He Will: Reflections at 68 on God’s Faithfulness

4/15/2026
Send us Fan Mail In this deeply personal episode, I pause to reflect on turning 68—not with regret, but with overwhelming gratitude and renewed expectation. Rooted in Psalm 37:5, “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act,” I share the evidence of God’s faithfulness woven through every season of my life. From love found again, to the gift of family, to the healing power of creativity, this is a testimony of a life held by God. I also open my heart to what’s ahead—six intentional invitations for this next year, including deeper communion with God, loving well, stewarding health, and continuing to create with purpose. This episode is a reminder: you don’t have to strive—just walk with the One who is faithful to act.

God Is Good… Even Here

4/9/2026
Send us Fan Mail Have you ever walked through something hard… and quietly wondered, Is God still good in this? In this episode, I’m talking about the tension of trusting God when life feels uncertain, unfinished, or even painful. What does it really look like to say “God is good” in the middle, not just after the breakthrough? We’ll explore what it means to surrender what we’re trying to build, trust God in what we can’t see, and hold onto a faith that chooses Him… even when nothing makes sense. Because sometimes the most powerful faith isn’t loud… it’s a whisper that still says, “God is good.”

Carrying the Fragrance of Jesus, The Beauty of Being Broken and Poured Out

4/2/2026
Send us Fan Mail Have you ever noticed how a fragrance can fill an entire room before you even see where it came from? In this episode, I’m sharing a powerful Holy Week reflection on what it means to carry the fragrance of Jesus in our everyday lives. We’ll walk through the story in Mark 14, where a woman breaks open her alabaster jar and pours out costly perfume at the feet of Jesus. In her surrender, the fragrance filled the room—and revealed something deeper about worship, sacrifice, and love. Together, we’ll explore: • Why the fragrance is released through breaking • How Jesus was broken and poured out for us • How our lives become a pleasing aroma when we surrender • The powerful role creativity plays in carrying His presence I truly believe this: We don’t carry His fragrance by striving… we carry it by surrender. Whether it’s through painting, cooking, creating, or simply loving others well, your life can release something eternal. So I want to ask you… What is your alabaster jar? If this message stirs something in you, come go deeper with me on the Small Beginnings with Sara podcast, and if you’re ready to step into healing through creativity, explore The Creative Healing Bundle—it’s one of the most powerful ways I’ve seen God meet people right where they are.

This Is Enough: Finding Rest in a World That Says More

3/25/2026
Send us Fan Mail Have you ever ended a full day… and still felt like it wasn’t enough? In this episode, I share what God has been gently teaching me about stepping out of the pressure to do more, achieve more, and be more… and into the freedom of enough. We’ll explore the beauty of Sabbath rest, not as a rule—but as an invitation. An invitation to slow down, to be present, and to receive instead of strive. I also share a personal moment from my time in Italy, where God met me in a question that changed everything: “Am I not enough for you?” Through Scripture and real-life reflection, we’ll uncover a better way to live—one rooted in peace, contentment, and trust. If your heart has been feeling stretched thin or caught in the cycle of “not enough,” this episode is for you. Come breathe again. Come be reminded… God is enough. And in Him, you already have enough. 🎙️ Listen now to Small Beginnings with Sara and step into a slower, fuller, more present way of living.

Two Waters, One God: Learning to Trust His Different Ways

3/18/2026
Send us Fan Mail There are moments in life when we are standing at the edge of something impossible. And in Scripture, we see this twice— once at the Red Sea, and once at the Jordan River. Both times, God made a way. Both times, His people walked on dry ground. But the way He moved was completely different. At the Red Sea, God moved before they did. He made a way where there was none. But at the Jordan River, God asked them to step first— into uncertain, overflowing waters— before the miracle came. And I believe this speaks directly to the seasons we walk through today. Sometimes God clears the path so clearly, we can’t miss it. And other times… He invites us into a deeper kind of faith— the kind that requires a step before we see. I share how this has been unfolding even in my own life— through something as unexpected as learning to play golf, and how small adjustments, a teachable heart, and simple obedience can open the door to growth we didn’t even realize we needed. Maybe you’re in a Red Sea season. Or maybe you’re standing at the edge of a Jordan River moment. Either way, God is still speaking. He is still moving. And He is still making a way. Listen to this week’s episode of Small Beginnings with Sara and be encouraged to trust Him— whether He’s parting the waters ahead of you… or inviting you to step in first.

