I caught up with Samory I the morning after his Album Release party for "Strength." 7 Years after our first interview and months before the release of Black Gold, a lot has changed in Samory's life. From his experience in the creation of Rory Stonelove's Black Gold, to his Collaboration with Winta James on the production of his new album Strength. I would say Samory I has evolved from a reggae singer to an artist and that his new Album should be a strong contender for next year's Grammys. The Hempire Strikes Back is one of those episodes that aged really well (which I can't say for all of my early episodes) with great artists, great music and running close to and hour and a half, it should keep you busy until tomorrow's episode! Season 11 airs in 1 day and is packed with great music, including a good taste of the Newly Released, Ziggy Stardub, a reggae reimagining of David Bowie’s The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, and features guest performances by Maxi Priest, Steel Pulse, Fishbone, Alex Lifeson (Rush), Vernon Reid (Living Colour), The Skints, Mortimer, The Expanders, Samory I, and many others.
