Just last Thursday we watched events surrounding the 80th Anniversary of D-Day in Normandy, France. I couldn't help but think of the movie Saving Private Ryan starring Tom Hanks released back in 1998. Many veterans extol the movie for its accurate depiction of the storming of Omaha Beach. I realize there are some bad mothers out there, and this day evokes anything but happiness for some. But I had a different experience. I was blessed with a Mom who is the equivalent of an angel. I get what author Mitch Albom says in his book For One More Day: "I realized when you look at your mother, you are looking at the purest love you will ever know."
