In this re-released episode of The Cyndi Peterson Show, we revisit the inspiring story of Kendrick Castillo, the Colorado high school senior who courageously gave his life to save his classmates during a school shooting in 2019. Since this episode first aired, the Diocese of Colorado Springs has received a petition to open his cause for canonization, beginning the formal process of discernment toward possible sainthood. Cyndi details the awe inspiring Orthodox Christian ritual of The Holy Fire which occurs on every Holy Saturday prior to Orthox Easter Sunday. On this day, Fire is reported to descend into the Tomb of Christ, in the Church of The Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem, and ignite candles held by the Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem. This flame is then spread throughout the Church in mere moments simpy by sharing the flame to individual candles of the faithful present. The Fire itself is said to have miraculous properties.
