Join Travis Haley with special guest, Chris White, as they reflect on the events that took place 20 years ago in Al-Najaf, Iraq. April 4th, 2024 will mark the 20th Anniversary of the Battle of Al-Najaf, Iraq. It was on that day in 2004 that a small team of coalition forces and Blackwater Contractors faced off against the overwhelming force of the Mahdi Army. In spite of the many obstacles stacked against them, acts of courage, duty, and perseverance enabled the defending coalition and Blackwater Contractors to hold off the Mahdi Army while Blackwater Air Teams provided critical sustainment equipment and life saving evacuation efforts. The Battle of Al-Najaf represents one of the largest insurgent attacks during the Iraq War, we stand together on 4/4 in remembrance of the brave men who selflessly risked everything to save their brothers.

Travis is joined by guest Tyler Grey, former Army Ranger and Tier 1 counter terrorism unit operator turned artist/actor. Travis and Tyler sit down for a chance to discuss Veterans Day, lack of post traumatic stress, and finding purpose in self destruction.

Tyler Vargas-Andrews is a man with an iron will and a heart of gold on an incredible journey. Tyler was critically wounded in a suicide bombing at the Kabul, Afghanistan airport (Hamid Karzai International Airport) on August 26, 2021 where over 200 people and 13 fellow U.S. service members tragically lost their lives. A year later, he shares untold stories of that gruesome, yet beautiful day.

Travis and Rob Young, one of the first school shooting victims of the 1986 Cleveland Elementary School Massacre, dive deep into the ever-tough topic of mass shootings, an occurrence becoming all too common around the world, even more so in the United States. As one of the first school shooting victims, now turned school resource officer (SRO), Rob offers his unique perspective and insight on the deep-rooted issue. He also proposes pathways and solutions to begin uprooting the problem sooner than later in order to minimize the threat to society that nearly claimed his life over three decades ago. Reflecting back on Jan. 17, 1986, Rob shares his story about the incredible physical and emotional trauma inflicted upon him as the tragic events began to unfold that morning. Travis interviews Former Republican Congressman Matt Salmon about his 2022 campaign for governor and his mission to win the prize that eluded him 20 years ago in one of Arizona’s closest gubernatorial elections. Matt’s running for governor “to ensure that Arizona remains guided by the successful, conservative principles that have made it the greatest place to live, work and raise a family.” Raised in Tempe, Matt attended public schools, graduated from Arizona State University, and later earned a master’s degree from Brigham Young University. After completing his education, he worked as an executive with a major telecommunications firm in Arizona. He later served in both the Arizona Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives where he earned a reputation for standing on principle and challenging the status quo, ultimately becoming a co-founder of the conservative House Freedom Caucus.
