Day 42: God uses locusts, painful boils, and darkness against Pharaoh | Jesus' followers fall apart after his arrest

2/11/2026
In Exodus 9-10, Moses warns Pharaoh of God's command to let the Israelites go, but Pharaoh's heart remains hardened. God then unleashes devastating plagues upon Egypt, including a darkness so thick it can be felt, covering the land for three days, while Pharaoh still refuses to yield. As Egypt descends into chaos under the weight of these divine judgments, one must wonder: Will Pharaoh's defiance bring further ruin, or will he finally release the Israelites? In Matthew 26:69-75, Peter finds himself in a courtyard, where he denies knowing Jesus three times, just as Jesus had predicted. Upon hearing the rooster crow, Peter remembers Jesus' words and is overcome with guilt and sorrow for his betrayal. This moment of profound realization leads to the question: How will Peter reconcile his actions with his loyalty and love for Jesus? 2/7/2026
In the climax of Job's story, after enduring immense suffering and loss, Job is confronted by God, who speaks from a whirlwind, questioning Job about the mysteries of the universe and the foundations of the earth. Job humbly acknowledges his limitations and repents, leading to his restoration, with God blessing him even more than before. Will Job's faith and humility before the divine mystery change his fortunes and restore what he lost? In Matthew 25:14-30, Jesus tells the Parable of the Talents, where a man going on a journey entrusts his property to his servants according to their abilities. Upon his return, he rewards those who have invested and multiplied their talents but severely punishes the one who hid his talent out of fear. This parable, followed by teachings on the final judgment and the importance of compassionate action, challenges us to use our gifts wisely and serve others. 1/30/2026
In Job 15-18, Job's friends Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar continue their debate with Job, insisting that his suffering must be a punishment for sin, despite Job's assertions of innocence. Job, in deep anguish, laments his condition and challenges the traditional wisdom that suffering is always a result of personal sin. He struggles to reconcile his understanding of God's justice with his overwhelming experiences of suffering. Can Job maintain his faith in God's justice despite his friends' harsh accusations and his own profound suffering? In this Matthew 20, the mother of James and John asks Jesus to grant her sons a special place in his kingdom, sparking a lesson from Jesus about servanthood and humility. The other disciples are indignant at this request, leading Jesus to teach them that greatness in his kingdom is measured by service, not by status or power. Will Joseph's dreams of greatness still come true despite his brothers' betrayal? In Matthew 13:18-35, Jesus explains the Parable of the Sower, revealing that the seeds represent the Word of God, and the various grounds are types of people who receive it differently. Day 360 | Nehemiah helps the poor | Revelation 18: Destruction of Babylon

12/26/2025
Audio Bible Day 360 of the Holy Bible One Year CHALLENGE. In Nehemiah 5, Nehemiah sees the poor being treated unfairly and helps them by asking the rich to be kind and not overcharge. In Nehemiah 6, people try to scare Nehemiah to stop him from rebuilding Jerusalem's wall. He stays brave, doesn't give in to fear, and finishes the wall. Nehemiah 7:1-3 talks about Nehemiah setting up guards for the city and giving instructions on how to keep the city safe. This teaches us to be fair, brave, and responsible in taking care of what we have worked hard to build. In Revelation 18:1-17, it talks about the fall of a big, rich city called Babylon. An angel announces that Babylon has fallen because it was bad and made others do bad things too. The city was very rich and powerful, but now it's empty and sad. People who did business with Babylon are upset because they can't make money from it anymore. This part of the Bible reminds us that doing wrong things can lead to bad consequences, and that wealth and power don't last forever if they are used in the wrong way. Day 352 | Ezra 4: People oppose the New Temple | Revelation 10: The 1st Terror

