Wild One, How are you? Where are you? For many of Us, that is more than a little sketchy to fully discern at the moment. Massive shifts in consciousness, shadows and old patterns showing themselves with amplified noise and conflict, financial markets strained and dissolving, wildfires burning, uncertainty reigning. ​​​​​​​This is life inside of an Expedited Evolutionary Impulse. Especially terrifying if we don’t know how to ride the rapids of this white water adventure. Clinging to our life jackets and trying to slow the ride down by heaving our oars in the water, or hunkering down in the corner of the raft - ducking and covering in hopes that the end of the ride is near. It is Wild Soul Medicine Radio day again. That mid-point in the week where we locate ourselves inside the intensity and chaos of a life Unfolding and put our metaphorical finger down on the map to say, “We. Are. Here.” How can we get where we are going if we aren’t sure where we already ARE? With no set reference points to navigate from, it can feel like being tossed around in a washing machine on heavy spin cycle. Which end is Up? How do I get off this ride? On Wild Soul Medicine today I am wearing my Soul Cartographer hat. I am an expert at recognizing patterns, systems, and processes and creating frameworks that invite our consciousness to expand into the awareness they provide. Today we begin charting this territory with a map of Soul Development - the 3 steps of evolution that all Souls must go through in order to grow into Wholeness. Bringing order to the seeming chaos of evolutionary process allows us to surrender more fully into Becoming. Mapping the territory of our Soul’s expansion and ego’s dissolution gives us the meta view of what to expect while we are expecting, so that we can relax into the phase shift we are already in the midst of. I know the discomfort of confusion and the yearning for certainty. I understand what it feels like to wander in the dark, endlessly searching for a light at the end of a tunnel. (Tunnel? Are we even IN a tunnel? What IS this place??) I’ll bring the flashlight and you bring your travel weary self. Together we’ll steady our pitter pattering hearts and breathe deeply into this Now moment of being Here. Here. This Place. Where everything is exactly as it should be and exactly as it IS. Alexis Neely (artist name: Ali Shanti) is a bridge between the generations. She graduated first in her law school class from Georgetown and today uses her law degree to uplevel the consciousness of the legal field, and the families and business owners served by lawyers. Ali serves as a catalyst for new ways of thinking, a paradigm-shifter, lawyer, mom, author, and permission giver who is bringing forward radically new and much needed perspectives on how we make decisions about money, time, work, relationships, parenting and business. And she offers her personal experiences with living a new paradigm, road less traveled life to serve as a model of what’s possible when we allow all of ourselves to show up fully in family, life and new economy business.

After our pause last week to honor the Yes’s and No’s of the silenced feminine, today we resume our Holy Hot Seat sessions with the tender, violent, raw, and heart-breakingly real session of Joshua Hathaway. This one is so sacredly vulnerable I almost don’t know how to speak of it. The Gifts in it are of the deepest most rip-you-open kind. If I were one who believes in “trigger warnings” this one would have one on it, because it includes a graphic, detailed accounting of sexual violence and trauma. And… I believe that scratching the record by offering an undefended picture of what the anatomy of trauma can and does look like in a human experience - as we pull a thread of a seemingly innocuous inquiry and follow it to its roots - is worth “offending” our delicate places and shaking us out of our compartmentalized containers of all the things that hold us separate - from ourselves and each other. Violence and pain exist. And mostly all of us have experienced these things to varying degrees. When we take those shattered pieces of pain and try to protect ourselves or others from them, we only further segregate ourselves from the very things that are actually holy invitations to Come Closer. Our vulnerability inspires compassion and care taking in others. From those soft places we are pulled forward into Love and Connection. This is where our brother Joshua is leading us this week. Born and raised in a small farming town in Southern Alberta, Canada, she was given in an arranged marriage at age 15 to a 25 year old man in a polygamist community in British Columbia, who eventually became the leader of that same community. She has birthed thirteen beautiful children - twelve while still a polygamist. In 2010, Freyja experienced a spiritual awakening which catalyzed her to leave her religion, community, and husband to follow her own path. Currently married to a new love, Michael, she lives in beautiful southwestern Costa Rica with her two youngest children. The