They recruited Gary Wehrkamp to play additional guitars and keys so they could perform their intricate songs live. Progressive Metal Welcomes Shadow Gallery

Originally calling themselves Sorcerer, a handful of musicians from eastern Pennsylvania played mostly cover songs at local clubs and bars. Then the band morphed into an original progressive metal band with members Mike Baker, Carl Cadden-James, Chris Ingles, and Brendt Allman creating a demo under the name Shadow Gallery. They were the second band signed to Magna Carta Records in 1991.
