In 1978, the late Barbara Johnson, a bestselling Christian author, published a book called “Where Does a Mother Go to Resign?” Then later, the publisher changed the name to “When Your Child Breaks Your Heart.” A heartfelt but one sided account of her grief after her son came out as gay. That book touched the hearts of many, but it also told only half the story. Now, decades later, David Johnson, her son, is sharing the other half. David is an author, survivor, cinema therapist and behavior modification psychotherapist. His new book, “When All Else Fails, Blame Your Mother,” is a powerful and personal response to the narrative his mother left behind. It's an unfiltered, emotionally raw, and often hilariously biting look at trauma, family, and what it means to take your story back. He's also the founder of the Crown Bear Society and the creative force behind the YouTube channel, David The Cinema Therapist, where he uses film and humor as therapeutic tools to help others heal, especially within the LGBTQ+ community. There's fear of the unknown and there's fear of change related to that. What I typically see happening is the best business leaders out there are really not just looking at the technology and up your skills or go away for the 30 days and learn 30 applications. They're looking at, 'how do I blend this technology with people and processes?' It's like a 3 legged stool. And is really a foundational component. AI is going to displace jobs, there's no doubt about it, but it's also going to create new jobs and augment existing jobs as well too. So according to the World Economic Forum last year, they're predicting over the next two years, 97 million new jobs will be created in this whole AI industry. Analytics, data, user experience, different ways of working with content. All these new startups are gonna be emerging and creating these new jobs. Existing jobs, if you think about our country, in the US, there's about 136 million employees in North in our United States right now. 80% of them are about 100 million are knowledge workers. So, those are the people that do marketing, sales, HR, writers, service-based, financial professions, doctors, right? So, 80% or 100 million of those people are going to be AI-assisted over the next couple of years. So it's going to augment existing jobs and activity." And so I identify problems, come up with solutions easy. I was just sitting around one day and it wasn't long after Hurricane Ike hit here, I just wanted to always write a novel. So I started writing. It took me a long time to write, but I finished it up last year. And I'd start and get busy, start again, get busy. And I'd have to go back, and every time I'd go back and restart, I'd have to read it to see where I was and look at all my notes to get back on. I have a good imagination and I just, you know, started putting notes down, kind of put an outline down on what I want to do and that's what came out. When I sat down to write the novel, I had no idea what I was going to write about, but that's what came out and I had fun doing it."
