Episode 25 - Dr. Nobody's Sister Tells Her Emotional Nobody Story

4/1/2024
For a long time, even in season 1, I wanted to bring on a family member. Some have declined, some are still thinking about it ( 3 years later) and some, well my sister, have been wanting to be on since day 1. But I wanted to wait until she was older but more importantly in a better place. The pandemic changed everyone's lives but something that people don't talk about was how it affected our mental health. And when you lose someone like a parent right before which upends everything about you and your life, how does any expect you to cope when you are isolated? Well, this is my sister's story. She has been brave enough to tell her emotional and very personal story that starts at the age of 4 with the passing of our father, to 13 when our mom passed, to now, finishing high school and ready for life. This strong and powerful woman I've known and considered my daughter more than a sister has gone through more than most people have gone through in a lifetime. But her sheer determination, her power, and her will to not let these things define her life but empower it, and her incredible walk in her faith in God, has led her to happiness and an extremely bright future. This is Natasha's story of a Nobody. Support the show

Have you ever had a friend you have known for a long time but never sat down to ask about their life? Like really detailed parts of their life. Episode 20 - The Dream of Entrepreneurship

6/1/2022
Some of us, not many, have a specific goal in mind and already know what we want to do to accomplish it. For example, I knew I wanted to do science since I was young. This, in turn, helped me set up my entire journey to get to a career I enjoy. In this season's last interview, we had the opportunity to talk to Dr. Scott Kachlany about his career journey and his amazing accomplishments including having his own Biotech Company, Actinobac Biomed. Like me, he had his journey thought out. Of course, even knowing what you want to do from the start, doesn't mean it won't come with its unique problems. Tune in to our last interview episode to find out how Scott overcame! Support the show

Episode 19 - The Duality of a Student

5/25/2022
We go through our lives focused on the task at hand such as school, career, family, etc... that we forget ourselves. Sometimes, we need to enjoy things in life. Some like to go on vacation and others like to build things with their hands. Personally, I enjoy gaming. I have heard many times it is a waste of time and things like that but to me, it helps me escape and is my personal therapy. This week, we have a special episode with 2 guests, Amy and Toria. Both eSport players and students at Kean University. I had the opportunity to talk to them about their life as a student and video gamers. Tune in to learn more about working hard but still enjoying hobbies! Support the show

Episode 18 - Politics and Faith

5/18/2022
In our lives, we have different driving forces that help us get through things such as jobs, family, traumas, and just in general life. In my life, it was my faith. Not all of us are born religious, some of us embrace it later in life. In this week's episode, my guest Scott Garret discusses his faith and how it grew over the years. We also learn how his political career and faith intertwined. One of the important lessons we learn is how he was able to stand strong in his faith despite many obstacles and even share it with many others in a world where many think faith is minimized or doesn't even exist. Episode 17 - Climbing to the Top

5/9/2022
In last week's episode, we discovered the Art of Leadership. In most cases, leadership skills are part of an essential toolkit needed to get to the top. And when I mean top, I mean the big boss. Sometimes it's by total chance that you get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to manage a company. Other times it is your hard work and aspirations that someone notices and believes you... are the one. In this week's episode, it is the latter case. Jesse Kates is a managing director at Neon and he shares with us his unique journey from being a copywriter to managing an agency with his partner, Mardene Miller. I can assure you, that this one is loaded with funny stories, good laughs, and most importantly essential lessons so that you and I can take our career to the next level. Support the show

Episode 16 - To Be A Leader

5/4/2022
We have them, we get annoyed at them, and sometimes we aspire to become them. I'm talking about leaders. A lot of us are better at taking directions from others but a small few of us want to become them. How do we get there? What do we need to do to prepare our path to becoming a leader? In this week's episode, we look at Dr. Fabrizio's life from his humble beginnings on Long Island to running an entire Medical Department at Marketing and Advertising Agency. He shows us what it takes to become a leader. But not just a regular run-of-the-mill type of leader, someone who others can follow, seek proper mentorship, and most importantly, someone who takes you to the next level! Support the show

Episode 15 - The Art of Mentorship

4/27/2022
A reoccurring theme throughout this podcast so far is the importance of mentorship. A lot of what we achieve can be attributed to the amazing mentorship of people in our lives. In this episode, we learn it's not just mentorship as we think of it but the relationship you form, and this week's Guest, Seth, explains that to us. Mentorships can go beyond the topic, it can be personal, supportive, and sometimes emotional. Most people overlook the possibility of mentorships because of ego but looking at many successful people, they always have that 1 person that has totally changed their lives. Listen in and learn about how mentorship goes in both directions. Support the show

Episode 13 - Perseverance Through Adversity

4/13/2022
Have you been told "No" for things you wanted? What about things that you need? Did you try going to another person or place to ask for that thing you need? Well in this week's episode, Dr. Andujar indulges us on how only through perseverance can you accomplish your dreams and succeed. Many of us, including me, have trouble figuring out how to overcome the "NO" in our lives. Getting to the You that you want to be needs perseverance sprinkled on it. Sometimes, with a push and definitely becoming a bit annoying, you can get what you need, if it is reasonable of course. Support the show

Episode 12 - The Essential of Programs

4/5/2022
In life, we have many opportunities or as I would like to call them, "gifts". Some come to us through people we know or by chance and some we have to actively look for. Either way, Programs are and will become an essential part of your career. In this week's episode, we talk to Wendy about Programs, specifically, one that she leads and is very close to her heart, The Ronald E. McNair program. I personally can attest that if it wasn't for this program, I would not be where I am today. You never know what "gift" will change your life, I know it did for me. Support the show

Episode 11 - Capitalization On Opportunities

3/30/2022
We are constantly provided gifts throughout our lives. No, I don't mean actual physical gifts like an Amazon gift card or game, but opportunities. These opportunities manifest themselves as a chance to work with the Dean of your university, a paid internship at a prestigious company, or maybe something as simple as getting accepted into a great research program. These are gifts that are presented to us in many ways, shapes, and forms and we should always capitalize on them. You never know what can come out of them in the short term but the implications for the long term. In this episode, I talk about those gifts that I had taken advantage of and how they changed my life several years later. Support the show
