With Matthew Wests’ ‘Motions” song 03:00 - 04:53 Vanity of Vanities, Meaninglessness of Meaninglessness…related to ‘Nihilism…no meaning to anything in life, all is senseless or useless… 04:53 - 11:14 (Chapter 2) reading from my book ….’Hebel’ = Vapor…root of vanity or meaninglessness..this word is repeated 37 times,,,all has become of no worth to Solomon ..even though in chapter 2 he states He purchased whatever possession or experience he desired…Should ECCLESIASTES have been included in the CANON of Scripture? YES! As it is an example to us of how for all men/women at times how negative we can view life. This ‘Meaninglessness of Life ' thinking can drive us to seeking answers to the purpose of Life…..SIGNIFICANCE POINT: Keep Searching for life's answers, turn to God, Trust Him, even in the challenges you face. 11:14 -16:30 this chapter reminded me of Rapper Sean Diddy , how his mansions were invaded…Diddy is the epitome of Nihilism per one Christian Podcaster, real parallel to Solomons views in Ecclesiastes…such a push in our culture in entertainment & Music that NOTHING holds meaning any longer…As Solomon said “Eat, Drink, Live it up & party for tomorrow we die!”....Example of Bezalel in the Old Testament the artist/craftsmen who God inspired to design the interior of The Tabernacle.. This was a great example of meaning, purpose, typology pointing to God’s plan & His nature of Love..Now it is sad because in Music the theme of Love in Music can not be found unless you go back 50-60 years…Culture is seducing us out of hope YET God desires us to know that there is hope in HIM….So may God shake us 16:30 -24:24 My REFLECTIVE READINGS…”A Life worth Living, Is a Life Worth Recording” (Schroder)... Last time we went over the book’s preface today we begin by reading chapter 1 “A Searcher Searches” Ecclesiastes 1:1 “The Words of the Preacher . The son of King David, in Jerusalem” QUESTION: Have you ever lost something(or someone) of great value or meaning in your life that caused you much grief & pain? ..I’m thinking everyone has 02:07-7:22 READING OF Chapter ONE: SIGNIFICANCE: 07:22 - 10:50 Additional Commentary….Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,& knowledge of the Holy one is understanding……. a.) Solomon started his journey as King fearing God …yet different things in life caused him to drift away from that premise in his life. b.)The Life of Solomon is possibly the greatest PARADOX in God’s Word c.) As a God-Fearing King He rose to a place of world Renown where many nations & people sought His direction & counsel d.) Yet by the time Ecclesiastes was penned….He had fallen from God & lost that LIGHT & so Ecclesiastes is a negative discourse in many respects..an “Under the sun” view of Life e.) For me, this paradoxical view is very eye-opening , & can offer some real revelation for us 10:50–15:55 I KINGS 3:4 Solomons’ DREAM from GOD , granting Him whatever He desired a.) Solomon approached God in HUMILITY…HE ASKED for WISDOM to Govern Israel b.) Solomon, therefore was given more wisdom than anyone whoever lived outside of Jesus Christ (Jesus was the Greater Solomon) c.) IF ….HE (Solomon) continued in Obedience/Relationship to Abba d.) Solomon’s dream was from God & BECAME A REALITY! e.) A KEY to obtaining God’s WISDOM is having child-like Humility 15:55-21:07 I KINGS 4:20 An Overview of SOLOMONS Wealth, Influence & Prosperity a.) At this time Israel was the Greatest nation on EARTH…at the Zenith of All The world b.) Israel was enjoying such Prosperity because of David & Solomon both serving God c.) Solomon’s name meant Peace….TRUE PEACE with ABBA always results in Prosperity d.) Wealth & Provision detailed for just a MONTH!? e.) I KINGS 4: 29 And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore….some translations

This Book “Searching For Significance, a Devotional Journey Through Ecclesiastes” came to fruition in the summer of 2019 based on the Bible class I taught years ago along with fresh, new insights I had been journaling about as I read through the book that summer. One of the Main points here is that this book was born out of a devotional, contemplative time with God each morning, NEVER did I consider that this would turn into my first BOOK!?..However, as ABBA was so gracious to give me fresh Manna & insight each day, I began to see that perhaps others could benefit from my gleanings of Solomon's prose along with the Fathers encouragement to me! To me the most prevalent theme of ECCLESIASTES is that all men & women are on a search for Significance, a search for meaning & purpose to their life. Hence , the title of this book. Perhaps today in March 2024, you have come across this Podcast at the Kingdom Corner. I am believing it is not by accident , today & moving forward as we begin a journey through my devotional book it is my heart-felt desire & prayer God will begin to reveal to you Your Purpose, Your Significance as it were. From his beloved “The Chronicles of Narnia” series to “The Screwtape Letters,” Lewis’ profound writings have inspired generations of readers and Christians alike. Vs. 3 He shall be like a tree Planted by the [c]rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. “Like A Tree” This Metaphor speaks of stability, Strength, Longevity ( See California Redwoods, some trees 4000 years old)..also being immoveable…a tree is never easily moved/uprooted…Also as WELL as FRUITFULNESS This is a picture of stable, immoveable, persistent , FRUITFUL …Lasting eternal SAINTS….Because they are so strong In God They also offer protection/security for others Song..”I shall not be, I shall not be Moved….just like a tree planted by the waters, I shall not be moved” Ps. 15:5 He who does not put out his money at usury, Nor does he take a bribe against the innocent He who does these things shall never be moved. God did this intentionally, this is not just any wild tree or bush “By” literally ‘on’ or ‘over’..planted right OVER water like an oasis, a tree of righteousness We are to Be right in The Water (SPIRIT) of God ..Ro. 8:9, Gal. 5:16, 25;Eph. 2:22 “RIVERS” Plural in the Hebrew…could be canal or channels, has the idea of a ‘DIVIDE’…shows cultivation…irrigation ( we work with Abba to irrigate)…Trees like willow trees ‘hunt’ for water with their root…A Garden of EDEN experience “RIVERS”…shows a Free-flowing Life in God..Jn.7:37-39 out of ones belly RIVERS of Living water shall flow…A CONTINUAL source of life Giving Water provided(joel 2:23) Rev. 7:7 For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; ‘he will lead them to springs of living water.’[a] ‘And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’[b Jn. 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
