08. Planning 101: Wedding planner vs stylist vs coordinator and getting creative with your wedding style

10/26/2020
In today’s episode we will open your eyes up to the many creative ways that you can enhance and add to your wedding style. We will also help you understand the difference between a wedding planner, stylist and coordinator, what each of their roles are and whether or not you would like to invest in any of their services. In this episode I share: This episode's “Quick Tip” is - to Ditch Traditions! The key to creating an authentic and personalised wedding is to simply do things your way from beginning to end. While some wedding traditions can be sweet and sentimental, others might not fit your style. Instead of feeling pressured by what a traditional wedding “should” look like, draw inspiration from your own personality and relationship. This will ensure the end result is a celebration that feels unique, genuine and completely personal to you and your partner. Let’s be honest; with so many weddings to attend, your guests will definitely appreciate something a little different! If you enjoyed this episode and the Your Day, Your Way podcast, I have a favour. 07. Planning 101: Suppliers to lock in first and tips for choosing your suppliers

10/19/2020
In today’s episode we will help you know which suppliers are the most important to lock in first, as some services book up months and sometimes years in advance. I will also run you through my tips for choosing your suppliers and help you feel more confident in knowing you're choosing the right ones for you. In this episode I share: This episode's “Quick Tip” is - choosing good suppliers that get your vision and will go above and beyond to make your vision come to life is key. You need to feel comfortable with them and build a relationship with them, then everyone is invested and the results will be truly amazing! Where possible, choose suppliers that have worked together before. For example, having a photographer and videographer that know each other and know how each other likes to work makes for much better results. Creatives bounce off each other, so if you are putting two together that don’t know each other from a bar of soap, then it’s going to be pretty hard for them to find a good vibe within the space of a few hours - what’s worse is if they do know each other but don’t work well together. It pays to ask your suppliers who they recommend also, especially if you are set on booking them in. If you enjoyed this episode and the Your Day, Your Way podcast, I have a favour. 06. Planning 101: Nailing your wedding planning timeline

10/12/2020
In today’s episode we will show you what to do and when, in terms of planning your wedding and following a timeline. It can be quite overwhelming to know what needs to be done first, how far out things need to be booked in and what to concentrate on month by month in the lead up to your big day, so let me guide you through this process. This timeline will help get things done in a timely and stress free manner. In this episode I share: This episode's “Quick Tip” is - Try and get as much stuff done early, especially anything DIY, even if they are small jobs, as in that final week or two, time is not a luxury you have. The more you can get completed early, the less chance there is of you forgetting things and it will allow you more time for any last minute changes or oversights. So in other words, don’t wait or put things off, if they can get done now, then get them done and tick them off the list...trust me, your future self will thank you for it! If you enjoyed this episode and the Your Day, Your Way podcast, I have a favour. Please take a minute to subscribe, and to leave a rating and a review. 05. Planning 101: Pros and cons of a wedding venue vs a blank canvas space or property

10/5/2020
In today’s episode I’m going to give you the low down on traditional wedding venues vs naked spaces or private properties and how each brings a unique set of plusses and minuses. By the end of this episode, you will have a good overview of these 3 options and it will help you and your partner decide which avenue you want to go down. In this episode I share: This episode's “Quick Tip” is - if you are creative, resourceful and love the idea of doing a bit of DIY, then a private property or naked space wedding is a great way for you to be able to put your personal stamp on the day. Don’t be deterred by the hard work that is involved, as the planning process is a fun one, especially if you love organising and getting your hands dirty. I certainly loved the entire process and I would honestly do it again in a heartbeat. Also remember that you always have the option to hire a Wedding Planner or Stylist to help you pull everything together, so if you still want to go down this route, but you don’t want to organise everything yourself, then look to hire a professional. I certainly love doing this job for my clients, it really is the work that sets my soul on fire! If you enjoyed this episode and the Your Day, Your Way podcast, I have a favour. 04. Planning 101: Wedding budget basics and how to stick to one

9/28/2020
In today’s episode I’m going to walk you through some wedding budget basics to help you and your partner come up with a figure that you are both not only happy with, but are also comfortable with. We will talk about the average cost of an Australian wedding, tips on how to reduce your costs and what your top 3 wedding costs are likely to be. In this episode I share: This episode's “Quick Tip” is - if you know you're saving less than you planned to, or are spending more than you can afford, please don't bury your head in the sand. If you keep tabs on your saving and spending throughout, you can make adjustments as you go, before you get too far in. So many couples don’t do this, then they start to panic six weeks before their wedding, as they realise they're in way over their heads. 03. Planning 101: Wedding theme vs style and creating your mood board

9/21/2020
In today’s episode I’m going to explain the difference between your wedding theme and wedding style, as this can be a bit confusing. We will then go through how to decide on your wedding theme and have some fun creating one of your most useful tools - which is your wedding mood board. In this episode I share: This episode's “Quick Tip” is - every time you need to make a decision regarding the look and feel of your wedding day, be sure not to make this call until you have referenced your mood board and checked that it is in line with your overall wedding theme and style. This is vital in order to create a day that makes sense, that flows cohesively and is consistent from start to finish. SHARING YOUR MOOD BOARDS I would love it if after creating your mood boards, you would share photos of them on socials, either via your stories tagging @paradisehunter or send them to me as a DM if you are wanting to keep things under wraps...it would be so awesome to see the progress you have made and your chosen wedding themes, styles and vibe. 02. Planning 101: Getting clear on your non negotiables and your wedding vision

9/21/2020
In today’s episode, I’m going to help you get really clear on your wedding non negotiables, so the elements that you and your partner want to make your priorities. This will involve a lot of discussion and a process of elimination. We will also be looking at your overall wedding vision, explaining what this is and making sure both you and your partner are on the same page. In this episode I share: This episode's “Quick Tip” is - once you and your partner are clear on your non negotiables and your overall wedding vision, don’t stray from this. Always keep them at the front of your mind in EVERYTHING you decide. Continue to refer back to your “one sentence” that describes the overall vision and experience you are wanting to create and continually ask yourself the question - “Will this choice help us create the wedding we imagined?” Write them on a sticky note and put them at the front of your wedding planner as a good reminder, something to always reference throughout. 01. Planning 101: Start your wedding planning by answering these 6 questions

9/21/2020
Season one is the Planning 101 season and it’s all about planning your ultimate wedding day from scratch! Wondering where the hell you should start when planning your big day? In this episode, we will answer this question and so much more. In this episode I share: This episode's “Quick Tip” is to remember to forget about everyone else and do what you want to do! If no one was there, if certain people didn’t show up or if it wasn’t going to get shown on Instagram, would you still be doing certain things? Continue to ask yourself this question throughout your planning and I assure you, it will help you make decisions on everything. It will also make sure you are not just including certain elements for the sake of including them, but that each part means something to you both. At the end of the day, your wedding is a reflection of you as a couple...if something holds no meaning to either of you, don’t include it, this will make for a much more meaningful day, full of the things that you love and care about.
