Judges 4,5 In these chapters we learn more about the predicament that Israel is in. They lack courage. Especially when it comes to the men. In these two chapters we see a very flawed and fearful man (Barak) get called out by God both directly and through the judge known as Deborah. The result is a faith filled courage that is displayed for the glory of God and the good of his people.

The result is discipline that leads to distress which leads to the them crying out and God sending a deliverer. This is the judges cycle that will play out 12 times over the entirety of the book.
