Meet Laura Bethany Buchleiter!

Rev. Laura Bethany Buchleiter is a pastor, speaker, writer, advocate, and consultant. She has over 30 years of experience in various Christian ministry settings. She speaks on topics ranging from gender identity and sexual orientation to self-care and wellness. In all her work Laura Beth draws heavily on her own experiences with PTSD, gender dysphoria, suicidal ideation, and the challenges that come with those when working in faith communities. Laura Beth was a member of the 2016 Leadership Development Cohort with the Reformation project and has presented workshops on topics ranging from understanding Gender and Intersex in a spiritual context to recovery from spiritual abuse. She planned and participated in the inaugural Free Mom Hugs Tour to Stonewall Inn in 2017. In the fall of 2016, she self-published a book entitled “Shattering Masks: Affirming My Identity and Transitioning My Faith” and in 2021 self-published an album of original music called “The Seminary Sessions: More Than a Melody.” Laura Beth currently makes her home base in Indianapolis, Indiana, while traveling the country wherever she is needed as an interim pastor. She has lived all over the USA, including Puerto Rico. In addition to writing, speaking, and working with local faith communities, she keeps herself busy as an artist, musician, parent, and grandparent. Meet Greg Bearden!

A native of Upstate SC, Greg received an undergraduate degree in English from Central Wesleyan College and a master's degree in school counseling from Clemson University. A retiree with nearly thirty years’ experience in public education, he served as an English teacher, a school counselor, and a supervisor for student teachers. He was honored twice as a teacher of the year district finalist and was selected as the state’s school counselor HEART Award recipient. In his community, he is a member of Fort Hill Presbyterian Church and the Oconee County Foster Care Review Board. In addition to being a first-time author, his entrepreneurial spirit is fueled by his position as Co-director of GC Pageants, LLC, and he has had extensive involvement directing and judging in the Miss America, Miss USA, and Miss High School America systems. Midge Noble is an online resiliency coach, podcaster, author, and speaker. She has published two children’s books, SHEBA, Home Is Where Your Heart Is, and ICE CUBE AWARD, Learning To Be Cool Under Pressure. Her memoir, Gay with God, Reclaiming My Faith, Honoring My Story has just been released! Her podcast, GAY with GOD! can be found wherever you stream your podcasts. Midge specializes in helping her LGBTQIA+ community in their coming out and faith journeys. Her main focus is to stop gay suicides by educating people wounded by the church that they can be in relationship with the God of their understanding and that God does and has always loved us, just as we are created to be. To that end, Midge is very involved in her parish, The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. Midge and her wife, along with their fur babies, enjoy spending time at their mountain cabin, hiking, and being with their friends.
