$10K Months as a Virtual Assistant With Shannon South

4/29/2024
These are two major myths that are often talked about in the entrepreneurial world: Marketing = social media You have to be on social media to get clients. And while I’m usually giving you tips on how to connect with people on social media - today I want to introduce you to a whole other world of possibilities… growing a business without using it. On today’s episode of The Simple Online Business Podcast I'm chatting with my client Shannon, who recently had her first 10k month without building an audience on social media, about her inspiring journey of embracing change and discovering the freedom entrepreneurship brings. We talk about how she got started, the obstacles she’s overcome and the power of coaching and community in business growth. The Coaching That Ended A Client Drought

4/22/2024
Last fall, I had a coaching conversation with my client, Brittany. She had been trying to consistently sign coaching clients for a couple years, but it just wasn’t working. She had an offer, a website, decent social media engagement… and yet it just wasn’t turning into paying clients. Almost immediately on our conversation, I realized the issue. I told her what I saw, and what to do differently. She implemented this advice and started signing lots of clients right away. She’s been consistently signing clients ever since. What I found interesting is that she mentioned to me that she had thought about working with me a couple years before but didn’t - and wished she didn’t wait. On today’s episode, I have Brittany on to talk about our conversation, the advice I gave her, and the decision to invest in coaching with me. This episode is a fun look into what it’s actually like to be my client. This podcast episode will be super inspiring for any business owner. YOU’LL LEARN: Learn About Brittany: Brittany Hagemann is a licensed CA Esthetician turned Esthetician Business Coach. After opening her acne business in San Diego in 2017, she grew it to a six figure business in under two years. She currently helps other esthetician business owners grow their business to six figures and beyond. When she's not working with her clients, she's spending time with her daughter and husband. Job Mentality

2/26/2024
How would you approach your business if it was your job? What would be different? Every single business owner needs to ask themselves these two questions - because when we are making our own schedules and deciding our own workloads it’s really easy to NOT take things as seriously as we would if it was a job. It’s tempting to want to wait until the business is bigger or feels more serious to take it more seriously - but this is actually backwards. We have to take our business seriously before it feels serious. On today’s episode of the Simple Online Business podcast, I’m exploring the concept of "job mentality" in the context of online business success. I’m comparing different work mentalities—hustle, anti-hustle, and flow—and their impact on you as a successful business owner. YOU’LL LEARN: Let’s Connect! HERE

Success/Fail Binary

1/22/2024
Have you ever posted a piece of content and if it doesn't immediately bring in a new client or go viral, you label it a failure? In the entrepreneurial world, it's easy to get caught up in the success-fail binary. This is the idea that every action you take is either a resounding success or a complete failure. I see this happen all the time, especially when it comes to social media marketing. This kind of thinking is not only demoralizing but can also lead to a dangerous cycle of discouragement. Expecting instant results from a single action is a misconception that many business owners give in to. The truth is, success in business is rarely about one-off actions; it's about the cumulative effect of consistently providing value to your audience. Today on the Simple Online Business podcast, I’m talking about this false binary, what’s wrong with it, why we think this way – and most importantly, how to shift your thinking in a way that will fuel you to keep showing up and NOT get discouraged when something you try doesn’t work the way you wanted it to. Coaching Industry

1/15/2024
Last month, I hosted an event specifically for coaches to talk through the challenges and changes in the industry, the outlook for 2024, and how to grow your coaching business in 2024. One of the core messages from the event was the undeniable shift towards relational marketing. In the digital age, it's no longer just about broadcasting your message—it's about creating meaningful connections. As coaches, we must lean into building authentic relationships with our audience. The response was incredible. So many people who came live said that it is exactly what they needed, it calmed them down and made them feel positive about being a coach again… and everyone said that they 100% would need to relisten to it when they were feeling down. Because of this.. I wanted to release it in an easy to consume audio format so you can return to it anytime you need a loving coach slap to help you get inspired about your work. The coaching landscape is changing, but with change comes opportunity. YOU’LL LEARN: Let’s Connect! HERE

How To Achieve Big Goals

1/8/2024
I recently flipped through some old journals from prior times in my business - the one that really caught my attention was a month where I was going after a BIG goal that honestly felt impossible. It was fascinating to look back knowing that I had achieved the goal that month despite having zero belief that I would at the start. Sometimes, our biggest goals can seem delusional. But here's the thing: you need to believe in the possibility of achieving them before anyone else will. Today on the podcast, I’m talking about what it takes to achieve big goals - the importance of mindset and belief - and giving some inspiration to all of you who have set big goals for 2024. EP 261: Why celebration is essential

12/25/2023
Sometimes I don’t think cheerleaders get the credit they deserve… Hear me out on this one. Have you ever thought about the role of a cheerleader at a game? The whole point of the cheerleader is to get the crowd going, right? When they get the crowd cheering and celebrating, the team gets excited. And when they’re excited, it fuels them to perform better. So if cheerleaders are SUCH an important part to the momentum to a game, why do WE as business owners struggle so much with celebration? I've noticed that for many people, including myself, celebrating our achievements can be a challenge. It's all too easy to focus on what didn't go as planned, rather than acknowledging and celebrating our accomplishments. In this episode of the podcast, I want to stress that taking the time to celebrate is not just about feeling good. It's a crucial part of maintaining momentum in your business. We will discuss the importance of celebrating achievements in business. We will also touch on how internal momentum can lead to external success. This episode is all about learning how to feel good about the work you’ve done, you’re doing, and what you will do as a business owner. Get ready to learn how to appreciate YOU better this episode!
