296 - Portsmouth & Out of Contract Players

4/29/2024
The last episode of the regular season of the Stacey West podcast, but the ushering in of a new era as we start to record live. Sadly, the play-offs were denied at the final hurdle but there's plenty to discuss. We're going back over the game, and looking ahead to the retained list. Who would you keep? Gary identifies a loan player who could have an impact next season, and we're even talking food. Obviously. This Podcast has been created and uploaded by Gary Hutchinson of the Stacey West Podcast. 295 - Investment, Portsmouth, and a Competition!

4/25/2024
Well this has been a hell of a season, hasn't it?! With the final game of the regular season looming, and the champions coming to town, the Imps have something riding on it, and we couldn't be more nervous about it. Not that you'd know it, as we try and quash those fears with a bumper edition of the podcast this week! Before we get into the on pitch stuff though, we talk all about the new substantial investment in the club from Ron and Andrew Fowler, ponder who could be making a return based on Skubala's press conference, and get frustrated with takeaway delivery companies. It is the Stacey West, after all. Once all that's said and done, we get to the nitty gritty. Portsmouth at home is going to be enormous, we all know it, and we'll hopefully give you some well justified hope and belief going into it, as the Imps look to cement their spot in the League One Playoffs. Four teams going in, two will make the cut. There's also an opportunity to claim a pair of tickets for the game if you've not already got your hands on any yet! Give it a listen to find out how, and if your luck's in, be around at 8pm(ish) on Friday when we'll pick a winner... As always, get subscribed, follow and tell a mate. Up the Imps. 294 - Cheltenham Town, FA Cup and Analytics

4/21/2024
This week, we're dissecting the 2-1 win at Cheltenham Town, which leaves us in control of our destiny next weekend. We're trying not to look too far ahead, so after 30 minutes of Cheltenham chatter, we're talking about the FA Cup, and a presentation we saw last week by Logan Hughes. We're also talking a little about Gateshead, and the farce that is the National League administration. All this plus Chris's Spaghetti Bolognese, Wroot Rocks and more. 293 - Oxford United, Cheltenham and Play-Off Permutations

4/17/2024
Just when you think it is all over, everything changes. Again. Gary and Charlie are here to talk about the win against Oxford United, which has left us back in the play-off hunt. We look ahead to Cheltenham, and then ahead still toward the final game of the season. Could we do it? This Podcast has been created and uploaded by Gary Hutchinson of the Stacey West Podcast. 292 - Wigan, Oxford and Completing 10km

4/14/2024
It's episode 292 of the Stacey West Podcast, and it's a tough one to record. Defeat against Wigan has brought our long unbeaten run to an end, and left our play-off hopes hanging by a thread. We discuss the key moments, but we do so after collectively completing the Lincoln 10k, a monumental effort by the team and one we're proud of. However, it does mean we're a little low energy. We're looking ahead to Oxford, more in hope than anything, and wondering if the ride really is over for a few months, or if there's one last sting in the tail. 291 - Wigan, Players of the Season, and the 10k is Looming

4/11/2024
It's Thursday, it's the Stacey West Podcast day, you know what to do. This week, we take it a little bit old school as Ben and Gaz talk all things Imps, looking ahead to Saturday's game against Wigan at the Bank. We also discuss the our top picks for possible Players of the Season, discuss a couple of transfer rumours, and look ahead with varying degrees of trepidation to the Lincoln 10k on Sunday! A massive thanks to everyone who's contributed to our phenomenal total, we're absolutely blown away by the support. Of course, there's the typical Stacey West nonsense thrown in for good measure, but you'd expect nothing less at this point, right? 290 - Reading Recap, It's Still In Our Hands!

