The Strange Dark

2/18/2026
Send a text Katie, Bridget, and special guest/writer/director/producer/prop master Chris Messineo close their eyes and squeeze real hard as they re-watch the movie: The Strange Dark! Which, if you didn't piece it together already, was created by Chris himself! Come along as we meet Susan, the best actress by the end of the movie, who has to decide whether to trust her husband Edgar or instead trust the scary agents who showed up to her door and are menacing. But trusting Edgar isn't so easy, since he reveals he's stolen data that can help him see the future because of sci-fi exposition and reverse DejaVu - which is actually a real thing guys we swear! When Edgar predicts how the night will end, our characters end up getting tangled up in Lord of the Rings references, witty banter, and some wild prop effects that leave you wanting to rewatch the movie for all the Easter eggs and clues! We also get to hear all the inside scoop about what it takes to make a movie, how sometimes the location for the movie hasn't had their electric bill paid in years (oops), and how important intimacy coordinators are. Chris did the damn thing and he deserves all the hype! Released in 2024, the movie was written and directed by Chris Messineo and stars Nili Bassman, Caleb Scott, Carmen Borla, Bates Wilder, John Beckwith, Carson Jean Holley, and Athan Sporek.

Stand By Me

2/11/2026
Send a text Katie and Bridget go look for a dead body in the woods as they re-watch the iconic and nostalgic movie: Stand By Me! Despite what Bridget thinks - we have yet to review this one! Come along as we follow four 12 year old friends who go on an impulsive journey to find the dead body of a missing boy. We've got Gordie, a depressed future writer who will shoot you with a gun if you mess with his friends; Chris, everyone's favorite confidence fairy and personal cheerleader who SHOULD HAVE LIVED DAMMIT; Teddy, a guy who should have watched Degrassi (season 2 - episode 2) and LEARNED SOMETHING from it; and Vern, who's just... Well, Vern! They have to deal with leeches, scary Kiefer Sutherlands, and emotional confessions all within this heartfelt movie that will make you think about the friends you had when you were 12, as well as think about where all the treehouses went. Seriously, let's bring back treehouses! Released in 1986, it was based off of the Stephen King novella "The Body" and stars Wil Wheaton, River Phoenix, Corey Feldman, Jerry O'Connell, and Kiefer Sutherland.

Spice World

2/4/2026
Send us a text Katie and Bridget figure out what their Spice Girl names would be as they re-watch the movie: Spice World! OY! Come along as we follow the Spice Girls along lots of random side quests that don't really follow a plot! We've got the whole gang here (Scary Spice, Baby Spice, Sporty Spice, Ginger Spice, and Posh Spice) as they basically don't act and just hang out in front of a camera with random things happening. You want to hear them sing some iconic songs? You can! You want to see them do synchronized dances? You can! You want to watch them hang out on a bus and do silly cut aways most likely without a real movie script? YOU CAN! All wrapped into this clearly cash grab but also an honestly really fun time that you don't really need to pay full attention to. Just know that Posh Spice somehow is the funniest of them all! Released in 1997, it stars the Spice Girls along with other notable actors including Alan Cumming, Richard E. Grant, Elton John, Meat Loaf, Claire Rushbrook, and Naoko Mori.

Annie

1/28/2026
Send us a text Katie and Bridget sing very loudly and do choreography as they re-watch the Broadway Musical adaptation: Annie! It might have one of the weirdest political messaging of all time, but god damn it do the songs just slap! Come along as we meet Annie, a little orphan with a bad wig and a dream, hoping to escape the orphanage and find her real parents - all while loudly singing about it while everyone's trying to sleep. But when Annie gets adopted (only for a week as a PR stunt LOL) by the rich Daddy Warbucks - real name - she gets to experience what being rich is really about. All while the rest of her friends still at the orphanage with the drunk Miss Hannigan continue to have to do chores and get abused! When Daddy Warbucks offers a reward for Annie's real parents to come forth, the real evil greed of money is shown and Annie almost falls off a building or something. But it's fine because money solves everything and so does SINGING! YAY! We've got hardcore Republican messaging (HELP), gin baths, and banger songs all in this really entertaining movie musical. Released in 1982, it stars Aileen Quinn, Albert Finney, Carol Burnett, Ann Reinking, Tim Curry, and Bernadette Peters.