Living With Intention: Discovering Your Purpose in Every Season

3/11/2026
Send a text Have you ever paused in the middle of a full, beautiful life and asked yourself a deeper question, Am I living intentionally? In this episode of Small Beginnings with Sara, I reflect on what it means to live with purpose instead of simply reacting to life. Our calendars can fill quickly, but when we pause to ask God what truly matters in this season, everything begins to shift. Scripture reminds us in Ephesians 5:15–16 to live wisely and make the most of every opportunity. One way we do that is by identifying the purposes God has placed in front of us right now. In this conversation, I share the six purposes guiding my current season of life: • Communion with God • Loving my husband well • Investing in my children and grandchildren • Friendship and hospitality • Living with margin so I can serve others • Taking care of the body God gave me Each season carries different priorities, and when we recognize them, our days begin to align with what matters most. If you’ve been longing for more clarity, peace, and intentional living, this episode will encourage you to slow down, seek God’s voice, and allow Him to shape how you spend your time, energy, and love. 🎙️ Listen now to the latest episode of Small Beginnings with Sara and reflect on the purposes God may be inviting you to embrace in this season.

The First Signs of Spring, Noticing the New Things God Is Growing

3/5/2026
Send a text There is something about the changing of seasons that feels like God speaking softly to our hearts. Spring is just beginning to show itself where I live. The birds are singing in the mornings, tiny green shoots are pushing through the soil, and the mountain laurel is starting to bloom. It’s not fully spring yet, but you can sense that something new is beginning. And I love how often God works the same way in our lives. In this episode of Small Beginnings with Sara, I share what the first signs of spring have been teaching me about the way God brings renewal to our hearts. We’ll talk about noticing the small beginnings of a new season, pulling the weeds while they are small, and allowing God to prune what is old so new growth can flourish. Song of Solomon reminds us, “See! The winter is past… flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come.” Maybe the first signs of spring are already showing up in your life. Together we’ll reflect on how to slow down, notice where God is working, and make space for the new things He is growing. Because sometimes the most beautiful seasons begin with the smallest signs.

Living with Margin: Making Room for Divine Interruptions

2/25/2026
Send a text On a recent cruise in the Caribbean, God began speaking to me about something I didn’t realize I was missing — margin. Not more productivity. Not more opportunity. Margin. The space between my load and my limit. The breathing room in my time, finances, and emotional energy. In this episode, I share how Jesus modeled margin for ministry, Mark 1:35, why interruptions are often divine assignments, and how living too full can cause us to miss the very people God places in front of us. Because love requires availability. And availability requires space. I’ll also give you practical ways to build intentional margin in this season and reflection questions to help you discern where you may be overfilled. If you’re longing to slow down and hear God more clearly, this episode is for you. And if you want guided space to practice listening and creating with Him, explore my Creative Healing Bundle, Refreshing the Soul, or Ashes to Bloom. God still speaks. Sometimes we just need to make room.

Come Away With Me

2/11/2026
Send a text “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.” — Mark 6:31 Have you felt that invitation in this season? The packing, the moving, the selling, the painting, the traveling, the constant next thing. Blessings can be beautiful… and exhausting. In this episode of Small Beginnings with Sara, I’m sharing what it looks like to pause in the middle of transition, to name what we’ve been carrying, and to remember that rest isn’t a reward, it’s a relationship with Jesus. He restores before He redirects. He invites us to come, not accomplish. If your soul feels heavy or hurried, this episode is your gentle reminder to slow down and listen. ✨ Tune in to Small Beginnings with Sara and come away with Him.

Open My Lips: The Power of Speaking God’s Word

2/4/2026
Send us a text In this episode of Small Beginnings, I’m sharing why God invites us to speak our prayers out loud, not because He needs to hear them, but because something shifts when we do. Our voices carry authority. Spoken truth changes atmospheres. And when we speak God’s Word, faith rises and darkness retreats. We’ll talk about: This episode is a gentle invitation to stop praying silently out of fear and start speaking God’s Word with trust, even in small ways. God still speaks. And sometimes, He’s waiting for us to speak back. If this stirs something in you, continue the journey through Refreshing the Soul or Divine Creativity: Healing Through Painting or Journaling, where prayer, creativity, and healing meet.

