In this episode of our Sustainability in Action podcast series, we spotlight the Performance Products team — third place winners of the Huntsman Corporation's 2024 CEO Award for Innovation in Sustainability — for their outstanding project, "Reducing Emissions with High-Performance Fuel Additives: Enabled by Polyetheramines." Hear directly from our team members as they share the story of how they co-developed a product and manufacturing process for a new deposit control agent (DCA) used in the fuel additive market. This new product helps improve fuel efficiency by about 3%, reduce harmful emissions, and extend the lifetime of the engine due to decreased wearing, knocking, and failures.

For years, the site managed Reactive Liquid Polymer (RLP) Dimer by treating it as hazardous waste, which involved expensive offsite disposal. But through collaboration and innovation, they found a way to repurpose the material for use in oil and gas exploration—turning a liability into an asset. By reducing emissions and creating a new revenue stream, this project highlights how teamwork and creative thinking can drive both operational efficiency and sustainability.