Big Daddy

12/31/2025
Send us a text Katie and Bridget dress up as Scuba Steve as they re-watch the surprisingly heartwarming movie: Big Daddy! Come along as we meet Sonny, a 32 year old man-child, who pseudo adopts and/or kidnaps his roommate's illegitimate child who shows up at their apartment one day. When Sonny and the kid Julian - aka Fwankenstein - start to bond, Sonny discovers what it truly means to be a dad and how gentle parenting may not be the best method. Seriously nobody wants to have raised the "smelly kid"! This movie has us asking the deep questions such as: Should all parents dress up as their kids favorite toy to get them to listen to them? Did Adam Sandler invent the Montessori method? What ever happened to all the weird children's programming that used to exist - like Julian's kangaroo video!? All this and more in this very 90's and very Adam Sandler movie. Released in 1999, it stars Adam Sandler, Joey Lauren Adams, Cole and Dylan Sprouse, Jon Stewart, Leslie Mann, and Josh Mostel.

Christmas with the Kranks

12/24/2025
Send us a text Katie and Bridget KRANK IT UP as they re-watch the movie: Christmas with the Kranks! Come along as we meet Luther and Nora Krank, a couple who says goodbye to their daughter before Christmas time (girls in the Peace Core... Allegedly...) and they become severely depressed. But as anyone from Jersey knows, the one cure to fixing the holiday blues involves three simple things: tanning, Botox, and cruises! When the Kranks decide to skip out on Christmas the movie becomes a horror movie, and nightmare induced bullying ensues! At least up until their daughter announces she's coming home for Christmas last minute - and possibly getting married!? - then they pivot and slap that Krank button to get the holiday spirit back in swing at their house. We've got Christmas sweater vests, early 2000's references, and a big old bob-cut all wrapped up in this tonally confusing Christmas movie! Released in 2004, it stars Tim Allen, Jamie Lee Curtis, Dan Aykroyd, M. Emmet Walsh, Elizabeth Franz, and Erik Per Sullivan.

March of the Wooden Soldiers

12/17/2025
Send us a text Katie and Bridget rent a room in a shoe as they re-watch their family's (for some reason) nostalgic Christmas movie: March of the Wooden Soldiers! If you haven't taken an edible already - BUCKLE UP! Come along as we go to Toy Land and meet all of the classic Nursey Rhyme characters. There's Mother Goose and her literal live goose wearing a bow; Little Bo Peep, who everyone in town wants to make their child bride; Tom Tom, who's apparently NOT Peter Pan and is instead the Pied Piper(!?); The Three Little Pigs who WILL give you nightmares; and the rest of the nightmare infused characters! But most importantly we have Stannie Dum and Ollie Dee, the two best friends that anybody could have who help save the day! We've got a demonic knock-off Mickey Mouse, funny physical comedy, and endless questions all wrapped up into this strange movie that we all simultaneously forgot existed until we put it on to watch! Released in 1934, it was originally titled "Babes in Toyland" and stars Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy.

Scrooged

12/10/2025
Send us a text Katie and Bridget cheer on Mary Lou Retton doing backflips as Tiny Tim as they re-watch the WEIRD 80's movie: Scrooged! It's one of the strangest adaptations of A Christmas Carol and we blame BILL MURRAY JUST. CAUSE! Come along as we meet Frank - aka Scrooge, who is a jerk for about 90% of this movie, so much so that a grandma dies offscreen because of his horrible advertisement commercial that reminds us of A Manson Family Christmas. Aka, how television and media basically is today! When he gets visited by three ghosts to help teach him what it means to be kind (and to also kick him in the balls multiple times), he learns that Christmas isn't about television or making money... It's about reconnecting with your long lost girlfriend who really should have just ignored your missed call and/or replied to you with a "who dis?" message! We've got a movie that feels like it should have been directed by Tim Burton with lots of Bill Murray ad-libbing that you'll definitely want to take an edible for this holiday season! Released in 1988, it stars Bill Murray, Karen Allen, John Forsythe, Bobcat Goldthwait, David Johansen, Carol Kane, Alfre Woodard, and Robert Mitchum.

