Big Ang Lonardo - My first informant! He may have flipped at the end, but he had a hell of a ride! - Part 1

3/27/2024
Big Ang Lonardo - My first informant! He may have flipped at the end, but he had a hell of a ride! Part 1 of this series is a recap of what came before, Big Joe Lonardo. Joseph Lonardo (October 20, 1884 – October 13, 1927), also known as "Big Joe", was a Sicilian emigrant to the United States who became the first crime boss of the Cleveland crime family, which he structured from a competing number of organized crime gangs. When national Prohibition began in 1920, Lonardo became a dealer in corn sugar, an essential ingredient in the manufacture of corn whiskey. Lonardo became a "sugar baron" by driving other legitimate corn sugar merchants out of business, encouraging home distillation, and using intimidation, murder, and theft to eliminate or drive his criminal competitors out of business. Lonardo transformed his gang, the Mayfield Road Mob, into a powerful organized crime family. He had the support of the D'Aquila crime family of New York City, and engaged in widespread bribery of local judges, police, and politicians. His criminal organization's reliance on low-quality corn whiskey led to a drop in revenues when consumers began favoring better quality, illegally imported liquor. He began demanding unquestioning loyalty while taking little risk, alienating many bootleggers, home distillers, and organized crime figures. Lonardo's control of the Cleveland mafia was usurped in 1927 by underboss Salvatore "Black Sam" Todaro and the Porrello brothers while Lonardo was out of the country. When Lonardo returned to Cleveland, he attempted to regain control of the Cleveland mafia. His bodyguards were arrested as suspects in the Yorkell and Brownstein murders, leaving Lonardo unprotected. On October 13, 1927, he was murdered in a Porrello barber shop, likely on the orders of "Black Sam" Todaro. His death sparked Cleveland's Corn Sugar War. ⏳𝐕𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐎 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒 ⏳ 00:00 – Intro 11:51 – Angelo Anthony Lonardo 14:05 – Mary Scalish 18:54 – Big Joe Lonardo 30:51 – The Porrellos make a go of it on their own 36:12 – Sugar Wars 🍁 𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐚 🍁 🔔 For collaboration or promotion opportunities, email: danatruppianamobtimes@gmail.com withkoji.com: https://rb.gy/g7ojs Your source for the life and history of infamous gangsters ... and some other stuff, too. Joseph (Joey "The Clown") Lombardo is ANYTHING but a clown in real life - Part 2

3/20/2024
BEFORE WATCHING THIS WATCH PART 1 HERE: • Joseph (Joey "The Clown") Lombardo is... Lombardo's illicit career was rooted in the 1950's when he found work as a thug for West Side gangsters. At that time, the Chicago Outfit was thriving and a large cast of characters dominated the organized crime world focusing on prostitution, gambling, loansharking, jewel heists, labor racketeering and the various violent methods of controlling those who executed orders for street crews. On April 25, 2005, Lombardo, along with 13 other defendants was indicted as part of the federal government's Operation Family Secrets investigation, which lifted the veil on 18 killings since the 1970s that federal investigators had attributed to the Outfit. Lombardo was indicted for his role in at least one murder, as well as for running a racket based on illegal gambling, loan sharking and murder. On September 10, 2007, Lombardo was convicted of racketeering, extortion, loan sharking and murder.[23] On September 27, 2007, the same jury found Lombardo guilty of the 1974 Seifert murder.[24] On February 2, 2009, Zagel sentenced Lombardo, seated in a wheelchair, to life in prison for the convictions. Lombardo takes a litany of mob secrets to his grave. He never admitted anything, never showed any remorse for a life of crime and to his last breath, fulfilled the Outfit's blood oath of silence known as "omerta." ⏳𝐕𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐎 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒 ⏳ 00:00 – Intro and whale talk 07:23 – Recap 08:59 – Las Vegas skimming 11:39 – A plea (and a lie) to the public 14:21 – Investigating Operation Family Secrets 16:27 – Joseph Lombardo is on the run 24:16 – The capture of Joseph Lombardo 26:29 – The Family Secrets trial 35:08 – The end of Joseph Lombardo’s life in prison 🍁 𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐚 🍁 🔔 For collaboration or promotion opportunities, email: danatruppianamobtimes@gmail.com withkoji.com: https://rb.gy/g7ojs Your source for the life and history of infamous gangsters ... and some other stuff, too. Lombardo's ascension to the top rank of the Chicago mob was confirmed by a 1978 photograph that has become know as "The Last Supper" picture. It shows Lombardo dining with the highest ranking hoodlums in the city, including the late godfather Tony Accardo. In organized crime circles, Lombardo was more apt to be called "Lumpy" for his administration of beatings that would result in epidermis lumps on the recipient. The mafia killed Theodore Roe for trying to keep the Policy Racket in the African American community

