Willy Wonka: Just Because The Candyman Can, Doesn't Mean He Should (with Two Asian Blokes!)

8/29/2023
Come with me, and you'll be, in a whole of chaotic conversation. Danh and Thavy have once again graced us with their God-like presence and with them they have brought the spirit of Willy Wonka himself! Together the four of us discuss the characterisation and general madness of the original Roald Dahl book Wonka, Wilder's 1971 Wonka, Depp's 2005 Wonka and the future Chalamet 2023 Wonka!! We fawn over the filmmaking of the original movie, become thoroughly educated by Rhiannon on why we should give the 2005 version a chance and come to the very intellectual conclusion that just because the candyman can, doesn't mean he should.

The Glee Character Draft: Who Would Win in a Fight?

8/17/2023
Do you ever lie awake at night wondering which characters from the hit musical television show Glee would win in a 'fight to the death' scenario? Well do I have the episode for you. Based on The Movie Draft tm, invented by my parents Sean and Amanda from The Big Picture podcast, Rhiannon and Margaret each pick 5 characters from the show Glee to be on their teams which will then fight to the death. They must both justify why their picks are incredibly skilled fighters, leaders or just filthy rich and why they would therefore make up an unstoppable team. Who will take obvious picks like Sue Sylvester and Sebastian Smyth first? and how obscure are these idiots willing to go to prove their embarrassingly extensive knowledge of the show?

As we all recover from the finale of succession, come and take a seat with us as we chat about BOTH Romulus and Connor Roy, Logan Roy's eldest and youngest sons. Roman spends his life pushing everyone away and avoiding any intimacy and human connection like a ninja while deep down being desperate for love and attention. While Connor on the other hand, gave up seeking affection a long time ago, and instead learned to live without it by surrounding himself with superficial substitutes... like running for president for some reason. what a normal group of people

Benoit Blanc: The World’s Most Fashionable Detective

1/24/2023
We’re back! And to start off the new year we gave ourselves a gift and took an episode to talk about how much we love Benoit Blanc from the Knives Out movies. Benoit is a detective who was born from a collision between Rian Johnson’s goofy sense of humour and Daniel Craig’s desire to do the weirdest accent humanly possible. The result is a loveable genius and a queer fashion icon that captured the hearts of millions by solving murder mysteries and empowering the women he meets along the way. We take a look at his role in the movies while also trying to decipher his possible backstory. We also have a lot of fun casting and storyboarding our pitch for the third knives out movie- so Rian, if you're out there, feel free to take some notes

So, this episode we attempt to answer lingering questions like: what’s this guy’s deal? Why is he even here if he doesn't like volleyball? And does he have a tragic backstory to explain all of his? Of course he does