Breaking Creative Resistance: Reclaiming Your God-Given Creativity

1/29/2026
Send us a text Creative resistance has been on my mind lately. That heavy feeling that shows up right when you sit down to create. The distraction. The doubt. The quiet voice that whispers, Maybe later. Maybe you’re not ready. Maybe it doesn’t matter. In today’s episode, I’m naming that resistance for what it often is, fear, distraction, and even spiritual opposition trying to silence what God placed inside you on purpose. What if the resistance you feel isn’t a sign to stop… but confirmation that what you’re creating matters? We’re diving into Scripture to uncover the truth that creativity isn’t optional fluff or a side hobby. It’s woven into who you are as someone made in the image of a Creator God. When you create, you reflect His nature. And when creativity is delayed, muted, or dismissed, the world misses out on what God intended to release through you. In this episode, we’ll talk about: • Why creativity is God’s idea, not yours • Why resistance shows up strongest right before breakthroughs • The lies that quietly block obedience, like perfectionism, comparison, and “I’ll do it later” • How to overcome resistance with both spiritual truth and practical action • Why creating with God becomes both worship and warfare I also invite you into a gentle moment of reflection, asking: What has God been nudging you to create? Where have you felt resistance? What would obedience, not perfection, look like today? If you’ve been feeling stuck, weary, or hesitant to begin again, let this episode be your confirmation: What God placed in you is worth protecting, nurturing, and releasing. 🎧 Listen now to Small Beginnings with Sara and let God meet you right in the middle of your creative process. And if you’re ready to go deeper, I’d love to walk with you inside Divine Creativity: Healing Through Painting or Journaling, or the Creative Healing Bundle, where we create with God, not striving, not performing, but listening and responding. God still speaks. He may be calling you to something creative. And it might just feel impossible. Go create, with Him. 🤍

Finding God’s Rhythm, One Day at a Time

1/23/2026
Send us a text Lately, I’ve been asking God for His rhythm, not more hustle, not a faster pace, but His way of walking through my days. In this episode, I share five simple, Scripture-rooted thoughts that have been helping me slow down and listen again. From numbering our days with wisdom, to trusting God for daily grace, to learning when to withdraw, rest, and simply be with Him, this conversation is an invitation to stop rushing ahead and start walking with God, one step at a time. God doesn’t usually reveal the whole path. He lights the next step. And somehow, that’s enough. If you’ve been feeling weary, overwhelmed, or unsure of what’s next, this episode is a reminder that God’s grace is not forced, it’s formed over time through small, faithful obedience. This year isn’t about striving harder. It’s about walking closer. Pull up a chair, take a breath, and let’s learn together how to live in the unforced rhythms of grace. 🎧 Listen now to Small Beginnings, and let God meet you right where you are, today.

A New Year Doesn’t Change Your Life, a Renewed Mind Does

1/15/2026
Send us a text As we step into a new year, I’ve been sitting with this truth: new calendars don’t create new lives—renewed minds do. In today’s episode of Small Beginnings, I’m anchoring us in Romans 12:2 and unpacking what it really means to be transformed—not by trying harder, but by allowing the Holy Spirit to renew the way we think. So many of us are praying for new results while holding on to old patterns. Scripture doesn’t call us to self-help, it calls us to Spirit-led transformation. When our thinking changes, our choices change. And when our choices change, our lives follow. We’ll talk about: between the earsconformedtransformedafterIf you’ve felt stuck, frustrated, or like you’re carrying the same struggles into a new year, this episode is for you. God isn’t asking you to control your thoughts—He’s inviting you to cooperate with His Spirit and think differently so you can live differently. ✨ A new year doesn’t change your life—but a renewed mind does. If God has been stirring something creative in you, whether through painting, journaling, cooking, or simply slowing down to listen, I’d love to walk with you deeper. Entering the New Year With God’s Presence, God’s People, and God’s Favor

1/8/2026
Send us a text The New Year doesn’t begin with a goal, it begins with a posture. Before the plans, the resolutions, and the pressure to move forward, God often invites us to pause. To be present. To listen. In this episode, I share why communion with God must come before clarity, and how learning to slow down can set the tone for the entire year ahead. We begin by looking at Moses’ request in Exodus 33, where he doesn’t ask God for a strategy, he asks for His presence. Because before God gives direction, He gives Himself. Communion with God isn’t something to check off, it’s a relationship that brings rest, peace, and grounding for new seasons. From there, we talk about being fully present with the people God has already placed in front of us. Jesus moved with compassion because He was attentive, not rushed. When we’re always looking ahead, we can miss the holy moments happening right now. We also explore how God gathers the right people for new assignments. Like Nehemiah, we see that favor often opens hearts before the work even begins, and discernment is key as seasons shift. We close with a prayer, asking first for God’s favor, His presence, His approval, and His leading, trusting that favor with people flows naturally from alignment with Him. As you step into this New Year, my prayer is that you wouldn’t rush ahead of God. That you would walk with Him, be present, gather wisely, and expect peace, not pressure. 🎧 Press play and begin this year rooted in God’s presence and led by His favor.