Dead Poets Society

12/3/2025
Send us a text Katie and Bridget read poems in a cave as they re-watch the movie: Dead Poets Society! We all remember how inspirational Robin Williams is as the teacher from this movie. In fact it was so iconic that its been replicated and spoofed plenty of times (looking at you Derry Girls)! But did you remember that its also very SAD!? And DEPRESSING!? Because TEEN SUICIDE IS REAL AND SCARY AND WE NEED TO TAKE MENTAL HEALTH MORE SERIOUSLY!!! .... Ahem, also conformity is evil. Yay! Come long as we meet the friends living at the boarding school who all have their lives changed by Mr. Keating - a man who supports standing on desks. There's Neil, a thespian who we also should say RIP to; Todd, who's real shy until public poetry gives him confidence; Charlie, the only typical teenager in this gaggle; Knox, a guy that his crush probably should have called the police on; and Richard, a red-headed bitch who ruins lives! Together they learn about poetry, secret societies, and how not to walk in tandem with one another. Released in 1989, it stars Robin Williams, Robert Sean Leonard, Ethan Hawke, Josh Charles, Gale Hansen, and Dylan Kussman.

Legally Blonde

11/19/2025
Send us a text Katie and Bridget Bend and Snap as they re-watch the iconic 2000's movie: Legally Blonde! It's a movie all about how if your ex-boyfriend is a loser who dumps you at the START of a dinner together and then you decide to follow him to law school but you quickly realize he's a jabrony - takes a deep breathe - that you should just forgot about his butt-head and become star student instead! What!? Like it's hard!? Come along as we meet Elle Woods, a newly admitted Harvard Law student who quickly dominates the school and shows everyone there's more to her than just her blonde hair and fashion sense! ...Because wearing pink equals fashion sense, apparently! This movie has us asking the deeps questions, such as: What happens within our justice system if a witness to a murder trials confesses to the crime on the stand? How common is it to get a 179/180 on your LSATs? Did Kim Kardashian steal the faux fur panties idea from this movie while she was studying to go to law school!? All this and more in this funny, feministic movie that in our opinion, holds up! Released in 2001, it stars Reese Witherspoon, Luke Wilson, Selma Blair, Matthew Davis, Jennifer Coolidge, Ali Larter, Alanna Ubach, Jessica Cauffiel, and Victor Garber.

An American Tail: Fievel Goes West

11/5/2025
Send us a text Katie and Bridget debate the phonetic spelling for "Fievel" as they re-watch the animated sequel - An American Tail: Fievel Goes West! Come along as we once again follow Fievel and his family as they, once again, decide to immigrate elsewhere, and - ONCE AGAIN - Fievel gets lost during the trek. But don't worry, he somehow is able to survive in the desert for who knows how long, teaches us about mirages, and makes it back to his family just as they are putting together their own Saw-esq death trap! When Fievel tries to warn his family about the evil plot from the cats to turn them all into mouseburgers, nobody believes him and he has to go bother the famous cowboy dog Wylie Burp to help him. How can a little mouse defeat a hoard of evil cats enacting their own Ocean's 11 murder plot? He can't! But his best friend Tiger (who is a cat) can help once he learns how to be a dog! We've got lazy eyes, questionable song lyrics, and a familiar plot with a cowboy twist all wrapped up into this light-hearted American Tail sequel (squeek-uel?). Released in 1991, it features voice acting from Phillip Glasser, James Stewart, Cathy Cavadini, Dom DeLuise, John Cleese, Jon Lovitz, and Amy Irving.