12/18/2025
Day 352 of the Holy Bible One Year CHALLENGE. In Ezra 2:68 to 4:1-5, the Israelites return to Jerusalem from exile. When they arrive, some people donate money to rebuild God's temple. However, when they start rebuilding, neighboring people who don't worship God try to stop them. They even write to the king to try to make the Israelites stop working. This shows that even when trying to do something good, there can be challenges and people who try to interfere. In Revelation 9:13 to chapter 10, John sees more visions about the end times. He hears an angel blow a trumpet, and this signals scary things like a big army and harmful plagues. Then, another angel appears with a little book. John is told to eat the book, which tastes sweet but makes his stomach bitter. This part of Revelation shows how God's messages can be good but also hard to accept, and it reminds us that God is in control even when scary or tough things happen. He promises to send a messenger to prepare the way for Him. Then, God Himself will come to judge and purify people. The last chapter gives hope: those who respect God will be blessed, but those who do bad things will face judgment. It ends with a promise to send Elijah before a great and terrible day of the Lord, to turn hearts towards each other and God.In Revelation 7, John sees two groups: First, 144,000 people from Israel's tribes are marked to be protected by God. Day 337 | Angels help Daniel interpret the visions | 1 John 3: Love One Another

12/3/2025
Day 337 of the Holy Bible One Year CHALLENGE. In Daniel 9:20-11:1, Daniel prays to God for his people, confessing their sins and asking for mercy. While he's praying, the angel Gabriel comes to him and explains that God has a special plan for the future. Gabriel talks about a time of great difficulty but promises that God will eventually bring peace and goodness. This passage shows the importance of prayer and God's plan for the future.1 John 3:11-4:6 teaches us about loving one another and knowing who truly follows God. It says that we should love each other because love comes from God. It warns us to not be like Cain, who was evil and hurt his brother. The passage also teaches that we can tell who God's children are by their actions, especially their love for others. It reminds us that God is greater than any evil in the world and that anyone who knows God will listen to His teachings. Day 336 | Daniel prays to the Lord | 1 John 3: We are God's children

12/2/2025
Day 336 of the Holy Bible One Year CHALLENGE. Daniel prays to the Lord. 1 John 3: We are God's children In Daniel 8:15-9:19, Daniel has a vision about a ram and a goat, which he doesn't understand. The angel Gabriel explains that the vision is about future kings and kingdoms. Later, Daniel prays to God, confessing sins and asking for mercy for himself and his people. This shows Daniel's deep concern for his people and his trust in God's forgiveness and guidance. In 1 John 2:28-3:10, it's explained that if we stay connected to Jesus, we'll be confident and unashamed when He returns. It talks about how much God loves us, making us His children, and how this should change us to live righteously. It also distinguishes between God's children and those who follow sin, emphasizing that living in sin is not compatible with following Jesus. This passage encourages us to live as children of God, showing His love and righteousness in our lives. Day 335 | Daniel has visions of fantastic creatures | 1 John 2: Don't follow enemies of Christ

12/1/2025
Day 335 of the Holy Bible One Year CHALLENGE. Daniel 7-8:14 describes two visions Daniel has. In the first, he sees four great beasts representing kingdoms rising from the sea. The fourth beast is terrifying and powerful, with ten horns, and a little horn speaking arrogantly. This represents a kingdom and a boastful king. In the second vision, Daniel sees a ram with two horns, representing the kings of Media and Persia, and a goat with a prominent horn, symbolizing the king of Greece. The horn breaks, and four horns replace it, signifying divided kingdoms. Daniel is troubled by these visions, but they show God's control over history and kingdoms. 1 John 2:12-27 is a message of encouragement and warning. It tells young Christians that their sins are forgiven and they know the Father. It also warns about loving the world too much and reminds them that the world is temporary. The passage speaks against false teachers (antichrists) who deny Jesus is the Christ. It encourages believers to remain faithful to what they were taught and assures them that they have the Holy Spirit (anointing) to guide them in truth. The main message is to stay true to Jesus and His teachings. Day 330 | Daniel is taken to Babylon | 1 Peter 5: Flock of God

11/26/2025
Day 330 of the Holy Bible One Year CHALLENGE. Daniel 1-2:23 tells the story of a young man named Daniel and his friends, who were taken to Babylon when King Nebuchadnezzar conquered Jerusalem. Despite being in a foreign land, Daniel stayed true to his faith, refusing to eat the king's rich food, which went against his beliefs. God blessed Daniel and his friends with wisdom and understanding. Later, King Nebuchadnezzar had a troubling dream that none of his wise men could interpret. Daniel, with God's help, not only recounted the dream but also explained its meaning to the king. This showed that God's wisdom was greater than the wisdom of the world.1 Peter 5 gives advice and encouragement to both church leaders and Christians. It tells elders (church leaders) to care for their members willingly and humbly, not for power or money. Younger people are advised to be humble and respectful to their elders. The passage also encourages everyone to be humble under God’s power, to cast all their worries on Him because He cares for them. It warns to be alert and resist the devil, promising that after suffering for a short time, God will restore and strengthen them. The letter ends with personal remarks and blessings. Day 309 | The Lord shows Ezekiel disgusting things | Hebrews 6: Two things God cannot change

