Lots of time spent at The Arena lately for the podcast, this time it is the first time since in 2006's ARENA WARFARE (available in the archives). Out of 2006, off to 2010, and up to the GREATER BOSTON AREA, if you consider 45 minutes away from Boston the “area” that is (ROH certainly did). It's the debut in Plymouth, the first of three shows that went down at the venue over the next six months, and also probably the shortest event in ROH history as it clocks in at two hours and five minutes of DVD time! So we've got the merits of a 30 minute draw with a champion on his way out the door, justifying two heel teams having a first blood...

Still 2006, but a few months earlier, and the ROH/CZW is in its infancy when ROH (following a forced building change) invaded their home turf at the New 2300 CZW Bingo Alhambra X3PW Hall. Notably absent are the Pure Champion Nigel McGuinness, Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli, Low Ki who was announced initially but fired/quit/whatever, and Jimmy Rave to name a few, but it didn't stop ROH from running way over! Why you may ask? When planes are late and airports a mystery, stallers gotta stall!...

The year was 2006, Ring of Honor was deep into Homicide's Road To The Title story arc, had abruptly turned Jim Cornette heel a few months earlier, and formed a little stable around him that no one really remembers. Here, ROH is back in Philly for the first time since Cage Of Death and bringing the legendary Corino/Homicide feud to a close with the return. Out of 2003, and onto the first show of the post-CM Punk era of Ring of Honor! And not only is it one event, fans got two shows that August 2005 day in New Jersey! Problem is, one of those shows has been utterly eradicated from history and there is no official video footage out there on any ROH release. You'll have to listen to hear more about where this footage may exist... As for the main show, well it is certainly one of the most infamous to oldhead fans, one in which word of mouth...

“Smoky Mountain of Honor” was once a phrase coined by Austin Aries in relation to Jim Cornette and Ring of Honor, and this is one event that certainly conveys that feel...or perhaps the Ohio Valley of Honor would be appropriate seeing as how we are at The Davis Arena for the event. The first night of a triple shot weekend with “HATE: CHAPTER II” and “SALVATION”, this one just feels...less than...for the first half of the event, but with the top two matches really kicks into the territory...

THE SUMMER OF PUNK ROLLS ON as ROH returns to NYC and The New Yorker Hotel (also apparently the 5th show in a row in either New York State or New Jersey)! Another hot, highly invested crowd, with three title matches for their entertainment, and some good old shenanigans (or murder) with Mick Foley!