3/6/2024
Theodore Roe kept the Policy Racket in the community 'til they killed him to get it Teddy Roe was an African-American mob boss who built an illegal gambling empire in South Side, Chicago during the 1940s and 1950s. He moved to Chicago when he was 31 and got a job with a tailor on the South Side. His employer, Edward Jones, got into the numbers racket or policy game (the early lottery) and Teddy became one his main runners. By 1946 they were bring in $25 million a year and the local Mafia wanted a piece of the action. The Jones brothers said no, so the mob kidnapped Jones, Teddy paid the $100,000 ransom and the Jones brothers promised to get out of the numbers game and relocated to Mexico. Not Teddy! He chose to take over the Jones operation. Roe earned the nickname "Robinhood" because of his philanthropy among the neighborhood poor. In their heyday, policy kings were the black community's banks and employers in Chicago. In the early part of the 20th century, segregation and economic discrimination had a devastating effect on African American communities throughout the United States, and in Chicago and some of the other major cities in the north, the policy industry generated a lot of money to poor black neighborhoods. Policy kings put a lot of their earnings into legitimate businesses such as car dealerships and churches. Aside from running a smooth operation, Roe is remembered for paying hospital bills for newborns, and funeral tabs for the deceased. On one occasion, an elderly woman who had hit the number with one of the shady gangster wheels in town, came to Roe to complain that the gang had not paid her her money for the hit. Roe and some of his boys went over to the men and persuaded them to give her her winnings. He has also been known to walk the streets of poor black neighborhoods passing out fifty dollar bills to needy people. After refusing to pay "street tax" or hand over his illegal gambling empire to the Chicago Outfit, Roe fatally shot a made man who had been ordered to assassinate him. Even though the killing was ruled self defense, Roe was murdered in retaliation by the Sicilian-American Outfit crew commanded by caporegime Sam Giancana on August 4, 1952. ⏳𝐕𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐎 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒 ⏳ 00:00 – Intro 05:02 – Theodore’s childhood 08:41 – Teddy’s life of crime begins with Prohibition 10:11 – On to the big D 15:36 – Edward P Jones and Chicago 21:05 – A policy business is born 25:59 – Policy games in African American communities 31:24 – Italians v African Americans for control of the Policy 58:11 – The downfall of Chicago’s African American owned policy racket Links: Billy Donahue: • Billy Donahue's murder has gone unsol... Schiro's leadership of the mafia clan would see it orchestrate the "Good Killers" murders, control gambling and protection rackets in Brooklyn, engage in bootlegging during Prohibition, and print counterfeit money. A conflict with rival mafia boss Joe Masseria would force Schiro out as boss, after which he returned to Sicily. ⏳𝐕𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐎 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒 ⏳ 00:00 – Intro 03:56 – Nicolo Schiro in Italy 09:46 – Nicolo Schiro in America 11:17 – The Blue Laws 12:12 – Nicolo Schiro, a mafia boss 15:15 – Meet Zeus!! 22:02 – Giuseppe “Joe the Boss” Morello 28:11 – Salvatore D’Aquila 29:39 – The first mafia war 34:41 – Giosue Gallucci 37:04 – Salvatore Loiacano 40:55 – Nicolo Gentile 47:35 – Gaspar Milazzo 🍁 𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐚 🍁 🔔 For collaboration or promotion opportunities, email: danatruppianamobtimes@gmail.com withkoji.com: https://rb.gy/g7ojs Your source for the life and history of infamous gangsters ... and some other stuff, too. Semion Mogilivich - The Brainy Don, Russia’s Boss of Bosses, and FBI’s top 10 most wanted!

