In this weeks episode of Twisted Talks we cover the case of Ed Gein, also known as the Butcher of Plainfield. Ed was suspected of the abduction of Bernice Worden in November 1957 but in truth he was responsible for some much darker and more gruesome crimes. In this weeks episode of Twisted Talks we look at the case of Elizabeth Smart. Elizabeth was abducted on the 5th of June 2002, at the age of 14, from her own bedroom in Salt Lake City, Utah by Brian David Mitchell. Elizabeth endured horrendous treatment at the hands of Brian Mitchell for almost a year before being reunited with her family thanks to someone recognising her abductor and phoning the authorities. In this weeks episode of Twisted Talks, we pick back up where we left off last week, uncovering more about what Barney and Betty Hill experienced. We go through what the couple recalled in their hypnosis sessions, what Dr Benjamin Simon thought was the explanation to it all, and we look at what seems most likely, was it a hoax, a delusion, or reality. In this weeks episode of Twisted Talks we dive into the first reported UFO sighting and the first reported alien abduction. The first reported UFO sighting takes us back to June of 1947, when civilian pilot Kenneth Arnold was on his way to an air show and witnessed strange bright objects in the sky near him. The first reported alien abduction takes us back to September of 1961, when husband and wife, Barney and Betty Hill, were making their way back from Canada back to their home in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, USA. What happened to them that night would not become clear until quite some time after as a result of undergoing hypnosis to get back their repressed memories. Duncan was never charged for his 1996 murders of sisters Sammiejo White (11) and Carmen Cubias (9), his downfall came when he murdered 4 members of the Groene family and met his match in the resilient 8-year-old Shasta Groene. Richard Trenton Chase, born on May 23rd 1950, was an American serial killer, cannibal, and necrophile who killed six people between late 1977 and early 1978 in Sacramento, California. He was nicknamed 'The Vampire of Sacramento' or the 'Dracula Killer' because he drank his victims' blood and cannibalized their remains. The Bhopal disaster was a chemical leak in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India at a plant owned by 'Union Carbide India Limited', a subsidiary of the American company 'Union Carbide Corporation' In the early hours of December 3rd 1984, over 40 tons of methyl isocyanate, a toxic and dangerous gas, leaked from its storage tank and made its way over nearby areas, areas that were densely populated, resulting in the immediate deaths of thousands of people, and even more injured, some people experienced short term effects (acute symptoms) while others have suffered long term effects as a result. To this day the site of the Bhopal plant has yet to be cleaned properly. Join us as we go through what was known as the world's worst industrial disaster at the time. Resources Available Here.

In this week’s episode of Twisted Talks we take a look at the case of Georgia Tann. Georgia was born as Beulah George Tann in 1891 in Hickory, Mississippi, her father George was a district judge, her mother Beulah was a schoolteacher and her brother Roy would go on to enlist in the Army. Georgia became a social worker and started the Shelby Co Chapter of the Tennessee Children’s Home Society. 5000 children would be adopted out of the Society as it became known and from an outsider’s perspective Georgia’s efforts seemed wholesome, but the truth was far more sinister. In this weeks episode of Twisted Talks we look at the case of Armin Meiwes. Armin was born on the 1st of December 1961 in Essen, Germany. At a young age his father walked out on Armin and his mother. Armin began to have strange thoughts about cannibalism at a young age, however he never acted on any of his cannibalistic thoughts until after the passing of his mother in 1991. That's when everything got much more sinister. Armin would take the life of Bernd Jürgen Armando Brandes in March of 2001. This true crime case was complicated from the very start as Germany lacked laws regarding cannibalism, and Armin's victim had consented to what took place that day and night, but can a person really consent to someone else mutilating and killing them? After our one week off, we are back with another episode, due to my (Josh) holiday this was actually our first time recording in about 6 or 7 weeks so apologies for how chaotic it is to begin with, we were giddy especially me (Josh). This week we look at the case of Gary Ridgway aka the Green River Killer. Gary Leon Ridgway, commonly known as the Green River Killer, was born on the 18th of February 1949 in Salt Lake City, Utah, U.S. Ridgway was the country's deadliest convicted serial killer and claimed to have murdered over 70 women in Washington during the 1980's and 1990's. Ridgway plead guilty to 49 murders in as part of a plea deal to avoid the death penalty. This week we look at the case of Sophie Lionnet. Sophie moved to London from her home in north-east France in 2016. Sophie worked as an au pair for for Sabrina Kouider and her partner Ouissem Medouni. The couple tortured and killed Sophie before burning her body on a bonfire in their garden, all over the couples delusion that Sophie was having an affair with an ex of Sabrina.
