Even just between the years of 1968-1970, there were 11 brutal murders in the London area - the majority of which are still unsolved. When 3 members of the Row family are killed in a house fire, police are quick to call it arson. When 17 year old Shauna Card was found in her own bathroom with 76 stab wounds, nothing about the crime made sense. There were no obvious suspects and no clear motive. In the 1970s, there was a serial killer preying on San Francisco's gay community and almost 50 years later, he's never been caught. Because the victims were seen as minorities, the crimes didnt really make front page news. Police didnt really even seem to care.. Until they learned of a very weird pattern. This killer apparently sketched his victims on napkins before taking them to their violent deaths… and thus, the media dubbed him, the Doodler Killer. On December 7th 1811, the Marr family was massacred inside their own home for what seemed like no reason. Terrified at the lack of an apparent motive, locals tried to convince themselves that a vicious foreigner had sailed into the London docks to kill the family and then fled. The Marrs must've had a target on their back and this was an isolated event. Until two weeks later, when another innocent family met the same fate. On the morning of March 14th 1987, the bodies of 32 year old Nancy Newman and her two daughters, 8 year old Melissa and 3 year old Angie were found in their apartment, after each having suffered an incredibly violent death. While valuable items were missing, investigators quickly inferred that this was not a robbery gone wrong. These murders were personal and that made it all the more haunting. In the early morning hours of October 31st 2012, firefighters were called to the scene of a raging apartment fire. Investigators quickly determined this was no accident. The arson fire had been purposely set to cover up a homicide. But even with the extreme lengths the killer had gone to to destroy evidence, police were still able to find their guy.
