The Someone To Tell It To Podcast

Health & Wellness Podcasts

We started Someone To Tell It To in 2012, and all along, our philosophy has been to listen. Because our mission is to "cultivate meaningful connections through compassionate listening and train others to do the same," we thought it might be best to highlight both aspects—listening and training—in a podcast. Both listening and training continue to catalyze this global listening movement where Someone's voice is being heard, Someone is being reminded that they matter, and Someone doesn't need to feel alone in whatever they are facing in life. We are so excited to share these rich conversations with you. Please subscribe to hear each new episode as soon as it's released!

6.12 Let Us Not Be Silent About The Things That Matter (Rebroadcast)

2/20/2024
We are proud to share this as our 100th episode of the Someone To Tell It To Podcast. This very special episode was first aired in July 2020. Dr, Mary Frances Berry was our guest. Dr. Berry is a civil rights icon. In our conversation with her we heard stories of her experiences with visionaries and prophets such as the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther and Loretta Scott King, world leaders such as Nelson and Winnie Mandela, and sports superstars such as Arthur Ashe, all icons in their own rights, like Dr, Berry. She is a historian, writer, lawyer, activist, professor, and was a university provost and chancellor. She also served with distinction in the United States government under five presidents - Jimmy Carter through George W. Bush - including as the chairperson of the United States Commission on Civil Rights. We felt incredibly privileged to have had this illuminating conversation with her. Dr. Berry spoke of serious and timely issues, especially about the rights and experiences of people who were historically marginalized in society. She also spoke with humor and passion. We loved this conversation and will always be grateful to her for gracing our platform with her presence, values, and vision for a better world. This is an episode of which we are deeply proud. So, during this Black History Month, we want to offer it to our audience again. Dr. Berry’s words and life are a testament to all those who have dedicated their lives to bringing about a world in which everyone is valued, everyone is equal in their humanity, and everyone is given the same opportunities to live a meaningful and good life.

6.9 Justice is Never "Just Us"

11/28/2023
Marc Kline retired his law license to go to Rabbinical school. Over his career, Marc has served in three previous communities rebuilding congregations, and been active in Justice and Interfaith work locally, regionally, and globally. He feels blessed to bring the legacy gifts his teachers have shared with him into his work and community consulting. Marc’s primary focus as a Rabbi roots in a several thousand-year-old precept found in Pirke Avot (amongst the earliest of Rabbinic writings): “If I am not for myself, who will be for me? If I am only for myself, what good am I? If not now, when?” As he sees it, community building is Torah’s primary goal. He believes that working in faith must take care of everyone, not just those in our circle. He works to bridge the chasms that alienate people from each other. 8/22/2023
Ken Mossman partners with men to grow their presence, sharpen their focus, and up-level their leadership. He needs to develop his awareness of himself and others, his empathy, and his capacity to see and take responsibility for his vision, his values, and the impact he has. We get down in the trenches and work on emotional literacy, fluency, and flexibility. We explore the light, the shadow, and everything in between.” We explore together with Ken in this episode. And we do it again, twice, on Ken’s podcast - “Mojo for the Modern Man”, later this autumn. It was a privilege to have three incredible and vulnerable conversations with Ken. He makes it so easy!
