This project aims to increase the participation of women in public office by giving young women inspirational role models. Our long-term objective is to increase the exposure of younger generations of women and gender minorities to the possibility of a political career. We believe that images are the most powerful way to convey this opportunity to the teenagers of today who will be tomorrow’s mayors, congresswomen, and presidents.

What If It Was Her?

8/7/2023
It is no secret that society is selective with who and what people can know and remember. With that said, one must critically question why these things are so. Simply, racism, homophobia, misogyny, etc., work to exclude any histories that disturb the binary. Thus, in this episode, we will delve into the hidden life story of Fmr. Representative and Ambassador Shirley Chislom to uncover her contributions in government as well as use this as a sort of catalyst into unmasking more histories that remain hidden. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/powerinplace/message