4/7/2024
It's Sunday, and you know what that means. Time for us to have a look at the 1-1 draw at Reading, pick it apart and discuss the remainder of the season. Did it feel like a loss yesterday? Are the nerves kicking in? It's a question that's posed, and answered. With Oxford winning, it put a bit of doubt in everyone's minds, but we look back at the predictions that were made and realise things might not be as off track as we thought... We also talk about a couple of other bits of news and upcoming stuff at the club - Will Charlie be running the risk of playing darts against the players on Monday? Let's find out! 289 - Carlisle, Reading, Lincoln United and a Bit of Alcide

4/4/2024
It's a bumper episode this week. We're talking Carlisle United (although Gary forgot we'd played until minutes before the pod was recorded). There's a preview of Reading, with Johnny Hunt from Talking Royals on the show. We've got a snippet of the excellent Colin Alcide podcast for you, just to tempt people to listen to that, and we're also looking at Lincoln United's remarkable run in the FA Vase, as they prepare to host Romford in a winner-takes-all game for a place at Wembley. Former Player Special #6 - Colin Alcide

4/3/2024
It's numbered 6, as we have previously spoken to Gavin Gordon, Mark Hone & Roger Holmes. However, this is the third in a new series hosted by Gary and former Lincoln City player Paul De Garis, following on from Matt Carmichael and Simon Yeo. Colin Alcide signed for the Imps in 1995, having to turn professional to do so. He had previously played for Emley (twice) and Altrincham, mainly as a defender. He was signed by John Beck, and pitched straight into a survival battle, which the Imps achieved, The following season the big striker became a key part of Beck's team as they pushed up the table, narrowly missing out on the play-offs, and giving Premier League Southampton a scare in the Coca-Cola Cup. A year later, with Alcide scoring 13 goals, the Imps were promoted to the third tier. Colin left for Hull halfway through the 1998/99 season, having made 140 appearances for City, scoring 31 times. In his later years, he played for Cambridge, York, and Exeter, as well as appearing in Europe for TNS. He even bagged a goal at Anfield for Hull City. 288 - Leyton Orient, Carlisle and Play-Off Belief

3/30/2024
Another week, another win, and Lincoln City have cracked the top six. With six games to go, we're now the side looking most likely to finish in the final play-off place. As you can imagine, this has caused some excitement around the Stacey West Podcast, and you'll be delighted to know we're pushing an hour and ten minutes this week. It's a podcast special, a bonus hot on the heels of Thursday's show. Hopefully, it's worth a listen! Up the Imps! 287 - Orient, Carlisle, and The "Pressiest" Teams

3/28/2024
After a week of no football, the Imps have two games this week, so we're here to take a look at both of them! We take a look at Leyton Orient and briefly discuss Carlisle, before Chris dives deep into a stat-based rabbit hole. We also discuss whether "Pressiest" is a word (According to Chris, it is), get excited at a rare full house at the Bank, and discuss Ben House's return to the squad. As always, get yourself subscribed! We're not sure if we'll have a Sunday podcast due to it being Easter, but if we do you'll be the first to know about it. Up the Imps! 286 - Loanees, Running And the Run-In!

3/24/2024
With no Imps game to talk about this weekend, we're taking a look at a couple of talking points instead. First up, we take a look at our loanees and give their current situations a once over. Sam Long, Jaden Brown, Ali Smith and more all get a look in here! Next up, we're talking about the big thing. The run-in. We look at Oxford, Stevenage and Blackpool's fixtures, and have a little game of predicting where the four teams will finish! Will the Imps land 6th place according to us? We've tried to be as unbiased as possible, so let's see how we go... Of course, we have the regularly scheduled Stacey West fun and games as well, with the lads giving a brief update on our running progress with only three weeks until the Lincoln 10k... We'll see you Thursday where we'll be previewing the Orient game - Up the Imps! This Podcast has been created and uploaded by Gary Hutchinson of the Stacey West Podcast. 285 - Academy Special! The Past, Present and Future of the Imps' Academy

3/21/2024
It's the international break, which means no game for the Imps this weekend. So instead, we've got something a little different for you! Chris and Charlie sit down to talk about the past, present and future of Lincoln City's Academy! Charlie had the pleasure of discussing things with Jez this week, and he brings some of his newly found knowledge to all of you. Chris recounts some of his time spent in the Academy, before we take a look at some of the players who've come through the system, we look at some of those currently in the mix, and the pathways (had to get it in somewhere) that are offered to the prospects that get snapped up across all age brackets. Of course, there's some typical Stacey West goodness in here as well, as Chris reveals his current accommodation plans for a certain weekend in May... I think it's safe to say we're on board at this point! This Podcast has been created and uploaded by Gary Hutchinson of the Stacey West Podcast. 284 - Bristol Rovers, Goals, Goals and More Goals!

