Goal Determination
Alex Watson
The enormous success of the book "Getting Things Done" highlighted the need for people to take charge of their own productivity by using a technique that reduces the tension that comes with keeping on top of things. Employers all around the world engage hundreds of authorized coaches and trainers full-time to teach the method. A grassroots movement behind them consists of a variety of groups, such as meetup groups, LinkedIn groups, Facebook groups, podcasts, blogs, and hundreds of process-based applications. Though it's still the best method for getting perspective on one's work and creating a mental space that supports creativity and mindfulness, the Getting Things Done Workbook is an enhancement over the original. The workbook format makes the GTD approach easy to learn. The workbook divides up the method into smaller, more doable pieces to simplify learning and application. Every chapter opens with the author posing a scenario that the reader may be facing, such as a disorganized desk, an overflowing to-do list, or an excessive number of emails. Next, the author introduces the concept of Getting Things Done (GTD) as a solution to address these issues. You will probably benefit from the lessons, no matter which order you learn and apply them. This practical training booklet will be a priceless tool for both novices and experts of the GTD approach in terms of transitioning into a position of ongoing effectiveness.
