Open Homes: Rediscovering Biblical Hospitality | The Vision Series

2/20/2026
Welcome to Woody! What would it look like if the church was known not just for open doors — but for open homes? In this message, Stuart unpacks the second part of Woody’s vision: Open Homes. Rooted in John 13 and Romans 12, we’re reminded that biblical hospitality is not about entertaining or impressing — it’s about sacrificial, practical love. Jesus calls us to agape one another: a costly, active love that serves without expecting anything in return. From gathering around meal tables to welcoming strangers, from building deeper relationships to breaking down cultural and generational barriers, this message challenges us to move beyond comfort and into courageous generosity. In a world that feels increasingly isolated and divided, the church is called to model something different — a family marked by warmth, devotion, and love in action.Whether you’re part of Woody or simply exploring faith, this message invites you to consider how God might be calling you to open your home, your table, your time, and your heart. If this message speaks to you, or if you’d like someone to talk to or pray with, we’d love to hear from you.Scripture Focus: John 13; Romans 12; 1 Peter 4:9Speaker: StuartConnect with us:🌐 https://www.woodybap.org.uk/woodybapcardiff📸 https://www.instagram.com/woodybapcardiff📘 https://www.facebook.com/woodybapcardiff

Open Doors | The Vision Series | Acts 2:42-47

2/6/2026
Welcome to Woody! What does it really mean for a church to have open doors? In this timely and challenging message, Annabel unpacks the first part of Woody’s five-year vision, rooted in Jesus’ Great Commission (Matthew 28:19–20) and the call for every believer to partner with God in sharing the good news. Through Scripture, lived experience, and the story of the early church, we’re reminded that church is not a building to guard but a people who carry the presence of God wherever they go. This message challenges us to rethink what it means to welcome others, to speak about Jesus with love and wisdom, and to live with open hearts rather than closed gates. Whether you’re part of Woody or listening from elsewhere, this message invites you to consider how God might be calling you to open doors — in your conversations, your community, and your everyday life. God is waiting for more people to come to know Him, and He invites us to partner with Him in that joyful work. If this message stirs something in you, or if you’d like someone to talk to or pray with, we’d love to hear from you. 2/4/2026
Welcome to Woody! What does a healthy church really look like? Is it a building, an event, or something much deeper? In this final message from the Book of Daniel, Pastor Josh walks us through Daniel chapter 12 — a chapter written for times like ours. An Invitation to Fast and Pray | Daniel 10

1/8/2026
Welcome to Woody! As a new year begins, many of us carry questions, weariness, or a sense that something in our spiritual life feels cold or dry. In this timely and challenging message from Daniel chapter 10, Stu invites us to look beneath the surface of the world we see and recognise the reality of the spiritual battle taking place around us.Through Daniel’s experience of prayer and fasting, we’re reminded that God hears our prayers from the very first day — even when the answer seems delayed. This sermon explores the power of spiritual disciplines, the unseen work of God in response to prayer, and the way God’s presence reassures, strengthens, and lifts us up when we feel weak.As we step into a new year, this message issues a clear call to action: a challenge to commit to a regular rhythm of prayer and fasting as a spiritual discipline. Whether through fasting food or other distractions, we’re encouraged to humble ourselves before God, seek renewal in our “secret place,” and ask Him to warm what has grown cold — in our own lives and in our church. If this message speaks to you, or if you’d like someone to talk to or pray with, we’d love to hear from you.Speaker: Stu (Woody Leadership Team)Connect with us:🌐 https://www.woodybap.org.uk/woodybapcardiff📸 https://www.instagram.com/woodybapcardiff📘 https://www.facebook.com/woodybapcardiff

Kingdom. Power. Glory. | The Lord's Prayer | Part 5

11/19/2025
Welcome to Woody! This week, Pastor Josh brings us the final message in our series on the Lord’s Prayer. Together we explore the closing words: “For yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.”Through a brilliant mix of storytelling, humour, and heartfelt challenge, Pastor Josh helps us understand what it truly means for God to be our King—every day, not just on Sundays. We’re invited to see God’s kingdom as something that shapes our daily decisions, to rely on His unfailing power when our own strength runs out, and to live in a way that reflects His glory rather than building our own little kingdoms. This message reminds us that God’s reign is eternal, His strength never fades, and His glory is worth pointing to in everything we do. It’s an encouragement for all of us to place God at the centre of our lives and trust Him with each moment. If this message speaks to you, or if you’d like someone to talk to or pray with, we’d love to hear from you.Speaker: Pastor JoshConnect with us:🌐 https://www.woodybap.org.uk/woodybapcardiff📸 https://www.instagram.com/woodybapcardiff📘 https://www.facebook.com/woodybapcardiff

Is God Really in Control of History? | The Book of Daniel: Chapter Eight

11/7/2025
Welcome to Woody! This week we continue our journey through the book of Daniel in the Old Testament. Annabel leads us through Daniel 8 — a striking vision that blends history, prophecy, and a powerful reminder of God’s complete control over world events. In this chapter, Daniel sees a ram, a goat, and a “little horn” that grows into a fierce and destructive ruler. Annabel unpacks how these images point to real historical empires — from Persia to Greece under Alexander the Great — and to the rise of Antiochus Epiphanes, a ruler who brutally persecuted the Jews and desecrated the temple. But this vision doesn’t just reveal the past. It also gives us a picture of the future, showing how Antiochus foreshadows the final Antichrist and the patterns of evil that will appear before Christ returns. Through it all, Annabel helps us see the central truth: God is sovereign over history, He reveals what we need to know, and He calls us to remain faithful and to “go about the King’s business” with confidence and hope. If this message speaks to you, or if you’d like someone to talk to or pray with, we’d love to hear from you. Who Really Rules the World? | The Book of Daniel: Chapter Seven

11/5/2025
Welcome to Woody! This week we continue our journey through the book of Daniel in the Old Testament. Pastor Josh leads us through Daniel 7 — one of Scripture’s most profound and powerful visions — where earthly kingdoms rise and fall, but the Ancient of Days reigns forever. In this apocalyptic scene, Daniel is shown four terrifying beasts representing human empires driven by pride, power, and rebellion. Yet above the chaos sits God on His throne — sovereign, holy, and unshaken. Pastor Josh helps us see how this vision pulls back the curtain on spiritual reality, revealing the ultimate hope found in the Son of Man, Jesus Christ, whose eternal kingdom cannot be shaken. This message invites us to lift our eyes above the turmoil of our world and anchor our confidence in the God who rules over history. Even when evil seems loud and kingdoms rage, Jesus has already secured the victory — and His people will share in His triumph.