8/5/2023
Semion Mogilivich - The Brainy Don, Russia's Boss of Bosses, and FBI's top 10 most wanted! Semion Yudkovich Mogilevich is a Ukrainian-born Russian organized crime boss. He quickly built a highly structured criminal organization, in the mode of an American mafia family; many of the organization's 250 members are his relatives. He is described by agencies in the European Union and United States as the "boss of all bosses" of most Russian Mafia syndicates in the world, he is believed to direct a multibillion-dollar international criminal empire and is described by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as "the most powerful and dangerous gangster in the world." With immense power and reach at a global scale, and connections to prominent government, military and law enforcement officials and powerful politicians around the world. He has been accused by the FBI of "weapons trafficking, contract murders, extortion, drug trafficking, and prostitution on an international scale." Mogilevich's nicknames include "Don Semyon" and "The Brainy Don" (because of his business acumen). According to US diplomatic cables, he controls RosUkrEnergo, a company actively involved in Russia–Ukraine gas disputes, and is a partner of Ivan Gordiyenko. Mogilevich has three children and is closely associated with the Solntsevskaya Bratva crime group. He has alliances with political figures including Yury Luzhkov, the former Mayor of Moscow, Dmytro Firtash, and Leonid Derkach, former head of the Security Service of Ukraine. Oleksandr Turchynov, who was designated the acting President of Ukraine in February 2014, appeared in court in 2010 for allegedly destroying files pertaining to Mogilevich. Shortly before his assassination, Russian FSB defector Alexander Litvinenko claimed Mogilevich had a "good relationship" with Vladimir Putin from the 1990s. William S. Sessions, Director of the FBI from 1987 to 1993 during the presidencies of Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush, was Mogilevich's attorney in the United States until Sessions' death on June 12, 2020. ⏳𝐕𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐎 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒 ⏳ 0:00 – Intro 02:15 – Life Update 13:29 – Semion Mogilevich – Early days 18:33 – The beginning of a criminal career 30:52 – The fall of the Soviet Union 40:56 – Army Co-Op 45:38 – The rise and fall of Inkombank 54:10 – The raid of U Holubu 01:01:06 – YBM Magnix International, Inc. 01:07:50 – Mogilevich on the run 01:21:45 – Tax fraud scandal 01:30:04 – Alexander Litvinenko 01:34:38 – Russian Arrest 🍁 𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐚 🍁 Your source for the life and history of infamous gangsters ... and some other stuff, too. Then, watch Part 2 here: • Part 2 - Albert A... Albert Anastasia (born “Anastasio,” the masculine form of the Italian name) was a mobster who came out of the tough streets of Lower Manhattan to run one of the Five Families of La Cosa Nostra through the first half of the 20th century. Along the way, he built a reputation as one of the Mob’s most feared killers. Anastasia was reportedly a member of Murder Incorporated, the kill-for-hire crew that worked for Charlie “Lucky” Luciano and others in the years of Prohibition. Anastasia was, according to reports, one of the four men in 1931 who assassinated Giuseppe “Joe the Boss” Masseria, a powerful Mob boss, in the bloody gang rivalry known as the Castellammarese War. Anastasia was charged in three murders – in 1928, 1932 and 1933 – but in each case, witnesses either disappeared or refused to testify. Two other high-level Mob informants, both under police custody, died before their testimony helped bring Anastasia to trial, in 1941 and 1942. During World War II, Anastasia joined the U.S. Army. He also reportedly helped engineer the deal that eventually allowed Luciano, then ostensibly serving a life sentence for multiple prostitution-related convictions, to get out of prison (and go into exile in Italy) in exchange for keeping the New York City docks free of wartime Nazi infiltration. Anastasia worked for the Army training longshoremen on the East Coast. In 1943, he received U.S. citizenship for his military service, and he was honorably discharged from the Army in 1944. Eventually, Gambino moved against his sometime family boss. Anastasia was gunned down while he was sitting in a barber chair in Manhattan. Gambino assumed the family leadership, which would eventually become known as the Gambino crime family. ⏳𝐕𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐎 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒 ⏳ 00:00 – Intro 04:45 – Recap from Part 2 05:13 – Gambino Family History 15:55 – Joseph Valachi 21:34 – Arnold Schuster & Willie Sutton 26:48 – Reorganization of the mafia families 31:28 – Henry Gross 35:46 – Articles devoted to Anastasia 37:24 – The Death of Albert Anastasia 42:44 – Sam DeCavalcante’s take 44:43 – Tough Tony 45:16 – Salvatore Anastasio 50:52 – Anthony Anastasia’s family’s life 52:51 – Anthony Anastasio, the rat? 56:02 – Albert Anastasia’s family’s life 57:52 - FINALLY, the END! 🍁 𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐚 🍁 Your source for the life and history of infamous gangsters ... and some other stuff, too.
