Based on The Movie Draft tm, invented by my parents Sean and Amanda from The Big Picture podcast, Rhiannon and Margaret each pick 5 characters from the show Glee to be on their teams which will then fight to the death. Previously known as the Falcon, Sam Wilson joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a side character before gaining the shield and leading his own Marvel TV show. We discuss Sam’s honourable morals, fun quips and comic book character arcs. Rhiannon makes the bold claim he’s the best character in the MCU whilst Margaret attempts to write Zemo’s return in Captain America New World Order. Enjoy!

this week we are discussing Wanda Maximoff aka the Scarlett Witch aka MOTHER. Wanda is a mutant from the Marvel comics who is currently carrying phase 4 of the MCU on her stunning shoulders. She has a complicated history of how she's been portrayed in the past; she's been a villain, a hero, an avenger, a member of the x-men, someone with a loving family, someone with the most tragic backstory possible, a telepath, a telekinetic and whatever a probability hex is. We take into account all the different lives she's lived and attempt to decipher who Wanda really is at her core and how her portrayals in the MCU reflect that.

In anticipation of Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantomania, we decided to cover the characters from the Ant-Man movies. We’re back! And to start off the new year we gave ourselves a gift and took an episode to talk about how much we love Benoit Blanc from the Knives Out movies. Benoit is a detective who was born from a collision between Rian Johnson’s goofy sense of humour and Daniel Craig’s desire to do the weirdest accent humanly possible. The result is a loveable genius and a queer fashion icon that captured the hearts of millions by solving murder mysteries and empowering the women he meets along the way. We take a look at his role in the movies while also trying to decipher his possible backstory. We also have a lot of fun casting and storyboarding our pitch for the third knives out movie- so Rian, if you're out there, feel free to take some notes

Margaret takes over the podcast once again to talk about Tsukkishima Kei from the anime (and manga) series, Haikyuu! Tsukki is a teenager from Japan who dedicates much of his time to playing volleyball in Karasuno volleyball club… despite not really liking volleyball. In a story filled with characters that exude positivity and pure passion for vollyeball, Tsukki stands out as an arrogant, smug little shit who seems to have beef with everyone around him. So, this episode we attempt to answer lingering questions like: what’s this guy’s deal? Why is he even here if he doesn't like volleyball? And does he have a tragic backstory to explain all of his? Of course he does

This week Rhiannon has graciously allowed Margaret to talk about her one of her favourite series, the absolute pinnacle of human achievement: Haikyuu! More specifically, Hinata Shoyo, who is the main character from the anime/manga series Haikyuu! Hinata is teenager from Japan who is obsessed with volleyball, and despite his short stature, he dreams of one day playing in Japan's national volleyball tournament. We explore how this little fireball of energy and optimism learns what it really means to be a great volleyball player as he evolves beyond his very potential. We also discuss the many other characters that help Hinata grow; friends, enemies and soulmates, whom Margaret attempts to describe to Rhiannon using Taylor Swift lyrics
