Religion & Spirituality Podcas

Lance Johnson comes by way of a life of struggles having been trapped by the unrelenting grip of alcohol and drug addiction and the desperate life style that comes with it. He brings a fresh word that is woven into the fabric of a life that has known the agony of an empty soul. One early fall day in September of 1990 he had an encounter with the King of Kings that not only changed him but has eternally altered the lives of thousands that now proclaim along with him that “When Jesus sets you free you are completely free”. Pastor Lance now reaches into depths of his experience to deliver a starkly real story of freedom by the power of God. Now he only looks back to encourage those that are lagging behind. He has spent almost a quarter of a century rescuing people from a background of death and ruin and introducing them to a life of prosperity and liberty. Lance has pioneered addiction recovery ministries as well as numerous churches. He has planted bible colleges and overseas mission works, thereby reaching people from every walk of life and social background. He has introduced vast numbers of people to a victorious, overcoming lifestyle. He is currently the founder and Senior Pastor of Relevate Church in Ranger GA. He is also the founder and teacher at Lions Gate Ministry Training Academy.

Luke 12 Part 1

9/20/2025
In today’s message, Bishop Lance will remind us of the central mission he’s been called into, along with every other believer in Jesus Christ. That mission is to spread the Gospel of grace to the ends of the earth. If you stick around through today’s message, and you’ve not already decided to believe in that grace and accept it, you’ll be presented with a choice. You can choose to risk spending eternity separated from our loving Creator, or a guarantee of eternal life with Him through the grace of Jesus.

1 Samuel 17 Part 2

Have you allowed your vision for your church or ministry to become an idol? On its surface, it may look and feel like you’re doing everything right. You’re pouring yourself into the work of God… but really, it’s just your idea of who God is and what He wants to do in this world, and He has little to do with it. As Bishop Lance will challenge us in today’s message, it’s vital that we lay down everything that can come between us and God - keeping us from the intimacy He wants to have with us.

1 Samuel 17 Part 1

We may not be fashioning idols out of gold and silver to bow down to in modern society, but we are very good at fashioning our own gods out of religion and reason. This form of idolatry is more subtle, more pervasive, and harder to recognize. As Bishop Lance will confess in today’s message, it’s something that all of us, himself included, actively struggle with. We need to be sure that our lives are centered around serving Jesus – not a god of our own making that serves our needs and desires.

Luke 16 Part 2

8/30/2025
God cares about your life in the here and now. He provides for you. But, as Bishop Lance will challenge us in today’s message, we don’t really have a problem thinking about the here and now – it comes naturally. We need to be a lot more concerned with eternity and what it’s going to be like for ourselves, our loved ones, neighbors, and co-workers. None of us knows how soon we’ll be confronted with death, and the message of salvation is much more urgent than our lives portray it to be.

Luke 16 Part 1

The prophecies found in Scripture can be hard to decipher. Some pastors and churches build ministries on their interpretation of that prophecy, and it can become more about their perspective than about the God who gave it in the first place. As Bishop Lance will remind us today, God is the one who gave the prophecies we cling to, and He alone fully understands their meaning and how they’ll play out. We need to trust in Him and loosen our grip on our personal vision for the future.

Matthew 13 Part 2

Satan knows he can’t win, but that doesn’t stop him from trying. Sadly, while Jesus has secured the ultimate victory, each one of us has our own choice to make, and many choose to follow the enemy. In today’s message, Bishop Lance will remind us that we have a steadfast, undefeatable Savior who is stronger than the evil in this world. We don’t need to live in fear and back down from sharing the Gospel; we can step out boldly, knowing that even if they bring their worst, we have eternal hope in Jesus.

Matthew 13 Part 1

God wants you to be a living testimony to His greatness, not yours. As Bishop Lance will remind us today, God doesn’t call us based on our merit. He doesn’t need our money, abilities, or position in society. He can just speak a word, and worlds come into being. He chooses to use us, stubborn, sin-ridden humans, to demonstrate His redemptive power in our weakness. He brings life from death, and all the glory belongs to Him. People don’t need to come to us for help, but to the one who rescued us.

Mark 4

8/2/2025
Our enemy is a cunning deceiver. He knows just the right way to convince us that wrong is right and right is wrong, up is down, and down is up. Look at our world in contrast to Scripture, and the deception becomes clear. As Bishop Lance will remind us in today’s message, God is not against you, and He is not the reason for the brokenness in your life and this world. He’s a gracious Redeemer and loves us with a love that longs to restore us and give us hope in the midst of this broken world.

Luke 18 Part 2

We live in an imperfect world, and often we search for the perfect setting, ideal people, and the right moments in our lives. However, that is not the essence of the church. In today’s message, Bishop Lance emphasizes that the church is not about creating a flawless environment; it is about embracing imperfect individuals who are seeking the perfect Son of God, Jesus Christ. The church is a place where people can be authentic, find hope, and learn to love as Christ loves His family.