Van Helsing

10/29/2025
Send us a text Katie and Bridget get the hell out of Transylvania as they re-watch: Van Helsing! It's a movie all about vampires, werewolves, Frankensteins, and monster hunters - all of whom are KINDA HOT! WHY!? Come along as we meet our main character Van Helsing, a man who has weird ethics but truly wins the beauty pageant for hottest werewolf. When he is sent to Transylvania to kill Dracula he encounters a lot more bullshit and jam packed action than we could have imagined. So much so that we might actually get lost in the plot when talking about it, but we certainly didn't feel that way while watching it! This movie asks the deep questions, such as: Why did Dracula put his hidden castle in Narnia? Why does Anna have to wear a corset, leather pants, AND heels while fighting vampires and werewolves? WHY DID WE ABANDON FRANKENSTEIN IN A GRAVEYARD WITH NO SECURITY AND THEN ACT SURPRISED WHEN HE GETS KIDNAPPED!? All these and more in this fun, spoopy flick! Released in 2004, it was written and directed by Stephen Sommers and stars Hugh Jackman, Kate Beckinsale, Richard Roxburgh, David Wenham, and Shuler Hensley.

Heathers

10/22/2025
Send us a text Katie and Bridget change their names to "Heather" as they re-watch the 80's cult classic: Heathers! It's a movie all about lots of teen angst, death, and suicide... But somehow nobody ever cries or is afraid or calls the police and we all just giggle while it's all happening!? Huh!?! Come along as we meet Veronica - aka NOT a Heather. When she meets new student JD - aka PSYCHO GUY - they begin a weird love affair that results in death... Lots and lots of death. But don't worry about the police or anything because all of these deaths are really just "suicides" and who needs DNA evidence anyway!? When Veronica gets fed up with JD's bullshit (a little too late in the game, but here we are), she decides to beat him at his own game and save the school from being blown up. Hi - how was this made into a Broadway musical!? We've got shoulder pads, 80's high school tropes, and absurdity in this weird, weird movie. Released in 1988, it stars Winona Ryder, Christian Slater, Shannen Doherty, Lisanne Falk, and Kim Walker.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show

10/15/2025
Send us a text Katie and Bridget learn about lips as they re-watch the 70's cult classic: The Rocky Horror Picture Show! Come along as we take you on a strange journey... Filled with corsets, Frankenstein monsters with bowl cuts, and songs that we don't understand the lyrics to. Hey - we said it was gonna be a strange journey! Our main stars are Brad and Janet, two PRUDES (I GUESS) who find themselves lost at Dr. Frank-N-Furter's castle; a place filled with music, boning, and apparently aliens. When the two unwillingly spend the night there they encounter a loss of clothes but a gain of STDs! So there's that! This movie asks the deep questions, such as: If you make a Frankenstein monster, is it the age of it's brain or the age of a newborn? Did this movie help or harm the general public's perception of transvestites? Why was Meat Loaf there and what the hell was he singing about!? All this and more in this movie that you'll wish you took an edible or a nap during. Released in 1975, starring Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick, Richard O'Brien, Patricia Quinn, Nell Campbell, Peter Hinwood, and Meat Loaf.

Edward Scissorhands

10/8/2025
Send us a text Katie and Bridget go get their (outside) bushes trimmed as they re-watch the iconic: Edward Scissorhands! It's a story all about an emotastic man/possibly-AI-creation who teaches a small town that disabilities are not roadblocks but rather obstacles to overcome... Or according to Tim Burton, they actually will always lead to DEATH and SADNESS. THANKS TIM! Come along as we meet Edward Scissorhands - he's the guy with the scissorhands, in case you were confused. When he gets pseudo-adopted by an Avon Saleswoman named Peg, he discovers a world full of horny housewives, possibly hard of hearing dads, and a weird love interest with Peg's daughter Kim. This movie asks the deep questions, such as: Does our society ultimately highlight, exploit, and then vilify those with disabilities? What can we as a culture do to better support individuals with disabilities in the real world/in Tim Burton's world? Would these housewives have been completely different people if they all just had vibrators instead!? All this and more in this very Tim Burton-esq film. Released in 1990, it was directed by Tim Burton and stars Johnny Depp, Winona Ryder, Dianne Wiest, Anthony Michael Hall, Alan Arkin, Kathy Baker, and Conchata Ferrell.

