We know that Jesus came to set us free from our sins. This is common knowledge among all Christians. But many Christians do not understand why sin must be removed. Certainly there is a desire for sin to be removed because all Christians will acknowledge the pain brought about through sin. But the reasons why sin must be removed go far deeper than that. Sin is the one thing that stands between man and God. God wants His people to be perfect the way they were originally created, until Adam and Eve sinned. What is freedom in Christ Jesus? When Jesus sets us free, He frees us from everything that is or can be a bondage that keeps humanity enslaved. It is a powerful teaching this freedom in Christ. Righteousness by faith is one of the key messages of the New Covenant and the gospel of Jesus Christ. You cannot buy, earn, work for, or do anything for it but accept it. It is a free gift from God. Faith is the key to receiving all of the gifts of God and it is by faith that God chose to declare people righteous.
