Genealogies remind us that God has a plan for our lives! He wants to use us! He wants to use our children and our grandchildren and we can see that from Jesus’ genealogy.

Why are so many people confused when they hear the good news about Jesus? Why is it that someone can read the Bible and yet it makes no sense to them? Why is Nicodemus having a difficult time understanding what Jesus is telling him about being born again? Why are people afraid they might not be saved because of their past that they can’t get over? Times are changing and because of that, Pastors should be teaching the Bible. Pastors should be preparing their people to stand up amidst persecution. Pastors should be telling people what Jesus said it means to follow Him which consists of counting the cost. Taking up our cross. Seeking His Kingdom over ours. Is that what we are hearing on Sunday mornings?

We all have days where we feel Discouraged, despised, and defeated. These are the days we can’t seem to understand what God is doing. We don’t know why people don’t want to hang out with us anymore. We try to tell people about Jesus and they laugh at us. But as we grow up in our faith none of that bothers us anymore because we know that our mission in life is to follow Jesus wherever He leads. Today we will see how God can use wicked political leaders for His own purpose. Then we will ask this question: Have you ever accidentally lost your child? Mary and Joseph did that with Jesus when he was 12. Today we will talk about those things as we continue in Luke.

What if you were thrown in jail because of your faith in Jesus? How would you respond? Today we will see what happens when Peter and John are locked up in a jail cell and their response is amazing. They were courageous. They were bold and it made them WANT to tell even more people about Jesus. Join us today as we see that when we follow Jesus His message burns in our soul and we CAN’T walk away from Him no matter what hardship comes our way.

Imagine God telling you that you are to wait for one specific thing to happen and He asks you to wait for it. So you wait. And you wait. And now you are getting old but you really do believe God, so you continue to wait. Today we will meet a man named Simeon who was told by God that he would not die until he saw Jesus, but he would have to wait. And then one day at the temple a young woman walks in with a baby and Simeon knows that with this baby – his waiting was over. Join us today to see the importance of never giving up.

Why is it that so many people who claim to be Christians act no different than non-Christians? Why are our churches so divided? Why is there so much anger, bitterness, sexual sin, and gossip going on among professed Christians? Well…it could be that these people claiming to be Christians aren’t really Christians. They might be “unsaved believers.” Today we will hear this from Jesus Himself as He teaches 2 parables that remind us that in the church there will be true born-again believers and false, unsaved believers.
