I loved answering your questions so we can find the Gift in the Sh*tshow! First I shared about finding harmony in conflict: In relationships, conflict and stark polarities can often seem overwhelming. You asked, how can couples find the 'gifts' hidden within these tense moments? Can you share examples of how embracing conflict can lead to deeper understanding and intimacy? I spoke of clients caught in a cycle of him being frustrated and she shutting down… AND how to pattern interrupt and see the ‘enemy' not as each other, but the cycle they were caught in. Conflict is showing us where we can’t be in allowance, where we’re still defending a position, where we need to be right, in control etc. vs curious, accepting, how can my life be even better with this perspective or point of view ~~ Then I shared about balancing emotional extremes: Relationships often expose us to the extremes of our emotions. You asked, what advice do you have for couples to help them navigate these highs and lows without losing their connection or sense of self? How can they use these emotional swings to strengthen their bond rather than weaken it? Huge emotional swings don’t strengthen a bond, they wear on it… yet watching a partner take ownership builds respect, trust. Thus when our partner is in an emotional high or low, let them know you love then and are going to pattern interrupt by giving them space vs trying to fix or change them. I spoke of two clients who took full ownership for what was occurring within them and did the inner work to integrate it in private calls, group calls and immersive psychedelic integrative VIPs. ~~ Lastly I shared about how to transform a relationship crises: Many couples face crises that seem like they could end the relationship, yet these moments sometimes lead to profound growth and renewed commitment. You asked, what practices can partners adopt to remain open to transformation and discovery, especially when they feel most divided? In this solo episode regarding sitting in the fire and feeling all the feels, I enjoyed answering your spot-on questions. Q1: Allana, why do people bypass, it totally annoys me when they pretend they're over it, but clearly they're not. A: Yes, I call it sprinkles on top of the ice cream cone of shit. I agree that it's highly annoying and yet underneath it all, they are terrified, so have compassion whether it's somebody else or you who is doing the bypassing. The reason I mentioned you might be bypassing too, is that people tend to annoy me when they show me what I have NOT processed yet. When they show me what I HAVE processed, I feel compassion. Most of the time I'm humbled and have more work to do :-) Q2: How do I know if I'm truly feeling or not, feeling it ALL or not, getting to the raw depth of the true emotion? A: I have this beautiful, completely committed, shows up and does the work client who was confident she was in her body, yet she was not. She was in her head doing her best to figure it out, understand, justify, occasionally get defensive or blame in validated frustration. She really was trying so hard! Yes that's the word… trying…… she wasn't surrendering come as she still wanted to be in control. Her ego wanted to be right. It was only after she and I did a VIP where she bravely felt past where she normally disassociates that she came home. And she was One with All. And it was exquisite. Q3: How can feeling through the pain of heartbreak actually catapult my growth? It just feels like torture, what's the point of that? A: Every single time for the past 20 to 25 years when a client authentically feels an emotion without trying to fix it or push it away, and they just allow the body and spirit to support their integration, they don't just eliminate the pain, they become powerful. They don't just eliminate the shame, they become unapologetic. They don't just eliminate the betrayal, they become the embodiment of forgiveness. They don't just eliminate fear, they become peace itself. It's only torture because you're resisting the feeling. In this episode I share the evolution of ‘Surrender’ in my life… what I thought it meant… what it REALLY means… and that I’m still a work in progress. Surrender to me is about letting go and letting God, the Divine, the Great One, the Universe handle the details. The trick is doing this while simultaneously completely showing up as an empowered, sovereign and unattached being. It’s about letting the Divine handle the details, knowing I can’t mess it up, being unwilling to waste my energy resisting, controlling or judging myself. It’s a way of being in allowance of all, softening my preferences, opening to a grander plan I may not understand. Some days it’s really hard to BE this. Other days I’m completely Home. In this solo episode I also discussed… -How I initially thought surrender meant I was giving up, letting go of my dreams. Or I'd sugarcoat my feelings saying ‘I surrender, everything is love and light happening' for a reason’ but really I was just being a coward unwilling to take ownership, grow up and show up. -How then I thought surrender was letting go of people pleasing, looking good, doing it right or give a shit what other people thought, surrendering my whining that everything needed to be fair, surrendered being a victim or martyr and learning to speak up, speak truth and clean up my messes. -How surrendering being a victim inflated my ego a bit, thinking I was more powerful than the divine, that I could create anything, that I ‘got this'. -How Life wanted me to know what surrender was REALLY and brought me to my knees… choosing to surrender everything... my businesses, money, son, cat, any chance at meeting my beloved or experiencing greater impact or success. I even surrendered my life. -How I’ve tasted even beyond surrender, where you don't even need to surrender to divine will... You’re already there. There is no separation. You just are. Total alignment with your hips and your heart and your divine mind. You just keep putting one foot in front of the other without thinking. I remember back when I chose to date more consciously, I would rather date a man who had fallen down and gotten back up again then a man who had success but I never knew who he was when the chips were down.
