A House of Radical Generosity

10/26/2025
In this powerful message from the 'Heart for the House' series, Adrian Porter dives deep into the concept of Radical Generosity and what it means to be good stewards of God's resources. Using the memorable phrase, "God owns all the doughnuts" , Adrian tackles the foundational truth that every good and perfect gift comes from Him. Discover the significance of the tithe: Its Origin: Tracing back to Abraham and Melchizedek, who received a tenth part of everything. The Command: Understanding God's unchanging call to return the full tithe into the storehouse. God asks, "Will man rob God? Yet you are robbing me... in your tithes and contributions". The Challenge & Blessing: Why God invites us to "put me to the test" and promises a blessing until there is no more need. He also promises to rebuke the devourer. Learn how to honor the Lord with the first fruits of all your crops and embrace the joy of being a cheerful giver! Join us to explore what Radical Generosity looks like for your life and how honoring God with your finances leads to blessing.

One For All & All For One - Unity In God's House

10/12/2025
This week at Douglas North, Jamie MacRae explores the heart of Christian unity: why it matters, where it’s rooted, and how we cultivate it together. Drawing on Psalm 133, John, Philippians, Ephesians and Acts, Jamie shows that unity is both a gift grounded in the Father, Son and Spirit and a responsibility we must actively nurture—through humility, gentle speech, mutual honour and prayer. Expect practical teaching on what unity looks like in the local church, honest challenges about habits we must change, and conversation prompts for community groups: Which blessing of unity moves you most? Do you share one mind, one heart or one purpose—and where might you need to grow? Join us as we pursue life, blessing and witness together in God’s house.

Growing the House

9/28/2025
There is not a book in the bible authored by Jesus. But he is in them all. He was only 33 years old when he was crucified. He didn't even have his own tomb to be laid in, he was put in a borrowed tomb. However, Jesus knew the truth. That one day Jesus Christ would reach all corners of the globe. How to grow the house: 1. Be a bringer - bring people to Jesus 2. Be a Goer - go and make disciples of all nations 3. Be prepared - Prepare yourself to spread the news of Jesus Christ 4. Be a prayer warrior - when people pray God moves

Fit for Service

9/14/2025
This week, Chris Staples discusses what it means to be a "living stone" in God's spiritual house and a priest in His service. The sermon, from our "A Heart for the House" series is titled "Fit for Service," and explores the role of believers as a "chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation". He will be discussing how believers are called to offer "spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God". This includes: Praising: Offering a continual "sacrifice of praise". Giving: Doing good and sharing with others. Serving: Using the spiritual gifts God has given each person to help one another. Pointing others to Jesus: Declaring the praises of God to those who have been called "out of darkness into his wonderful light". The message is based on passages from 1 Peter 2:4-10, 1 Timothy 2:5, Isaiah 61:6, 1 Corinthians 3:16 and 14:24-25, Ephesians 2:20-21, Romans 12:1, and Hebrews 13:15-16.