11/5/2025
Day 309 of the Holy Bible One Year CHALLENGE. In Ezekiel 7-9, the prophet Ezekiel relays a series of visions and prophecies about the severe judgment coming to Israel because of its extensive corruption and idolatry. God tells Ezekiel that the end is near for His people in their land because of their abominable deeds. Ezekiel sees a vision of punishment with a sign of impending doom marked on Jerusalem. Then he witnesses six men with deadly weapons and a seventh man with a writing kit sent to the city. The man with the writing kit marks the foreheads of those who grieve over the detestable things done in the city, sparing them from the slaughter, while the others are not so lucky. Ezekiel's vision serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of turning away from God's ways.In Hebrews 6:13-7:10, the author speaks about God's promise to Abraham, emphasizing how God swore by Himself to bless Abraham, ensuring the unchangeability of His purpose with an oath. This offers hope and encouragement to the followers, likened to an anchor for the soul. The passage then transitions to Melchizedek, a mysterious priest-king from Genesis, who met Abraham. Unlike other priests, Melchizedek's priesthood is unique and eternal, not based on hereditary ties. Abraham gave him a tenth of everything, which illustrates the greatness of Melchizedek's priesthood, even greater than that of the descendants of Levi, who also receive tithes from the people according to the law. This comparison sets the stage for the discussion on the priesthood of Jesus, which is in the order of Melchizedek—superior and eternal. Day 308 | Ezekiel acts out God's coming wrath | Hebrews 5: Do not fall away

11/4/2025
Day 308 of the Holy Bible One Year CHALLENGE. Ezekiel 4-6 tells the tale of Ezekiel doing some serious performance art to show Israel's impending doom. He lies on his side for hundreds of days, bakes bread over cow dung, and even shaves his head as a dramatic way to say, "Hey, bad times are coming because of all the bad stuff you've done." The people have been off worshiping idols and forgetting their roots, and now they're going to pay the price. God's pretty upset, to put it mildly, and is ready to hand out some serious divine discipline, like a parent who's found their kid drawing on the walls with permanent marker. In Hebrews 5:11-6:12, the writer is basically saying, “Listen up, I have a lot to say about this Jesus-being-a-high-priest business, but it's tough because you're slow to catch on.” He's nudging the readers to grow up in their faith, move beyond the basic teachings about Christ, and dig into the meatier stuff. There's a bit of a warning too – if you fall away after tasting the good stuff God has offered, it's as hard to come back as it is for a scorched field to be green again. But he's not all doom and gloom; he encourages them to be diligent and not lazy, imitate those who through faith and patience inherited God's promises, like inheriting a family recipe and finally getting it right after lots of practice. Day 307 | Ezekiel sees visions from God | Hebrews 4: Jesus the High Priest

11/3/2025
Day 307 of the Holy Bible One Year CHALLENGE. Ezekiel has this wild vision with super complex and vivid images—a storm, creatures with four faces and wings, wheels within wheels, and above all, a throne with a figure glowing like fire. This figure is the glory of God, and He's commissioning Ezekiel to be a prophet. God warns Ezekiel that he's being sent to the Israelites who are stubborn and rebellious, but he must speak God's words to them anyway, whether they listen or not. God gives Ezekiel a scroll with sad words and tells him to eat it. It's sweet as honey in his mouth. Ezekiel is then filled with the Spirit and told to go speak to Israel.Hebrews 4:14-5:10 serves as a spiritual pep talk about sticking with Jesus because He's not just some high-and-mighty high priest, but one who gets us on every level. He's been through the wringer, too, but never messed up, so we should feel totally cool about being open with God, thanks to Him. Then it shifts to talk about every high priest being picked from among us humans, dealing gently with our mess-ups because they're no strangers to personal weakness themselves. And just like they didn't just waltz into the job, Jesus didn't either—He was chosen by God. His real street cred comes from how He handled suffering, which made Him the perfect leader, forever in the business of bringing us closer to God.
