This week Kurt and Chad talk with two professional athletes about their careers in sports. Amos Martin played in the NFL for the Minnesota Vikings (he has three Super Bowl rings to show for it!) and Ted Schulz played golf on the PGA tour, where he won several tournaments. Both men are University of Louisville Hall of Famers. They have great stories about their respective sports, but they also share what’s the most important thing in their lives - their faith. The Kentucky Derby is known as “the greatest two minutes in sports.” The Derby is the oldest American sporting event. Every year the city of Louisville, Kentucky celebrates for two weeks in preparation for a two minute horse race. Is the build up worth it? If you've ever been to the Kentucky Derby, you’d have to say it is. And the majority of the time, the intrigue is not about horses, but about the people. On this week’s show, Kurt and Chad talk to racing Hall of Famer Pat Day about how he got into horse racing, and about his meteoric rise to fame and fortune. With 8,803 career wins on some of the greatest championship horses, his favorite win was the 1992 Kentucky Derby. But was that THE defining moment in his career, and life? DJ talks about what he does as a volunteer to help the woefully understaffed law enforcement collect info on the people who are committing these crimes and helping rescue these children and young women out of this lifestyle.