Send us a text Katie and Bridget prepare for vampires - ala Home Alone style - as they re-watch the 80's classic: The Lost Boys! Don't worry, Stand Up Sally will help you learn to say NO to all this nonsense in our social skills video! Come along as we meet brothers Sam and Michael, who are new to the town of Santa Carla, and who rightfully so have lots of questions. When they move in with their kooky grandpa (alongside their mom too - HEY DIANNE WIEST), they quickly discover that the people here are weirddddddd... And possibly blood-suckers! When Michael gets lured in by the gang of teenage, possibly young 20 year old vampires, it's up to Sam to save his brother and kill the undead! We've got sweaty saxophone players, a deep voiced Corey Feldman, and dogs saving the day in this wild 80's ride! 28 Years Later: NOstalgic Happy Hour

9/24/2025
Send us a text Katie and Bridget try to look away from the Alpha Zombies running (if you know, you know), as they re-watch this month's NOstalgic Happy Hour: 28 Years Later! We've finally made it to the third movie of the 28 Days Later franchise and spoiler alert - THERE'S STILL LOTS OF ZOMBIES GOOD GOD! Come along as we meet Spike, a 12 year old boy who lives in a cute coastal town in Scotland with his parents. When his dad takes him to the mainland for some good old manly zombie hunting, he discovers that there's a doctor living there just lighting fires nonstop. Not sure how we didn't see that from our town, but fine! When Spike's dad refuses to get help from the doctor for Spike's mom, who's clearly dying, Spike threatens to shank him, distracts the entire village all at once, and sneaks mom out onto the mainland to get her some help. It JUST. MAKES. SENSE. GUYS! This movie asks the deep questions such as: Why are there different breeds of zombies now? Whatever happened to the immunity subplot people could have to zombies that was talked about in the 2nd movie? How magical IS the placenta!? All that and more in this beautiful movie to look at, though you might question if you were roofied or not while watching it. Released in 2025, it stars Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ralph Fiennes, Alfie Williams, and special guest appearance in a Juicy Couture tracksuit: Jack O'Connell.

28 Weeks Later

9/17/2025
Send us a text Katie and Bridget refuse to get on the train to the quarantined zombie land as they re-watch the 2nd installment in the series: 28 Weeks Later! We're back in London where apparently all the zombies have starved out and now the AMERICAN ARMY has come in to take over because that JUST. MAKES. SENSE!(?!) But unfortunately our beloved characters from the 1st movie are nowhere to be seen. Instead we've got siblings Andy and Tammy who are being reunited with their Dad, who shall be known as "Fucking-Don". When they find their Mom alive and well after their Dad gaslighted them into thinking he didn't leave her for dead, chaos ensues and yet another god damn zombie apocalypse commences. Although this time we at least have Jeremy Renner and Idris Elba to look at throughout it, so that's cool. We've got loads of questions, unlikeable/unknown characters, and little to no fun ethical conversations in this sequel to 28 Days Later, which doesn't really compare in the slightest. Released in 2007, it stars Jeremy Renner, Rose Byrne, Robert Carlyle, Harold Perrineau, Catherine McCormack, Idris Elba, Imogen Poots, and Mackintosh Muggleton.

9/10/2025
Send us a text Katie and Bridget (she's back!) run up a flight of stairs fueled by only Pepsi and Twinkies as they re-watch: 28 Days Later! It's a movie all about how if the world erupts into a zombie apocalypse because of a PETA-esq heist (guys this could actually happen, so listen up!), then we all need to find our people and stay away from creepy military wanna-bees! Help! Come along as we meet Jim, a man who wakes up alone in a hospital and discovers that zombies (that we never call zombies but are definitely zombies) have taken over London and now it's a fight to survive. When he meets up with Selena, a bad ass who will kill you if you start to rage, they set out to meet more people and try to find a sanctuary. This movie asks the deep questions, such as: Is it better to die by your own choice or risk becoming a rage zombie? Should we all invest in Twinkies and crank radios now - just in case? Would the zombies have all been cured if we only got them high off weed!? All these and more in this low budget, surprisingly fun zombie movie. Released in 2002, it stars Cillian Murphy, Naomie Harris, Christopher Eccleston, Brendan Gleeson, and Megan Burns.
