Because Truth Matters, Reality Matters–Hank Hanegraaff on A Commitment to Reality

2/24/2026
Hank Hanegraaff brings an important announcement about a brand-new initiative at the Christian Research Institute: a new podcast titled A Commitment to Reality, hosted by his son, Dave Hanegraaff. This podcast is not only timely but extraordinarily relevant. Why? Because we live in an era of “reality rot.” To paraphrase Blaise Pascal, we live in an age in which truth is so obscure and falsehood so established that, apart from “a commitment to reality,” you simply cannot know it. Our new podcast is a powerful complement to CRI’s other podcasts and publications, extending our ministry and mission to a whole new generation of change agents. Please subscribe to A Commitment to Reality on YouTube for full episodes and clips, and follow wherever you get your podcasts. You can also help spread the word by rating, reviewing, and telling others about A Commitment to Reality. And remember: Because truth matters, reality matters. That’s why we must remain committed to reality.

Hank stresses the importance of fasting, one of the predominant themes of the Great Lent. The stomach is like an undisciplined child, forever demanding its fill of empty calories. The discipline of fasting restores one’s balance and self-control. Hank also answers the following questions: How can I overcome sin through the power of the Spirit according to Ephesians? Jared - Kansas City, KS (6:03) I’ve heard you say the flames of hell aren’t literal, so do you believe the waters of the flood covered the entire earth? Why Reality Matters

2/23/2026
A Commitment to Reality is a podcast for a post-truth—and increasingly post-reality—age. We are living through one of the most disorienting periods in human history—leaving many to wonder: What is reality? As artificial intelligence accelerates and institutional trust erodes, our shared sense of what is real continues to crumble. A commitment to reality is a dedication to discerning what is true and developing the discipline to live in alignment with that truth—with reality. This podcast is an apologetic for reality—each episode serving as an intentional act of grounding our existence together as we commit to what is beautiful, good, and true. Subscribe to A Commitment to Reality on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@ACommitmenttoReality for the full episodes + clips, as well as Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/a-commitment-to-reality/id1876254826 , Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/378rR6Oz8YkbTOIqSfhlV3 and follow wherever you get podcasts. On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast (02/18/26), Hank notes that today is Ash Wednesday, which is the beginning of the forty days of preparation for celebrating the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. During this time, Christians remember our sinfulness, we repent, we ask for God’s forgiveness, and we recognize that God’s forgiveness comes at an infinite price—the death of Jesus Christ on the cross on our behalf. Presidents Day 2026

2/16/2026
On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast (02/16/26), Hank reflects on the words of one of the great presidents of the United States of America, George Washington. Every February we celebrate Presidents Day, a holiday that originated as Washington’s Birthday in 1885. Hank seeks to answer the question, “Why celebrate Presidents Day today—nearly 300 years after Washington’s birth on February 22, 1732?” There are some obvious reasons. Washington was, of course, our first president. He served as commander-in-chief of colonial armies during the American Revolution. He set the standard for all presidents that would follow in his train. He was a man of great personal integrity. He famously established the maxim that liberty is greater than any singular individual. And, Hank’s favorite reason for celebrating this holiday, he is eminently quotable. “It is better to live alone than in bad company.” “Be courteous to all, but intimate with few, and let those few be well tried before you give them your confidence.” “All I am I owe to my mother. I attribute my success in life to the moral, intellectual, and physical education I received from her.” These quotes from George Washington show that he was a president who knew the Bible, as they all echo what is taught in Holy Scripture.

The Origins of St. Valentine’s Day, and Q&A

2/13/2026
On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast (02/13/26), Hank discusses the origins of Valentine’s Day, looking at the Orthodox Church’s veneration of Saint Valentine, the Presbyter from Rome, for his martyrdom, and, as for all its saints, honors St. Valentine as a model of life in Christ. According to The Oxford Dictionary of the Christian Church, the traditional association of St. Valentine’s Day with courtship is likely connected with certain customs of the pagan festival Lupercalia. If so, this would be another example of Christians usurping a pagan holiday and Christianizing it for the glory of Christ. Hank also answers the following questions: Why didn’t God actualize the angels in righteousness before they fell? Crystal - Kansas City, KS (15:39) Since Paul in 1 Corinthians 1:10 says there should not be divisions amongst believers, what does this say about all the different denominations within the body of Christ today? Jessie - IA (17:09) Could you explain the story of the fish with a coin in its mouth in Matthew 17:24-27? Gus - Oklahoma City, OK (20:06) Would the command to obey the government in Romans chapter 13 apply to Sharia law? Cameron - OK (21:51)