Favored by God, Finding Peace, and Trusting What Follows

12/17/2025
Send us a text In today’s episode of Small Beginnings with Sara, I’m talking about what it truly means to be favored by God—and why favor is often misunderstood. When we look at the lives of Mary and Jesus, we see that God’s favor didn’t remove uncertainty or difficulty, but it did bring purpose, presence, and peace. We’ll reflect on Luke 1 and Luke 2, where favor found Mary in an ordinary moment and rested on Jesus long before His public ministry began. God’s favor came before clarity, before recognition, and before the favor of man. In this episode, I share why favor with God always comes first, how peace is the evidence of living under His favor, and why we don’t have to strive for approval when we are rooted in Him. If you’ve been feeling pressure to perform or waiting for validation, this conversation is an invitation to rest. 🎧 Listen in and be reminded that God’s favor is already upon you—and peace is meant to follow.

Letting Go and Moving Forward, Walking Into the Unknown With God

12/10/2025
Send us a text In today’s episode of Small Beginnings with Sara, I’m sharing the very real, very personal journey I’m walking right now — a journey of letting go, of releasing what has held history and meaning for decades, and of trusting God as He leads me into a new season. I open my heart about packing up my life, releasing the bookcases I bought in 1986, saying goodbye to my beloved studio, and stepping into a new identity as a traveling artist. These aren’t just physical changes — they’re spiritual invitations. Invitations to loosen my grip, to make room for what God is preparing, and to walk by faith into places I’ve never been. Through the stories of Abraham, Joshua, Ruth, the Israelites, and the disciples, we explore how God has always called His people to move forward without having all the answers. And we anchor these truths with Scripture that has been holding me in this season — Isaiah 43, Ecclesiastes 3, Hebrews 11, and Psalm 121. Today’s episode is about: • Letting go of the familiar so God can lead you into the new • Recognizing His gentleness in every transition • Trusting Him when your future looks different than expected • Learning to see physical release as spiritual receiving • Holding hope when you’re stepping into unmarked territory If you are standing in your own doorway of transition, wondering how to move forward, I pray this conversation gives you courage, clarity, and companionship. 🎧 Join me for today’s episode, and let’s step into the unknown with God — together.

Waiting With Hope, Listening With Faith, Lessons From Zechariah

12/4/2025
Send us a text What does it look like to wait with hope when the waiting stretches into years, decades, or feels altogether impossible? In this episode, I’m walking with you through the story of Zechariah and Elizabeth in Luke 1 — two righteous, faithful people who loved God, served Him, and still lived with unfulfilled prayers. Their story has been ministering to my heart in this season, especially as I look back on my own unexpected miracle: two years ago I was waiting for a husband, and I had no idea that God would bring Earl into my life in just five weeks… and that we would be engaged only twenty days after meeting. God loves to surprise us. Maybe you’re waiting too. Waiting for a spouse. Waiting for a child. Waiting for provision. Waiting for healing. Waiting for community or a church home or a door that only God can open. Together, we’ll look at Luke 1:11–13 and Psalm 130:5 and talk about what hopeful waiting really looks like: • Keep serving while you wait. Zechariah was simply doing his daily work when God broke in. Obedience in the ordinary creates space for miracles. • God loves to interrupt our waiting. His timing is never random, it’s redemptive. • Believe God. Gabriel came straight from the presence of God to deliver a promise. God sees you too. • There is beauty in the process. God forms us, refines us, and prepares us in the waiting so that the miracle becomes His glory, not our striving. I’ll also guide you through gentle reflection questions: What are you longing for? Where do you feel barren or overlooked? Are you still showing up in the “temple” of your everyday assignments? Can you trust that God’s silence is not absence but preparation? We’ll end with a prayer of hope and a blessing, asking Emmanuel to draw near and fill us with the kind of expectant faith that transforms us from the inside out. If this episode speaks to you, I’d love for you to join me in one of my creative healing courses — because healing often comes while we wait, especially when we create with God. You can explore Ashes to Bloom, Refreshing the Soul, Divine Creativity, and more through the link in my bio. God still speaks. And He is working in your waiting more than you know.

A Season of Thanks, A Life of Presence

11/26/2025
Send us a text As we move through this full and beautiful Thanksgiving season, I’ve been asking myself, What is truly most important? In all the busyness, gatherings, cooking, and coming and going, God keeps bringing me back to one simple truth: thankfulness aligns my heart with His presence. In today’s episode, I’m sharing three powerful scriptures that have been anchoring me, especially after spending the weekend with my grandchildren and feeling my heart overflow with gratitude.