3/17/2024
Not that much to talk about on this St Patrick's Day if you're an imp, is there? Just the 16 goals in three games, another dismantling of a decent side, and within two points of the coveted sixth spot. The freight train that is Lincoln City's current run is at full speed, and we're here to ride it all the way! We are, of course, looking at the game yesterday, taking the positives (and the negative) away from it, and finding it increasingly hard to keep our feet firmly on the ground. You've got a full hour of analysis this week, with there being no game until Good Friday! What a time it is to be a Lincoln City fan. Enjoy it, people. This is special. Up The Imps. 283 - Cambridge, Bristol Rovers, Finances and Perfection?

3/14/2024
Well, that was a fun week, wasn't it? Hot on the heels of the 5-1 away win at Barnsley, we're talking about another six goal thriller against Cambridge, and trying (while not succeeding) to keep our feet firmly on the ground with regard to the P word! We also talk about the international break, the reluctance of those above us in the pyramid to sort out a financial deal, and look ahead to Bristol Rovers. No preview in the podcast this week due to a tight turnaround time, but be sure to check the YouTube channel later this evening when Charlie will be speaking to Matt from the Real EFL to get his take on the game on Saturday. Of course, there's the normal SW nonsense thrown in as well, but all in all, it's a damn good time to be an Lincoln City fan right now. Long may it continue. Up the Imps. 282 - Barnsley, Cambridge and Drunk Presenters

3/10/2024
Gary and Charlie discuss the 5-1 victory at Barnsley. Of course, it's all about the possible play-off push (again) despite last week's knowing denial of our chances. We're breaking down the goals, and looking ahead to Cambridge., Tom, from Under the Abbey Stand, joins Charlie for a chat to chew over that game. Gary is drunk throughout and signing off for a couple of weeks. That means a bit off swearing. This Podcast has been created and uploaded by Gary Hutchinson of the Stacey West Podcast. 3/7/2024
Gary and Charlie are here to talk about the news from the Imps this week! Including yet another season ending injury, giving their opinions on potential Player of the Season winners, and looking ahead to the weekend's fixture at Oakwell! Ben is joined by Carlo from Reds Report, and there's an unusual admission on who's been infiltrating Gary's dreams... It's the Stacey West Podcast, what else do you expect? Up the Imps! 3/3/2024
Gary and Chris sit down to talk about Stevenage. Both are under the weather - but we still plough on to give you 70 minutes of Lincoln City joy. Perhaps, during the first 20 minutes, we're a little bitter. Still, it gets better. No, really, it does. This Podcast has been created and uploaded by Gary Hutchinson of the Stacey West Podcast. 279 - Shrewsbury, Stevenage, and a Midfield Crisis?

2/29/2024
Nine games unbeaten has us in a solid mood to talk about the Imps this week, as we dissect the demolition of Shrewsbury, before looking ahead to Stevenage's visit on Saturday! Charlie is joined by Pat from the Boropod to get their take on things! We also talk about Ethan Hamilton's season ending prematurely, and maybe see some flickers of concern about the midfield for the weekend, after Michael Skubala revealed that another player is a possible doubt for the game... We also go into the usual nonsense and try yet again not to get carried away with our late-stage playoff push... Is it happening? 278 - Port Vale, Shrewsbury and Who Do We Hate More: Grimsby or Forest Green?

2/25/2024
It's that time again, when the Stacey West team talk about a game they saw. Or, in Gary's case this week, barely saw, despite being there. We're looking at Port Vale, and of course, picking at that little play-off thread once again. Then, because the game was a little bit tedious, we're off on a tangent, asking who we hate more; Forest Green or Grimsby. Then we're on the Golden Share, national news this week, before finishing on Shrewsbury, and how it's a winnable game that could bring us to within six points of Oxford United. Six points......