Luke 18 Part 1

If there were a drink that could quench your thirst forever, would you take it? This is what Jesus offered the woman at the well. He understood that she had faced a difficult life and made mistakes, but that did not mean she lacked purpose. Jesus sees you in your current situation, and perhaps you feel burdened by the consequences of your sins. Today, Bishop Lance reminds you that Jesus offers you a drink that can satisfy any thirst this world imposes on you—it is the promise of eternal life.

Luke 19 Part 2

7/12/2025
It’s truly amazing to know that we have a God who desires a relationship with us. He does not demand that we change before we approach Him. God understands that we are not perfect due to the sin in this world, and that’s precisely why He sent His Son—to die for our sins and to invite us into a relationship just as we are. In today’s message, Bishop Lance reminds us that God wants us as we are so that He can refine us, like gold in a furnace, to shape us and to make us into who we need to be!

Have you ever tried your hand at pottery? If you have, you know it's not as easy as it appears. The clay has a unique consistency—soft, pliable, and easily bendable. In the same way, we are the clay in our relationship with God. Just like raw clay, we are unformed and delicate, prone to breaking under pressure. But here's the comforting truth: God is a gentle craftsman who patiently shapes our lives into what He envisions. Today, Bishop Lance encourages you to allow God to mold you into the person He calls you to be.

Do you have something in your life that you struggle with? Is there something inside you that feels heavy? Are you tired of being burdened by the issues that trouble you? In today’s message, Bishop Lance wants you to know that there is only one person who can free you from your chains, and His name is Jesus Christ. When you give your life to Him and lay out all of your sins, troubles, and burdens, Jesus Christ will set you free—but only if you place your faith in Him!

Mark 5 Part 2

6/21/2025
We live in a world that often seems backwards, where what is wrong is labeled as right, and what is right is sometimes dismissed. And when we stay there for a while, we may begin to adopt these views and apply them to our relationship with God. When our beliefs conflict with what the Bible teaches, and we still choose to follow our own ideas, we create a version of God in our own image. Today, Bishop Lance encourages us to put our faith in the teachings of Jesus Christ and to allow Him to transform our hearts.

We live in a world where everyone has access to technology and can easily see the latest headlines as soon as they come in. Can you imagine what it must be like to be a child in the year 2025? In today’s message, Bishop Lance encourages you to pay attention to the younger generation and to understand the struggles they face. It’s important for them to know that they are not alone in this vast and sometimes frightening world. There is someone who loves them dearly—Jesus Christ, who gave His life for them on the cross.

At times in our journey with Christ, we may lose sight of the bigger picture. When we find ourselves asking, “What now?” it can be easy to overlook the true essence of ministry. That’s why, in today’s message, Bishop Lance encourages us to refocus on the Gospel of Jesus. He invites us to examine Jesus’ life, embrace His teachings, and minister to His flock just as He did. As we follow Jesus and study His teachings, we can genuinely minister and serve others in the same way He serves us.

There is More at Stake Part 2

Some positions in the church have gone too far…some churches have even gone too far. People get so laser-focused on growth in numbers for their church that they completely lose sight of what really matters…Jesus! In today’s message, Bishop Lance will ask you to take a close look at your church. Are you attending because it’s fun or because you love Jesus? Do other people visit because it’s a nice building and they have free child care, or because they are on fire for God and want more?!

We’ve all heard the phrase, “actions speak louder than words,” but did you know that that is biblical?! Jesus has been teaching that since the Garden, and He is still trying to teach it to Christians in the church now. In today’s message, Bishop Lance will show you exactly how words have been hurting the church and how you can take action and represent Jesus better! People will always be more judgmental of the church and Christians, so it is imperative that we do our very best to reflect Him!

Are You A Member Or A Follower? Part 2

Jesus died so we could live life and live it abundantly! That is a comfort we can’t even comprehend. Yet, we can still take it for granted. In today’s message, Bishop Lance will encourage you to see how you can sacrifice your own life for Jesus. There are so many ways that Christians alike can waste that precious sacrifice. Whether that is spending more time on your phone than you are in the Bible or even putting your family above God, or whatever it may be for you…how are you going to honor God by sacrificing?

Are You A Member Or A Follower? Part 1

Jesus was and forever will be more concerned with quality over quantity. He proved that over and over while He was on Earth. Just look at the disciples; there were only twelve! There could have been so many, and yet He chose to have a deep relationship with those twelve. In today’s message, Bishop Lance will remind you that when it comes to your church, God cares about the quality of those individual relationships over the sheer mass of people you have attending every week.
