [e]for all the [f]saints; 5 because of the hope reserved for you in [g]heaven, of which you previously heard in the word of truth, [h]the gospel 6 which has come to you, just as [i]in all the world also it is bearing fruit and increasing, even as it has been doing in you also since the day you heard it and [k]understood the grace of God in truth; 7 just as you learned it from Epaphras, our beloved fellow bond-servant, who is a faithful servant of Christ on our behalf, 8 and he also informed us of your love in the Spirit. 9 For this reason we also, since the day we heard about it, have not ceased praying for you and asking that you may be filled with the [l]knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10 so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, [m]to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and [n]increasing in the [o]knowledge of God; 11 strengthened with all power, according to [p]His glorious might, [q]for the attaining of all perseverance and [r]patience; joyously 12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us [s]to share in the inheritance of the [t]saints in light. The Incomparable Christ 13 [u]For He rescued us from the [v]domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of [w]His beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. 15 [x]He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation: 16 for [y]by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, or dominions, or rulers, or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. 17 He [z]is before all things, and in Him all things [aa]hold together. 18 He is also the head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. 19 For [ab]it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the [ac]fullness to dwell in Him, 20 and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, whether things on earth or things in [ad]heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. Reflection On the Scripture Ep 17: Is My Religion The Right Religion?

3/27/2023
Pastor Taylor challenges you to question your beliefs and faith as we explore the never-ending question of " Which religion is the right religion?" Dr. Taylor deep dives into the scripture to paint a larger picture that God is displaying for us all. Galatians 1:11-24 Paul Called by God 11 I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that the gospel I preached is not of human origin. 12 I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ. 13 For you have heard of my previous way of life in Judaism, how intensely I persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it. 14 I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my own age among my people and was extremely zealous for the traditions of my fathers. 15 But when God, who set me apart from my mother’s womb and called me by his grace, was pleased 16 to reveal his Son in me so that I might preach him among the Gentiles, my immediate response was not to consult any human being. 17 I did not go up to Jerusalem to see those who were apostles before I was, but I went into Arabia. Later I returned to Damascus. 18 Then after three years, I went up to Jerusalem to get acquainted with Cephas[a] and stayed with him fifteen days. 19 I saw none of the other apostles—only James, the Lord’s brother. 20 I assure you before God that what I am writing you is no lie. 21 Then I went to Syria and Cilicia. 22 I was personally unknown to the churches of Judea that are in Christ. 23 They only heard the report: “The man who formerly persecuted us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.” 24 And they praised God because of me. Reflection On the Scripture Ep 20: The Organized Church

3/27/2023
Many people argue that they believe they don't want anything to do with organized church or religion. On today's episode Pastor Taylor offers push back on this specific topic and gives you're a better understanding using the scripture to guide us to the Lords intended message. Why the church is necessary, and why we should all gather as a congregation to offer our love and praises to God? What's the origin of the Church? Luke 1 Introduction 1 Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled[a] among us, 2 just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the word. 3 With this in mind, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, I too decided to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, 4 so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught. Reflection On the Scripture Ep 21: God's Invitation

3/27/2023
Isaiah 55 New King James Version An Invitation to Abundant Life 55 “Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters; And you who have no money, Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk Without money and without price. 2 Why do you [a]spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance. 3 Incline your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live; And I will make an everlasting covenant with you— The sure mercies of David. 4 Indeed I have given him as a witness to the people, A leader and commander for the people. 5 Surely you shall call a nation you do not know, And nations who do not know you shall run to you, Because of the Lord your God, And the Holy One of Israel; For He has glorified you.” 6 Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. 7 Let the [b]wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon. 8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. 9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts. 10 “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater, 11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me [c]void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. 12 “For you shall go out with joy, And be led out with peace; The mountains and the hills Shall break forth into singing before you, And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. 13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress tree, And instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree; And it shall be to the Lord for a name, For an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.” Pastor Lawrence Taylor of The Kenilworth Baptist Church

Reflection On the Scripture Ep 22: Bloody Sunday

3/27/2023
Pastor Taylor takes us back to another part of Americas dark past. Racism is nothing new to us but the level of violence we have endured is horrendous. Today marks the anniversary of Bloody Sunday, a march held in Selma, Alabama, in 1965 for the 600 people attacked on the Edmund Pettus Bridge. It was there that law enforcement officers beat unarmed marchers with billy clubs and sprayed them with tear gas. Pastor Lawrence Taylor of The Kenilworth Baptist Church
