In February 2018, 25-year-old Patrick De La Cerda was at home when he fell victim to an ambush-style shooting. His fiancée Jessica Devnani’s jealous ex-boyfriend, Gregory Bender, had been sending harassing messages to the couple for months. After a judge had issued a restraining order, the threats stopped… until the morning of the murder. On October 16, 2014, 21-year-old Skylar Nemetz shot and killed his wife, 19-year-old Danielle Nemetz. Neighbors who heard the shot were the ones to report the shooting, as Skylar was making no attempt to seek help for his wife. On April 10, 2018, 16-year-old Kyle Plush got trapped in the back of his minivan, and was being crushed by the 3rd row of seats. In December of 2015, 27-year-old Jessie Bardwell moved from Alabama to Texas to live with her boyfriend, 28-year-old Jason Lowe. On April 25, 2010, a panic-stricken 25-year-old Heidi Firkus called 911 to report a break-in in her and her husband Nick’s home. That’s when there was a gunshot and screaming. On December 2, 2019, 43-year-old Christine Holloway was found dead in her home, her young baby Vanessa missing. Her boyfriend, 48-year-old Jose Morales was immediately under suspicion, as he was high, unhelpful with police, and just generally unconcerned for his dead girlfriend and missing baby. On November 8, 2019, 24-year-old Morgan Patten made the long trip from her home down to Jacksonville, NC to visit her fiancé, Phil Brandon, a Marine training at Camp Geiger. On February 28, 2011, 24-year-old Shelley Mook dropped her 6-year-old daughter Lilli off at her ex-husband Tyler Mook’s house. Shelley allegedly stayed for an hour and then left to run some errands. However, she never returned. Her car was later found abandoned and burned in a field nearby.
