Rev. Bill Marchiony, DD is an ordained Minister of Religious Science, Spiritual Director of New Thought Philadelphia, and author of “Practical Prayer for Real Results”. He has been studying and teaching these powerful principles since the 1990s. Before that, he was a zany morning radio air personality, which makes this podcast fun to listen to.
Carol L Lawrence is an author, Spiritual Life Consultant, inspirational speaker who has spent 30+ years in church leadership, spirituality and biblical studies, and seminary education. Having pastored churches across denominations and racial diversity has given her a respect for a broad and inclusive theological perspective. She’s also the host of the “Jazz Divine” podcast, a unique worship/meditation experience with Smooth Jazz.
Together, this unlikely duo explores the transformation that is possible when these powerful New Thought teachings are added to a more traditional religious framework.

Manifesting

A recent Opinion piece in the NY Times described the current trend in "manifesting" as part of New Thought. Rev. Bill, in a posture of righteous indignation, points out that it's not, and why not. Carol observes that "manifesting" is an inch deep and a mile wide, whereas New Thought has great spiritual depth.

Overcoming Doubt

Carol's experience with "traditional" prayer was that God could answer Yes, No, or Maybe. She always found it troublesome because it starts a prayer with doubt about its effectiveness. Rev. Bill describes how the doubt we find in our own consciousness is actually a powerful diagnostic resource to help us understand our beliefs, and what to change to get a new result.

Realization

The One

She does a lot of different sorts of creative work, and every time she wants to get into the head space of other creators she realizes that they are ALL channeling the same creative force - the One. Carol found that, in her years on the traditional pulpit, people wanted their life to suddenly and miraculously be transformed when the calendar rolls over. Rev.