Come Undone Experience is officially under way. Kelley is a mama who lives with her husband and three children on the east coast. She is passionate about racial equality and radical self responsibility. Happiest when NOT in the spotlight, she was already working her edges in facilitating my session by agreeing to: Step forward to coach her teacher Be seen by thousands and thousands of people Around a very touchy issue In the moment, we were both happy with how the session went. But in the hours and days that followed, we found ourselves in Vulnerability Hangover. Wondering if people would think she was hard enough on me or gave me a pass. Worrying about whether we had truly gotten to the bottom of the privilege issue. And even more painfully for Kelley… entertaining nagging internal questions of being used or exploited. We stayed in conversation about it and gave it room to move, but days later, it still wasn’t sitting right for her. We could have had a conversation about whether I was exploiting her or not, whether I was still privileged, or the merits of scrapping the session she had just guided me through, but instead we dropped into The Practice and invited this ruffled place in Kelley closer so we could take a look. Together. You are invited to Witness the Grace of that "Session after the Session" here. It is so indicative of this work that one layer leads to the next which leads to the next. In truly Undone fashion, we simply ride the waves of awareness, discord, and medicine until we drop into a pocket and excavate what is buried there. We didn’t side step a thing. Leaning in to tough questions such as being used and misunderstood because of race, the dilemma of how to honor the suffering of others, and the loss (and return) of Innocence. Adjusting our senses and attuning our hearts to compassion rather than just pain. Reclaiming the frozen parts and gleaning the Medicine from the shadowy places. True Compassion requires very little fanfare. She isn’t as sexy as a pronouncement or as catalyzing as a battle cry. In fact, compassion isn’t really about action at all. She is the still, small voice in the Darkness that says, “Come Closer, Let’s See.” The one that invites the leper to sit alongside, includes the outcast, protects the one about to be stoned. Reminding us that throwing a stone at our neighbor doesn’t make any sense at all... since we would only be throwing it at our Selves. It is time for us to Come Undone. Inside the Promise and Courage of Compassion. I don’t know if it will be enough. I worry that our ears have been tuned to ignore that which doesn’t outrage us. I wonder if inclusive words are as compelling as divisive ones. My inner warrior is pacing and restless. She wants a cause to fight for (or against.) I’ve invited her to come closer too. To join us in the Holy Fires of En-Light-Enment. Where our Undefended Heart is our only protection from being scorched by the heat of public scrutiny and ridicule. Where our prayer for a New Way meets the dissonance of a world gone mad. Growing in our capacity to love freely and without limits. To show up in vulnerability and faith. Standing humbly and simply for Kindness. Returning to our Understanding that all aspects of life are growth opportunities in various states of disguise, waiting to be unmasked. Recognizing the futility of shaking a fist at the world “out there,” while we Re-member that “out there” is simply a reflection of the world In Here. Every time is terrifying. The world shouts loudly about my wrongness, my allies are looking for someone to burn. With the mob whipped up into a frenzy, becoming Visible seems like an insane thing to be doing. And so that is just what I will do. I will surrender my holding to a trusted sister for my turn in the Holy Hot Seat. One Week until our Come Undone Experience officially begins, but of course the dissolution is already well underway. It never really begins or ends. The Undoing of the Undoing of the Undoing. If you try to hold on to some semblance of “order” or “control” you will go mad. That doesn’t stop us from trying though. Our ego secretly attaching and manipulating, calculating and planning in hopes of creating a sense of Certainty. This is why we Practice. Teaching our egos how to let go. Surrendering into the beautiful chaos of Becoming. Since Destin is currently in Japan with his wife and baby girl, we pre-recorded our session last night. I thoroughly enjoyed dropping in deeply with this highly sensitive and interesting human. We talked about his experience of his first girlfriend being raped shortly before they got together and how that shaped the work he now does in the world. It was refreshing to hear this man’s perspective on the #MeToo movement, victim consciousness, and the Inner Landscape of men. No stranger to controversy, we also covered his recent dust up on social media and his creation of a Safe Space on his Facebook wall. Together we inquired around how to reconcile silencing dissenting voices and where to draw the line with victims becoming abusers.
