Which Fat is Better for Your Body

Did you know that your body has different forms of fat? And the majority of what most people have can shrink your brain, lead to chronic fatiuge, hormone issues and insulin resistance. Fat overall gets a bad reputation, especially visceral fat that is known to increase the risk for health problems like diabetes and cardiovascular disease. But what if all fat isn’t actually harmful, but beneficial for you? And what if you were able to shrink your "bad" fat and increase more of your "good" fat? Why I Don't Recommend TUMS for Your Gut

How to Food Combine to Balance your Hormones

Did you know that you can balance your hormones by properly combining the foods you put in your mouth? You sure can! By changing the way you eat, you can take control of your hormones. What exactly do I mean? I'm referring to knowing what foods to eat together, better known as food combining. The idea behind food combining is that specific foods pair well together, while others don’t. And when you eat foods that complement each other, it makes digestion easier as well as allowing the nutrients to absorb better too. When our hormones are imbalanced, it often affects the gut and vice versa. Painful Intercourse

If painful intercourse is causing you more pain than pleasure, you're not alone. While it's very common to experience this during menopause, it can also occur in perimenopause. Your body goes through many physical changes during menopause, as well as perimenopause; many of which can have an impact on sexual intercourse. These changes are primarily due to shifting hormone levels, especially a decrease in the amount of estrogen your ovaries produce. But estrogen isn't the only imbalance that your body experiences. The good news is that there are ways to keep enjoying intercourse as your hormones are changing. Once you know why you might be experiencing painful sex, you can explore different treatment options. What's the Difference Between Your Thyroid Medication?

Welcome to Regenerate You™, I’m Dr. Nirvana! If you have hypothyroidism or Hashimioto's, then most likely you've been prescribed thyroid medication. The two commonly prescribed versions most people are given is Armour or NP Thyroid. But what's the difference between the two? Armour Thyroid is the brand name for desiccated thyroid extract, made of dried and powdered thyroid glands, usually from pigs. It contains a mix of both T4 (around 80%) and T3 (around 20%). Natural Solutions and Remedies to PMDD

Welcome to Regenerate You™, I’m Dr. Nirvana! Today I wanted to discuss a health topic that doesn’t get the attention it deserves and that’s PMDD. PMDD, or premenstrual dysphoric disorder, is more than just PMS. Moodiness, anxiety, bloating, crying for no reason, devouring a box of cookies before you even realize it, can be considered somewhat normal symptoms of PMS. But with PMDD, symptoms can cause significant physical and emotional stressors that are debilitating. The symptoms generally appear during the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle and last until the menstrual flow begins which is a long time to be struggling with such intense symptoms which can include: rage, extreme fatigue, brain fog, depression, suicidal thoughts, bouts of extreme sadness and joint or muscle pain to name a few. The conventional PMDD treatment is often a combination of prescription anti-anxiety and depression medications, and, sometimes, birth control pills.
